caut_R,

Can‘t wait to watch, performance in the demo for me had been abysmal so I was gonna wait for this one a couple years of hardware upgrades anyway

caut_R,

Does this game really need a remaster…? It won‘t cost nothing to make so I‘m confused.

caut_R,

Probably DiRT 2… Overall just did everything right for me, no complaints at all.

UPDATE: Here is the final design of the Humorless Toaster, that this wonderful community helped me pick yesterday! (Needless to say one of the previous versions was unintentionally problematic) (lemmy.world) angielski

Thank you all for contributing, here is a link to the original post: https://lemmy.world/post/19721257...

caut_R,

That sends me back to when people in online discussions regularly claimed anything above 60 fps is pointless because the human eye can‘t see more than that anyway

Why Do People Still Play Destiny 2? angielski

With the release of “The Final Shape,” the main storyline has concluded, and it seems like the developers are now just churning out random content and seasonal passes without a clear direction for the game’s future. I’m genuinely curious about what motivates players to stick around. Are there aspects of the game that...

caut_R, (edited )

I’m sure we can be more open-minded and agree that people can enjoy the core gameplay loops of games which we don‘t personally enjoy without having to be addicted.

caut_R,

I wonder what all the big publishers are pushing now. A Genshin? A Palworld?

caut_R,

Is it known if there is going to be a way to share progression between devices?

caut_R,

The market‘s gotta be nearing saturation with all the competition, no? And XBOX is rumored to wanna jump into it too…

caut_R,

I love the XBOX Lunar Shift controller, it seems like they added a nice rubber coat around the - what do you call these - wings? so it has a very nice feel to it. Sadly, of course, still no hall sticks.

But I also haven‘t really tried a dozen different controllers so I‘m not sure how helpful my opinion is.

caut_R, (edited )

Huh, that actually puts it back on my wishlist. Being patient with game purchases almost always pays off.

caut_R,

Big publishers might as well tell studios to end themselves when they‘re handing out these kinda projects, set up for failure IMO

Day 44 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world) angielski

The game is Phasmophobia. A friend bought it for me so we could play together tonight. I took this in one of the early houses tonight. I know it’s not too interesting of a screenshot, but it was floating there along with a picture frame and a phone. interacting with them made them vanish. ik there are ghosts in this game but i...

caut_R,

I think it‘s amazing that we can be like „ok but is this scary or buggy?“ lol

caut_R,

The planet with the zombies and especially anything related to the weird underground city on it was worse IMO

If you didn‘t already know what path to take to end up in the specific spot in said city that you needed to go to, you were in for a ride lol

Also backtracking through the swamp area

I do remember having trouble finding specific exploration percentages in Zeffo as well though

caut_R,

With a 3080 it ran fine at 4k, I capped FPS to 75 which it held most of the time. „Survivor“ (the latest entry in the series) is plagued by performance issues. Fallen Order does have traversel and shader stutter though IIRC.

Day 32 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world) angielski

After having to shelve Fallout New Vegas for a bit because it was bugging out with vats, and picking up L.A. Noire again to scratch that same itch. I remembered why it was so addicting....

caut_R,

Shame there‘s no successor to that game (that I know of)

caut_R,

My Skyrim‘s incredibly heavily modded to the point where it‘s impossible to troubleshoot glitches I encounter, but goddamn is it pretty.

Where do you find new games nowadays? (Both singleplayer + multiplayer) angielski

Hi all, I know this question has probably been posted on the internet millions of times, yet I would like to receive some Lemmy-oriented answers. :) What are your favorite places, websites, or creators for discovering new games in your favorite genres?

caut_R,

Very nice pointer, thanks for that!

Day 11 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world) angielski

Today’s game is No Man’s Sky (Also the first repeat game). This is my Ship that is stuck on fire. No clue why. It was damaged, and after I repaired it the fire wouldn’t go out. It works fine and all systems are operating perfectly. So I guess I just have a ship that’s on fire now

caut_R,

When it first came out, I pretty much hated it, but I came back to it a couple years ago and had fun. Even though I didn‘t interact much with the basebuilding aspect, the exploration, story, and combat were fun enough for 60ish hours. I think it positively surprises nowadays.

caut_R, (edited )

Pretty good game, I was really missing a fasttravel feature towards the end

(on the planets ofc lol, you can fasttravel between planets)

caut_R,

I wonder how many of the devs working on the title actually believe in this direction

caut_R,

It’s such a headscratcher to not put upscalers (and maybe frame gen) into the game when they can be modded into Elden Ring. If a dude can figure it out, surely so can FROM.

caut_R,

Fantastic game. As an achievement hunter I shake my head a bit at the gold chip on all jokers thing, but for now I just see it as another excuse to play it more. I still feel like I‘m shit at the game though around 40 hours in.

caut_R,

Unravel 2 and Styx Shardssomething, a friend and I need more coop games.

