No info yet but I would be very surprised if it gets cancelled at this stage. The remakes sold very well apparently and Mafia 4 has been in development for quite some time already.
Especially in Asia, which is a shame. My country doesn’t has a game pass and no official store. At least now we have a GP on PC, but not on the console yet
nah, this was true during launch when both were constantly sold out, but now that availability has grown this has not stayed linear. the PS5 currently makes up around half of all consoles sold in the UK, followed by switch and eventually xbox. xbox sales are actually down 20% or so year-to-date.
It’s an absurd value. I have two that I just use as media centers and the house. You can also travel with it very easily. About the same size as my switch one you put a travel case on it.
Well sure, but you said you just use them as media centers. Unless you count games as media too. But for just viewing streaming services there are cheaper options.
For context, Bethesda provided minimal support to Obsidian and gave them an absolutely absurdly short development time frame to make the game in. I think it was only a year.
The bugginess isn’t all their fault. The game director even released a free mod or two after the game released to do some rebalancing and add a survival mode to it.
it was 100% obsidians fault. they agreed to the time, and they yet again were way too ambitious, like with kotor 2. its just who obsidian is, bad time management and bad ambition management. they do make great games but those are 2 real flaws they have
At least they no have MS money behind them so they can go that last mile and tidy things up now. Much like Bethesda here too, under Zenimax Starfield would have been out last year with all those bugs and issues still in place.
I think they definitely could, and have. Super buggy games are kind of their thing, it didnt stop with new vegas.
But I dont think it will hurt sales. Long as it isnt crashing the game, people have been waiting for a bethesda rpg like this for ages. Even if npc heads do rotate like propellors people will buy this thing.
For anyone who may have forgotten or may not know: the game is a day 1 launch on game pass. I already have it preloaded and I didn’t preorder. You can easily see how buggy the game is for yourself next week.
In the case they are actually being honest, they could just be speaking relatively - which still doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me that Starfield is going to be seamless and smooth at launch, or even a few months past launch.
In the case that they are just clearly lying, it's an intentional strategy: they're counting on the fact that they will gain more money from this than they will lose from people discovering it was a lie after the game launches.
