You will just purchase rent your old Switch games on the New Switch 2 Eshop2. Then you can play up to 30 days so long as it is on your Home Wifi, and you do not have guests over.
If the Switch 2: Electric Boogaloo detects an emulator running on any device on the same network the Nintendo Security Devision will dispatch a crack team of lawyers to dispense justice immediately. This team is called … the N-Team!!
Don’t get me wrong: I’ve played through games with it and it’s really great. But there’s a ton of glitches and games that don’t play well. In another 5 or 10 years (hopefully I’ve upgraded my hardware by then) it’ll probably be great. But today it’s reserved for enthusiasts who enjoy tinkering with settings or playing less demanding games.
I only used it to replay Kingdom Hearts a few years ago, but I never had any issues with it. And based on this video RPCS3 released yesterday, it looks like there are plenty of games that are very playable, by any definition.
Playable status with the green mark has been a pretty polished experience for me without issues after putting the settings recommended in the wiki. Those that have issues have been stuff like Mgs4 and infamous get ingame status.
I played through MGS4 recently on Arch Linux. Lots of community patches, and tinkering with settings. But it was mostly playable. Textures on any kind of screen in-game (like when a character is video chatting you), some of the flashback sequences, and a few random times the NV mode in south America went completely out of whack. But it was enough to look past the issues and enjoy the story and gameplay after playing MGS1-3
That’s true, Sting is my favorite part of DL’s dune. He played Feyd-Rautha so well.
Also, Patrick Stuart is my favorite part of dune. He was an excellent Halleck.
Kyle McLaughlin though… He was my favorite part of dune, such an outstanding Paul. Always felt a little mature for the role, but he did an amazing job none the less.
That and Alecia Witt… Man, that creepy little girl, and the oddly mismatching voice… My favorite part for sure.
Yeah but as the shareholders get used to companies laying off workers to “cut costs”, any company not doing it sees their shares tank. Which is Not Ok™️, so they keep firing people so the execs can pay themselves bigger and bigger bonuses over high stock prices.
It really is a bloodbath in the tech sector. I don’t understand where these thousands of people are even going to go considering major companies are on hiring freeze
My pipe dream is a bunch of new indie studios forming out of all these layoffs and kicking publisher‘s asses on sales with new competent and passionate games.
…But I guess they‘d then probably sell to those publishers again and repeat…
The largest factor is lack of capital, which is something everyone is enduring due to the SVB collapse. This is a giant recession of the entire sector and I don’t see how it corrects any time soon.
While breathing is cool, I have some hope that it will start correcting this year or next.
The big thing is that the raised interest rates have helped to prevent a real recession. So the real question is when can they come back down. I hope it starts this year even though it’ll likely take years to go back to what they were pre-pandemic, if the go that low again.
Here’s hoping it makes a splash and can stick around this time. I feel like unfortunately there are so many good games to be playing at any time these competitive online games are so much more likely to fail even if they’re extremely high quality.
I’m crying I loved this game so much, even enough to pilfer through the convoluted mess it is to join a private server lobby to continue playing. Ahh I’m so excited!
Gigantic looks something like Smite? Is that what I am getting here? I was hoping for an Overwatch / Team Fortress clone (unironically). I really need some more competition for this type of game.
If not for Planescape being on there I would have assumed they meant only more recent games. No Jade Empire. No KOTOR. Not even Neverwinter Nights or Fallout 1 & 2 or Icewind Dale. Let alone all the classic SSI Goldbox games or even Bard’s Tale (the original from the 80’s not that shit on Xbox).
