    What’s your criticism of Cyberpunk 2077’s wardrobe system?

  • Catpurple,

    I didnt experience this with Johnny’s outfit, the wardrobe menu definitely let me overwrite my appearance with his stuff while wearing whatever random crap underneath for the stats.

    His items are only marked as quest items until you have them all. Then you can stick them in the stash.

    Also the wardrobe populates from any item you have acquired, not just the ones in the stash. I know this because I always go buy a bunch of street clothes in watson before talking to Jackie. I don’t stick them in the stash. I just buy them and disassemble them and use the parts for upgrades.

    They don’t have the iconic background in the wardrobe. That also confused me the first time I went looking to make his outfit. You’ll have to either remember the icon of each item or hover over them to see the names.

    Those are some insane review scores. Then again Nintendo flagship titles almost always review well.

    I like the way Cyberpunk did it in the end - you have your items to equip but also a wardrobe outfit that is visible. So you could equip the ugly ass powerful helmet but look like you had the cool shades on instead. Or appeaf naked if you really wanted.

    None of the clothing matters for stats in 2.0+ of cyberpunk. Like the helmets are 25 armor at orange quality. That much armor only affects your character at less than level 10. At higher levels all your stats come from talent points and cyberware. Like my character at level 60 has 1450 armor. The 25 from a helmet or flak vest is negligible. This allows you to wear whatever gear you want to look good.

    You don’t have to worry about outfits at all which is great since there are only like a dozen outfits in the game and half are just hazmat suits. Just wear the clothes you want and keep your armor cyberware up to date.

    This is pure poetry. Brought a very literal tear to my eye.

    Now that I can breathe again, yes absolutely this should 110% be standard QoL for next-gen RPGs. Hopefully.

    I finished The Outer Worlds looking like a psycho in mismatched mascot hats and boots, rapid-switching in my inventory depending on the skill buff I needed for each dialogue check.

    Coelacanth, do games w Current fit in the Witcher 3, anything I should be on the lookout for?
    @Coelacanth@feddit.nu avatar

    If you want to be optimal you should be looking out for the Green Gear (Witcher Sets). They are all obscenely broken compared to other gear, to the point where they invalidate almost every unique item in the game. It’s one of the things I hate about the game. For the most part, gear is just a matter of picking the Witcher set that matches your build and play style.

    There is a unique Steel Sword you can get at the end of Hearts of Stone depending on your choices that is actually quite good due to its unique ability. Definitely good enough to use for all of Blood and Wine. You can also get a unique Silver Sword in B&W that is very good, though it’s a quest reward that can take a while.

    New Moon trousers are not bad, and the Nilfgaardian Guardsman Gauntlets are actually insane gloves, so look out for those. You should still use Witcher gear for the other two armour pieces though, for the set bonus.

    There’s a PC port of RDR? Since when? I’ve been emulating the 360 version the whole time!

    MyNameIsAtticus,
    @MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

    Honestly if the 360 version works well i’d say keep emulating. It’s been out for a bit but it definitely imo is only worth picking up on discount. It’s 50$ if i remember correctly

    Can’t believe you’ve been doing these for nearly a year! Are you gonna keep going after the anniversary?

    MyNameIsAtticus,
    @MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

    I’ve thought about slowing down (maybe move from daily too just doing it per game) or taking a break, but with the way my life is going i honestly think i want to keep going for now. Maybe it’s the high of reaching a year but i feel like i can take on the world lol

    I love RDR 1 but am not fond of RDR 2. Dunno y

    MyNameIsAtticus,
    @MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

    I feel like RDR2 just has a more serious and grounded vibe. RDR1 felt like it wasn’t afraid to get a little whacky sometimes. Both have their charm, but i can see why someone would prefer one over the other

    I’m excited! Longest i think i’ve ever done something. I honestly expected too just go to sleep one day and forget to actually post the screenshots. It’s a little reassuring to know that i made it this far, and a little scary too seeing how much things have changed in my life over the course of a year

    I’m planning too just do a best of post. I’ll have the main screenshot be the usual, and then the rest is all a best of. I’ll probably talk about the game’s i’ve beaten since then and look back on them, maybe filter it down to my favorites though because there’s a lot of games since then

    When I first bought Red Dead Redemption (well over a decade ago, for the Xbox 360), I got it exclusively for the “Undead Nightmare” expansion pack. I love zombie games, and setting it in the Wild West? That’s a unique twist I hadn’t seen yet.

    However, I didn’t want to just jump right into the zombie gameplay. I wanted to be intimately familiar with the world and its lore first, so I could squeeze all the enjoyment out of the zombie expansion. I wanted to know all the townsfolk, so when I had to blow someone’s brains out, I’d understand their relationship to the main character and how emotionally impactful that choice was.

    Suffice to say, I was so anxious to get to the zombie expansion that I rushed through the entire game in maybe 2 evenings. I didn’t really enjoy my playthrough because I was just trying to get it over with as quickly as I could.

    When I finally got to the zombie expansion, I didn’t really enjoy it that much. It was at that moment I realized that the original game was far more fun than the zombie expansion. But I had rushed it and wasted my whole experience.

    Last year, I finally got around to playing through the game again and I made sure to slow down and really enjoy it. It’s such a fantastic story. I played the Undead Nightmare expansion afterwards and made a post about it here for Halloween month. That, too, was more fun than I remembered.

    Now I need to finally play Red Dead Redemption 2. I’ve owned it for years, but I always get bored maybe an hour into the gameplay. They put so much effort into making it as realistic and complex as possible that I just get distracted and lose the plot. RDR1 was a more straightforward plot and kept me engaged, but I keep losing focus on the sequel. I need to force myself to sit still and power through it sometime.

    zero,
    @zero@feddit.xyz avatar

    I blasted through RDR1 because I wanted to play RDR2. Coming straight from RDR1 to RDR2 I felt the gameplay much slower pace than the first which put me off at first. I came back to it multiple times but it's such a long story. I play it once in a while, but it will take me a couple of years before I finish it haha.. especially now since I'm hooked on WoW Classic.

    MyNameIsAtticus,
    @MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

    I feel you with the plot lol. I had a save all the way in Chapter 5 of the second game and lost it, and just kept picking it up and putting it back down again (which i do for a lot of things looking back). It took a whole new prescription for me to power through it
