It is, but by god don’t grind your face against bosses that are too hard. I was having a bad time when I did three major bosses in a row, now I’m fucking around and exploring it’s much more enjoyable.
I’m not in an affected country, but from what I can gather from what happened most recently:
Steam changed their pricing policy in relatively poor countries from localized affordable prices to strictly usd equivalent because people in other countries were using vpns to make accounts in those poor countries to get games for what would be pennies for them.
I don’t remember which countries were involved in the first place, but in those countries now where they don’t make as much money on average, but everything is much cheaper, some steam games can cost the equivalent of a month’s salary.
That’s why the store isn’t viable in those countries anymore.
Once enough people do it, it like playing whack-a-mole on a grand scale. Must have been a big enough problem if they decided that locking whole countries out of the market was a solution.
The art direction is on point and that goes a really long way. Hard to gauge how the gameplay feels from watching a video (though it looked a little basic and clunky?). If they deliver a good story and nail the humour this style calls for this could end up a surprise hit.
The 1 minute long trailer had me bored by 30 seconds in. I like the art style but they have a long way to go with so few assets and such little variety in death animations. It has to be a huge variety of assets and animations if their whole project is based on the art style.
I’m honestly glad I didn’t bother watching this year. Kinda just forgot about it as it started and went and saw Godzilla Minus One. After reading about its reception I think I’d made the better choice.
As for the Witcher, I’ve watched a few episodes and found the writing and direction just cringe. It’s also based more on the books than the game as far as I’ve seen (which I’ve read and liked).
I’m not a Castlevania fan. I’m judging solely the show here. Watched 2 seasons and gave up. Visually it does make clever use of resources, they’ve nailed the colour and bloom effects and they can pull off action scenes with very limited framerate animation so hats off for that, however the characters go off model frequently and it shows that it’s hastily made ( budget reasons I guess). The writing kills it for me, the characters and story feel very shallow.
Arcane is a really good show. Solid writing, acting, action, animation, and it’s also visually stunning. There was a lot of talent and effort dedicated to it and it shows. At the time of its release the painterly style was very innovative as well the techniques used to achieve that. I would also vote it n1.
I would have really loved playing this game on my Steamdeck but looks like the only way that’s happening is with some sprinkles of what Nintendo calls piracy
So what was Cuphead? I know, I know, it’s not an FPS, but it could use the exact same title format and nothing would be different.
This game is only using an art style. There’s literally no way this would cause any IP lawsuits even if it released today, unless you’re actually playing as Steamboat Willy and the whistling tune plays somewhere in the game. Which, to my knowledge, isn’t the case.
It’s an interesting art style to give an FPS, but that’s about all this is.
Edit: holy shit I just realized: this is an entire game based on GMod Nextbots. You’re just shooting at animated PNGs that shoot back. Holy fuck.
I watched the first few episodes and it didn’t really catch my attention, honestly it mostly just felt like a slightly above-average generic fantasy anime.
The plush stands firmly at 10 ¼ inch length and 4 ¾ inches wide, which is quite a bit below average for your standard Wiglett. It’s held up by a large, sack-like base. Its long, pale shaft will no doubt delight company when you display it for all to see. The store page notes that its body is bendable, so it should stay rigid and erect as you pose it into different configurations. Meanwhile, its soft body invites you to take it into bed with you so you can spend all night together.
