I'm glad to not have invested into the Capcom games. The article talks about Steam Deck only, but I assume its broken on Linux as well ("Linux" as a word isn't found on the article).
Cause tendo knows they need tos tep up their game to even make a minor dent in the steam deck…Nintendo is just…meh lately. Overpriced, boring and bland.
Look, I want a Steam Deck from the deepest depths of my heart and I love what it offering... but this take just isn't it. The Steam Deck is said to have sold "multiple millions" of units, lets say generously around 10 million. The Nintendo Switch has sold 132 million units. The Steam Deck couldn't hope to begin threatening the Nintendo Switch.
Though in all fairness, I don't think it needs to. It's much more of a specialized device rather than something you give to your kids.
Article title isn’t super clear, but this is for video game developers who have either been laid off themselves OR others on their team have been impacted. It’s still bad, but the 35% quoted as impacted in the article is not actually a percentage of layoffs.
According to the report, while 54 percent of developers canvassed said there had been no layoffs at their company over the last year, 35 percent said either they or their colleagues had lost their jobs.
Yeah, its 35% of the people canvassed for this report. Even then, not all those people were laid off - some of them are people who know somebody who was impacted.
I’ve been dying to relive those younger days with the drum peripheral but it’s damn hard to find nowadays. I wish I could find something for my Series X to play with my preschooler. She’d get a kick out of it.
Clonehero is pretty good. People sell auduino guitars that work better than the old controllers. I converted my old guitar hero guitars into an auduino guitar.
YARG is still in development but has vocal support. I've been putting off trying it out since Clone Hero works for me, but I've been keeping an eye on it's development.
I chucked an old hard drive with something like 20 bitcoin on it from my college days without ever giving it a second thought. I think it was like $5 each then. Imagine my surprise when BTC hit $20k.
Clone Hero can run on any PC. And it works with any USB MIDI drum kit. You can find used cheap ones as low as $100 or buy a new professional E-kit for $2000. If you really want to learn to play the drums (instead of just dragging it out to play video games), the Alesis Nitro is a really great quality kit in the $300-400 range.
Cautiously optimistic that this will be good. I appreciate they are at least trying to make combat seem more in-depth than just hacking away at enemy's with a sword. Hopefully the game lives up to that promise. It's a shame we're not getting a proper third Pillars game, but at least we're getting something else set in the that world.
I like how their example of “moral nuance and gray areas” is just a binary choice lmao. Baldur’s Gate 3 has really ruined how I view this whole genre. I don’t know if it’s sadder for me, or companies that clearly weren’t/aren’t willing or prepared to swing at that level of nuance.
I have been checking for updates on this since I first heard of it on the loading screen of PoE2. If it’s anything like the pillars games I am gonna be real happy
