Watch out for those scorpions

Scorpions were bad but i still fear early game cazadors.

I like these posts, but I can not even remotely comprehend how you can juggle all the like one dozen games you play at the same time in your brain.

MyNameIsAtticus,
@MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

I think part of it is I like to keep “journals” for my characters in lore for some games. So my Skyrim character has one, and so does my Fallout New Vegas, etc. and then another aspect is free time

More power to you, I just can’t relate. I can see going between one narrative game and a couple of non-narrative games. Sometimes you just feel like a game of Civ for example or whatnot in-between sessions of say Cyberpunk. But if I’m into one narrative I usually don’t feel like switching, and if I find something else I get sucked into I lose track of the previous one and don’t feel like going back. Juggling this many story games at once is crazy to me. It’s like carrying on 12 different conversations simultaneously. I know people exist that can do it, I just don’t understand how.

That sounds like something from the Unfathomable board game

Petter1,

Among us in real live 🌚

msage,

I love it, it really makes for great immersive experience even for people who aren’t used to RPG settings. The Deep ones are always on the move, so there is the omnipresent sense of impending doom, and that gets everyone nervous and looking kinda sus.

But it takes a while to finish one run, with first-timers it can take over 3 hours.

I still recommend it and push it on other people :)

Petter1,

😁 definitely seems like a fun board game

ArbitraryValue, (edited ) do gaming w This is me helping my toddler learn to play video games with Donkey Kong Country and SMW

Why, back in my day, kids got a Nintendo with Super Mario Brothers and no manual!

Trainguyrom,

Because one of the best things about raising kids is sharing the things you love with your kids

paddirn,

Actually, I feel like back in the day we actually got manuals with tons of story content and artwork and such. Game manuals seem to have mostly fallen to the wayside now.

ArbitraryValue,

I got my NES and games used, so I didn’t get any manuals. It took 10-year-old me forever to realize that I wasn’t supposed to shoot the unarmed targets that popped up in Robocop 2’s shooting range, and I never did figure out what the goal of Fester’s Quest was.

Try Closing At 2. It’s a bartender version of what’s described…kind of. Gets very insane very quick.

I’ve been replaying Ocarina of Time recently and just want to say that the right picture is the most tame picture of the great fairies in the game. Them fairies are hoes.

Would’ve been a really great game if it weren’t an Assassin’s Creed, but just a pirate game.

Breezy,

Naw its the best assassins creed game because its the best pirate game so far.

CluckN,

They listened to fans about wanting a Ubisoft pirate game and made Skull and Bones

zaphod,

The “quad A” game?

UndercoverUlrikHD,
@UndercoverUlrikHD@programming.dev avatar

I don’t see why the name would matter much, it was a great game regardless.

zaphod,

Not the name, the AC game mechanics. It could’ve been an even better pirate game if it had focused on its strengths and dropped the AC baggage.

UndercoverUlrikHD,
@UndercoverUlrikHD@programming.dev avatar

I disagree. The fact that it was a mix between pirating stuff and acrobatic land exploration helped making sure you never got tired of any mechanic. A game solely focusing on the boat would have gotten monotonous in my opinion

Schmuppes,

Thankfully the present-time “story” is negligible. I hated that about the series up to and including AC 3.

Yearly1845, do gaming w I only ever used it for Pokemon, but I'm sure there were other uses.

It’s true. I had a brother; he refused to trade with me. I still have a brother, and I’m sure he’d trade with me now, but we’re in our (late) 30s, and so Pokemon time has certainly declined.

It’s too derivative of the N64 logo if you ask me. Jk, they’re both pretty good.

MagnyusG,

The N64 logo was equally as creative maybe even more, with its 64 faces and 64 vertices.

Picard, my friend. I don’t know history well enough to know if MSFT was involved or not based on our colleagues comments below but I most certainly agree that the horse armor was a reckoning, and dawn of a depressingly fraught new era.

What fixes do VI need?

Flexaris,

Off the top of my head I have seen units being teleported because tiles are incorrectly linked.

Nemoder,

Often animations get stuck (until a timeout is hit after ~30 seconds).
Sometimes units can appear on a city that already has a unit and is blocked from moving away which prevents ending the turn.
Sometimes linked units don’t move together properly until the next turn.
Capturing a builder or settler with a linked unit just deletes it.
Currently if you buy Gathering Storm DLC you cannot play it with anyone who doesn’t also own Rise and Fall.

And those are just the issues I noticed personally this week.
