tdawg,

I love how broken and unbalanced the first game is. Looking forward to ragdolling from wild animals while my character freezes to death again

tdawg,

For anyone who wants to get into this just know that A) it has aged VERY poorly. There are tons of aspects about the UX that are just terrible and frustrating. And B) it’s better with a group

But if you can get past all that then it’s really fun

tdawg,

If you could deliberately make a game that bad I would unironcally buy it

tdawg,

You don’t have to keep selling me on it. I already said you could have my money

tdawg,

Lots of fun! Got a little repetitive after about tens hours. Don’t regret the purchase

tdawg,

Personally I hate scaling in games. It makes leveling up feel pointless or even punishing. Nothing feels better than returning to the intro area as a god and nuking the npcs from orbit

tdawg,

It’s funny that companies think we give a shit how expensive it is for them to operate. Just make something good. That’s all that matters

tdawg,

Yes

tdawg,

History is filled with inventions too early for their time… Still kinda weird VR seems to have shown up like 6 times now and never sticks tho

tdawg,

Honestly I’m just shocked people still buy these games

tdawg,

Pretty sure they haven’t been prioritizing their own games for a decade now

tdawg,

Sure but they haven’t cared about the state of their games in ages. Iike I’m all for pushing to get them to fix it and all, but think it’s weird that people are surprised. Especially when the vast majority of their focus has been on steam for the last forever

tdawg,

Didn’t you read the article. All of them got banned

tdawg,

My biggest complaint with the first game is that the stat scaling made no fucking sense. It was more optimal to level a class other than the one you wanted to play and only then swap to the class you like after maxing out (in most cases). I hope they revamp how the progression works otherwise I’s be happy playing the exact same game

tdawg,

Honestly I kinda loved how bad it was

tdawg,

So I actually tried it again last night.

My partner and I had finally gotten around to watching EdgeRunners and had heard that the game had improved quite a bit. Anyway so I have the thing install over dinner and sit down to play for a couple of hours before bed. I start a new game since you can’t just jump in after being away for months right. I load up a new character start doing the intro and instantly am reminded of why I disliked the game. The intro is incredibly rushed and all of your choices don’t matter. I bugged out in the middle of conversations at least 2 different times where I was unable to move my character and no dialogue was presented. The combat is boring and uninspired. My character would consistently load in T posing to areas. Characters would suddenly stop moving their mouths during conversations. And for a game meant to be open world the game was really really insitent that I play their dumb linear story that is absolutely fucking full of these damn trains-that-look-like-car-rides.

Idk guys I think it’s the same game with the same core design flaws. Sure it’s probably gotten a face lift but it sure as hell doesn’t play any different than it did a year ago

tdawg,

Looks like I can’t since they don’t officially support HDD anymore :)

tdawg,

Just keep digging that hole huh?

tdawg,

Turns out people like games that are good

tdawg,

Of all the games to choose to remaster they decided on Oblivion and not Morrowind? Man, Bethesda couldn’t confirm how out of touch they are even harder if they tried

tdawg,

My big point here is that Bethesda isn’t aware of what their fan base enjoys. There are plenty of people who have played their games who are not fans. When I say fan what I’m talking about is the kind of people who play all of their games throughout history. You garner good will with your community by catering to the desires of the fan base itself. that said even if they wanted to do the most money grabbiest thing they could it would still make more sense to start with 3 and work their way toward 5 again. It would give them more games to monotize and would also let them build hype for the games that did penetrate the general audience

tdawg,

I would hope they remove the randomness from Morrowind. It doesn’t serve the experience one bit
