Out of all these IT companies it seems like Phil is the first to call it a painful process, not just optimisation. Seems like he at least understands what a bad press it is to lay off 2k of people so he doesn’t keep this happy attitude about that, and even promise severance payments. And compared to others, they just had a big merger with dublicating departments and other internal structural shenanigans always meaning future lay offs.
What a weird way to start a year feeling like M$ is the most ethical maneater, although they top the list in hard numbers now. Can’t wrap my head around it.
Your first mistake is believing anything Phil said as even slightly remorseful. Executives are full of shit and emotions for them is an act. These layoffs were probably planned months in advance and it’s not like he can publicly applaud them, anyway.
Did I say I trust him? His speech is probably handed to him by a secretary. I’m talking about that speech even mentioning something besides rising effectiveness of the company further on, it isn’t even mentioned.
By agreeing to the settlement, the CCRD’s case against Blizzard Activision will be withdrawn, with the former agreeing publicly that “no court or any independent investigation has substantiated any allegations [of] systemic or widespread sexual harassment at Activision Blizzard”. well, that’s some garbage.
They have games on Netflix already that you play using your TV remote. They’re basically just choose your own adventure books, but in a TV show/movie format instead of a book.
There is also old crap like Doodle Jump, too, on other services that work on a TV using your remote.
There’s some you play on iOS already. For example storyteller and Into the Breach. It basically checks that you have a Netflix account and then you can play the game.
I downloaded Forza on PC on Game Pass. It looks great, but GT definitely looks better in most situations. I have a gray Mustang in real life, and I couldn’t quite get the paint to match. I feel like GT does a better job in that regard as well.
So little we know, but just based on her previous stuff I’m tentatively excited. Hope she gets to finish this and doesn’t have it ripped out beneath her.
I see articles about ex-devs standing up studios and then they never have anything to show for it, even years later there’s nothing to show. This has been happening for years and the first game I’ve seen from any ex-dev team is stormgate from ex-starcraft devs.
I’m fine with remasters that allow us to play old games on modern hardware. I’m somewhat ok with remakes to an extent. I’m not ok with the constant remakes of games that aren’t old enough to need a remake or the original game still holds up. Most recent remakes aren’t needed and feel like cash grabs
