I’ve been playing the original Call Of Duty games, starting at the first one. I beat it and United Offensive. I’m working on the second game.
It’s all in service of a write up about the core identity and the design philosophy of the games. How the original games were fresh for their time, and how COD4 used a lot of the sensibilities of the WW2 games that preceded it. There’s a lot to mine and digest in the old games, COD4, and Modern Warfare 2 as a contrast and turning point. I just don’t know if people care enough to follow it.
Same and to make it even worse I’m very light sensitive when sleeping. I seriously went as far as to unplug my monitor and make a PC cover every night. because the indicator light would keep me up at night.
If you’re on Windows, hit the Windows key (or open the start bar) and find the icon that looks like a circle with a vertical dash through to top of it. From there, you’re looking for “shut down”.
This will safely turn off your computer so that the lights will turn off.
I have no ill will to the flamboyant of the many genders, but if a high end component doesn’t have a non-RGB setting or option then I’m not gonna use it. It’s the opposite of a selling point for me.
So? I don’t care what it’s associated with because 1) I’m not a homophobe 2) the color spectrum is neat. All the colors we can see, represented in a neat continuum. It’s just pleasing to the eye.
I have a bunch of these stupid-ass components in my machine, but my case takes care of that bullshit. It is a monolithic black slab with special baffles to prevent light from getting out. It does not even have a fucking power LED. I love it so much.
PC gamers: either gay or confident enough in their sexuality to not be scared of being associated with rainbows.
At least I’d like to think that, but then gamergate was a thing, so it’s probably more accurate to say that a bunch think rainbows are gay but their rainbow LEDs are an exception or some shit.
I think gamergate was actually pushed pretty far by political actors. I believe that scumbag Steve Bannon actually had a lot of involvement there because he wanted to propagndize to “rootless white men” and create an army of assholes to vote the way he wants. :/
Yeah I know words change over time, but wood meaning that was probably to avoid saying penis or something like that, They couldve adopted a different flag, like they did with the trans one. Now maybe they could chose this to avoid censorship, not sure, that makes sense
You want to pick a new symbol for the gays, but you want to use a symbol that has no other meaning associated with it. Can’t use multicoloured arcs because that already symbolizes the rainbow itself. So by that logic, you can’t use ANY existing concept or image of any previously existing thing.
Dude, just be honest with yourself. The Gays give you weird feelings you’re not willing to examine.
Holocure is a surprisingly good survivors-like and it works perfectly on steam deck with no changes. Just don't change resolution on PC to something sd can't handle.
Yeah, I’m not even particularly into hololive besides very occasionally watching some highlight videos. The game is amazing. And free. I played the absolute hell out of it after giving it a shot, just like I did with vampire survivors.
That rainbow effect is just the default demo mode and is the peripheral’s manufacturer’s way to advertise that the LEDs inside are RGB. This means that the LEDs can be customized to be any color or combination of color that the owner wants at the press of a button. It eas say and simple to do.
The whole point of it is customization. And yet for some reason a lot of people leave it on the default demo rainbow mode after buying it.
I’m sure a fair chunk of people are like me that don’t care about RGB and only got it because it’s easier/cheaper to get components with RGB than without. And I’m not downloading bloatware just to turn it off.
There is FOSS that can control most RGB schemes that can be controlled from software.
Though I’m sortof like you in that I installed nothing, so I don’t have references or a user experience. Luckily, I could turn off all the BS in the BIOS, so I have a nice and dark machine without having to dig.
