I had a long day and decided to take things easy, so i played some Minecraft. Here’s the little house i built. I went with 1.5 because that was the version i grew up with (Technically Xbox 360 Edition TU3, but Java 1.5 was the version i felt was closest to that)
As per title. Most computer games these days are made with such unnecessary padding that I want to murder the devs or myself by the end. See, for example, Hyrule Warriors, the 100% 1000 Hour Nightmare, the Review....
What’s interesting to me is of course how cheaply Bioshock got made compared to today’s blockbuster hits. Somewhere, we took the wrong turn in regards to modern game development, truly....
I wasn’t disappointed by what looked like a 2d platormer or brawler, but I agree otherwise.
Edit: I guess it’s neither
But I love 2d brawlers, and something like a hi-fi rush in old Streets of Rage / Capcom beat-rm-up style, with this level of art and quality would be awesome.
Have they? IMO Super Mario Odyssey is the #1 Mario game ever made (Super Mario World being #2). And Wonder is pretty good. Heck, even tbr 3d remake collection thing was pretty nice, as far as “remastered” releases go.
Well, for one, there has been a dramatic increase in the amount of compatible software, which has been a big factor in the success of the Steam Deck and was a big complaint about the original Steam Box/Machine.
I have great memories of Skyrim. And FO3. And New Vegas. And Fallout 4. And Fallout 76 actually got not bad. And Elder Scrolls: Online had one of my favorite quest chains in a game. And…
What’s the advantage of the mini PCs over a relatively cheap Android TV with the Steam Link app or even an old Steam Link hardware?
What’s the hardware you’re using?
I have been doing local streaming from my gaming PC to devices around tbe house (using mostly Steam and Moonlight) for nearly a decade.
I just find the steam stuff maddeningly buggy (setups that worked a month ago suddenly start having some new issue, usually Steam Input or otherwise controller-related). But when things work, it’s fantastic. Especially for living room gaming with friends (or my kid)
No, a bunch of people here just need to be outraged about something all the time, and pessimistic about everything.
Nothing can ever be even modestly positive. Everything - everything - has to be bad and negative all the time. If it was a cute puppy video, there’d be a bunch of comments about how puppy farms are evil and etc.

What’s a game you can 100% without hating by the end?

Steam adds new "Trending Free" tab to hide demos from new & trending
Great change imo. The new & trending tab feels a lot more useful now that it isn’t 50% demos.