(Any suggestions are welcome, we might‘ve played a lot of them already though)

Man accused of attempted murder in hammer attack over online gaming argument (www.nbcnews.com) angielski

Edward Kang, 20, flew from Newark, New Jersey, to Jacksonville, Florida, to confront someone he had an online dispute with, Nassau County, New Jersey, Sheriff Bill Leeper said. Court records show he was charged Monday with second-degree attempted murder and attempted burglary....

caut_R,

My favorite superhero, can‘t wait for the movie adaption

caut_R,

To my eyes, Pokemon also went clay/plastic when they moved from 3DS (USUM) to Switch. I hope Nintendo moves on from this look. I want to see something in the style of Windwaker, personally.

caut_R,

One of the few games on my radar this year, Mana is largely nostalgia to me so I‘m probably lurking for a sale unless it surprises…

caut_R,

The strategic move of making your product available for more potential customers, better late than never I guess

caut_R,

Too risky regarding personal info you might’ve overlooked IMO, maybe give it to a friend instead

And obviously it‘s against the ToS and might get the account banned but I assume you know that

What are some eras of gaming that you've stopped feeling nostalgic for? (kbin.social) angielski

As I've gotten older as a player, I have found myself dropping some eras of gaming that I used to be nostalgic for. One of them is the 8-bit era, the NES days. I have played some of the best that system had to offer and I will never say that system didn't have any good games....

caut_R,

Since publishers are allergic to dedicated community servers nowadays, I’d argue there‘s just no feeling of community anymore and hence it‘s worse or at least different than it used to be. You just get matched with random people you‘ll never see again and that makes it easier for people to be unhinged pricks.

I think I‘ve spent hundreds of hours on an militia only server (uk2 or sth?) in cs1.6 in the past and hundreds on a back to karkand (or so?) rush only server in bf3 back in the day. I recognized a lot of names on these servers every time I played.

With how multiplayer games work now, I also try to avoid them.

caut_R,

This is - crazy enough - the first time I‘ve ever read someone mentioning Goemon and I couldn‘t agree more

caut_R,

It is! I‘ve ever only known it as „Goemon 2“ and it‘s very different from the first game (it‘s a 2.5D sidescroller) but also a fantastic game IMO. The first game is kinda like an N64 Zelda game… Kinda.

caut_R,

What are people without a PSN account missing out on? What content does the multiplayer portion have?

caut_R,

Oh, that‘s cool, I‘ve never played the original so I‘ll wishlist thi, I‘ve just too much on my plate already atm

caut_R,

Helldivers‘ success somehow caused a crazy knee jerk reaction among the management suits at Sony. This whole sudden „make a PSN account or fuck you“ is just bizarre. To me it seems like they’ve lost more than what they‘re hoping to gain from this. Just a mindboggling move.

caut_R,

Valve isn‘t publicly traded (AFAIK) so they don‘t have to squeeze every last penny if they don‘t want to. And Steam revenue alone can fund anything gabeN wants to do. They don‘t have any ideas for HL3 they‘re satisfied with so they don‘t make it. And I respect that a lot TBH.

caut_R,

Ok, but how much Blizzard is even left at Blizzard? lol

caut_R,

With how many, many, many gamer targeted products look, apparently the target audience is 8 y/o. Idk if it helps or hurts sales.

caut_R,

Would making it a torrent be a bad thing? Since they were worried about hosting.

caut_R,

I got all the Assassin‘s Creeds (apart from Valhalla and Mirage) on sale for way less with all the extra bs… it‘s not a multiplayer game with a playerbase that could die off, so I‘ve got time to wait for a sale in 3-5 years. Who knows, maybe it‘ll even run properly by then. Buying on release is paying extra to take part in an extended early access beta.

"Worshippers of Cthulhu" - Lovecraftian city builder

So, I saw new game - https://store.epicgames.com/pl/p/worshippers-of-cthulhu-0fd3a2?fbclid=IwAR3yt_mwO1ju5HEInJyte-ZWIkPiB7NQ81BxplTniFVINZfXhd0TkXRpSCU_aem_AWnENz3wLNsMYhhDXZrM9Y3xy50ON-bUyCzadulNGpPG4J9ks6ZbjrCduTqtdw7N4K_37i2M9xZqB_Jv72klpg85 . It looks very interesting. I am not sure if there were any strategy game based on...

caut_R,

It‘s also on Steam in case others are wondering like me. Wishlisted there. Really cool theme, hope the gameplay can deliver too.

Gameplay mechanics were also a lot better with more replayability. (lemmy.world) angielski

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I can’t count the number of times I played Metal Gear Solid games over and over to unlock new features playing the hardest difficulty and with...

caut_R,

The good thing was that games were complete and they didn‘t try to suck ever last penny out of you post-launch. Also, no updates meant they actually couldn‘t just ship them broken and fix later…

caut_R,

Patient Gamers eating well (and sensibly priced)

Sega sells off Relic Entertainment, will axe 240 jobs (www.gamedeveloper.com) angielski

Canada-based studio Relic Entertainment, which recently released Company of Heroes 3, did receive some good news in the midst of these layoffs. The company announced on X (formerly Twitter) that it is becoming an independent studio thanks to the help of “an external investor” who went unnamed.

caut_R,

How independent is Relic really if they got bought by an unnamed external investor? Still better than getting axed and hoping the same kinda layoffs won‘t just come later („The studio hasn’t indicated if it will lay off any workers as part of the shift“).

caut_R,

I feel like I haven‘t heard or read anything positive about CA since they did Shogun 2
