It has the potential to be an amazing game. But it probably never will be.

I fire it up once or twice per year. It looks great. Beyond that… it’s kind of fun to explore a bit, but that’s pretty much it. Not sure if anything will ever become of it.

It’s like a tip to XBox. Yo do tip your console, right?

AnUnusualRelic,

Yeah? Well that’s like 40 triangles!

We played that at the office after work :-/

That seems like a lot of work for potato world.

The soft beeping of Breakout is soothing.

Gameplay mechanics were also a lot better with more replayability. (lemmy.world) angielski

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I can’t count the number of times I played Metal Gear Solid games over and over to unlock new features playing the hardest difficulty and with...

What was great is that we had more free time.

I’m about to revive my CV1 as I reinstall my gaming rig in a couple months. I hope it won’t be bricked by those Facebook idiots.

After a while, you’ll find that those “friends” will:

  • not be available at the same time you want to play.
  • won’t have the game in their library.
  • won’t necessarily want to play the way you want to

You get your gaming sessions where you can, or not at all.

How about the triple A remake of Pong we’ve all been waiting for?

We peaked when we had full hd. After all what could top full high definition… fuller high definition? That would just be silly.

It’s long because you have to copy and paste your password from the manager (and click “remember me”) every time.

There’s clearly two groups: young gamers that play their games the same way they use excel and the old gamers that have dedicated settings.

I never played on consoles, but I’m pretty sure that also happened on PC. Maybe around 2005 or 10.

AnUnusualRelic,
@AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world avatar

This looks promising. Looking forward to trying it again when I’ll finally be able to put my machine back together.

They say Insurgency development continues nevertheless.

We shall see. It’s a fun game for a quick 20 minutes of action.

AnUnusualRelic,
@AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world avatar

I play casually on coop servers from time to time (at level 250 or something, although it’s nice that levels are meaningless in that game). I mostly see it as a fun and not too serious shooter that’s good for a quick game.

I don’t always have the time for a Squad session.

If it hadn’t been for reddit, I wouldn’t have been aware that there was an online mode.

If you stopped running for a second, maybe I could actually heal your stupid rambo ass.

Here’s what the device is if (like me) you didn’t know what it was (and, if, maybe like me, you didn’t want to watch some random video).

It seems to me that those machines are poor PCs and poor Steam Deck wannabes.

However, they do remind me of my favourite PC of all time, the fabulous Vaio C1 PictureBook by Sony. Mine had 64 Megs of memory (extended to 192 I think) and 12Gigs of disk. And, you bet it ran Linux like a champ (Mandrake, with KDE).

AnUnusualRelic,
@AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world avatar

Fair.

I see they have a number of little machines that can come in very handy in a lot of cases. So while I’m not convinced by that one specifically, it doesn’t reflect on the whole lineup. A lot of their gadgets are quite nice.

However I’m more convinced by their “tech in a pocket” systems than by the gaming ones.

AnUnusualRelic,
@AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world avatar

True, I hadn’t, and it certainly is.

AnUnusualRelic,
@AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world avatar

I’ve been playing it solo for ages. It’s fine.

The robot is a better dwarf than any friend.

AnUnusualRelic,

How can you be a character when you’re seeing it from a distance?

First person is the only way to have immersion. At least let the players choose.

AnUnusualRelic,
@AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world avatar

I didn’t play those but I remember spending a lot of time on Populous. That one was quite good.

AnUnusualRelic,
@AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world avatar

So when can we try it with a new afordable Steam PC headset?

AnUnusualRelic,

Unity issue an apology on Twitter for "confusion and angst" over the runtime fee policy. (nitter.net) angielski

We have heard you. We apologize for the confusion and angst the runtime fee policy we announced on Tuesday caused. We are listening, talking to our team members, community, customers, and partners, and will be making changes to the policy. We will share an update in a couple of days. AnUnusualRelic,

Well, exploring is probably quite boring, so I guess they got that right.

AnUnusualRelic,
@AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world avatar

Having no idea what the ventilation is in other areas, I don’t know how it compares.

Also all those markets probably overlap a fair bit.

I used to think that the share was roughly ½ console and ½ PC, but not only does it probably vary wildly from place to place, I have nothing to base that feeling on anyway. It’s just that I never played on a console (until the deck, which only semi-counts) and never met anybody who did until quite late (which admittedly doesn’t really mean anything). Also I never really thought of phones as a gaming medium even though they clearly are.

And finally, now that a lot of titles are released on multiple platforms, does it matter all that much?

Starfield Is Seemingly Missing Entire Stars (the local 'sun') When Running On AMD Radeon GPUs (wccftech.com) angielski

So a user on Reddit (ed: u/Yoraxx ) posted on the Starfield subreddit that there was a problem in Starfield when running the game on an AMD Radeon GPU. The issue is very simple, the game just won't render a star in any solar system when you are at the dayside of a moon or even any planetary object. The issue only occurs on AMD...

If it was quality, then they wouldn’t have gotten the die wrong.

But, yes, apart from that it’s fine.
