Chariotwheel, w Sega cancels Creative Assembly's Hyenas

I knew that game was DOA, I just didn't expect it at this point to not even make it to the A part.

After what CA did to Warhammer III it's even more infuriating that Hyeanas was thing and was for six years. All for nothing.

Sharkwellington, w New Beginning | Road to Vostok (Dropping unity for godot)

I’ve never heard of this game before, is it a spiritual successor to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?

Fjor, w New Beginning | Road to Vostok (Dropping unity for godot)

Very much looking forward to this game! ✨

Stardew is such a nice game, only game I’ve ever bought on steam, switch and android

bl4ckblooc, w Concerned Ape: Stardew Valley 1.6 content sneak peek. no release date yet

Whaaaaaaat!?!? I thought this was a small update? Seasonal changes to characters, new festivals (I think these are both firsts) plus new quests? Can someone please check on CA and make sure he hasn’t literally burnt out from all the work he is doing to get people quality content?

Stardew had 100% ruined my expectations of games. I didn’t even want to play the Story of Seasons game that got released on GamePass and that was the game that got me into farming sims (the original Harvest Moon version).

ericbomb,

Also isn’t he making a whole other game???

Like, this is Brandon Sanderson level of “I relax from working on my projects by working on another project”

thantik, w Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition - Announcement Trailer | PS5 Games

Won’t care until it’s announced that I can play it on the PC. They released Zero Dawn like…a year after it’s exclusive launch on PS4 I think?

I’m still chomping at the bit for it to release on PC. If I bought a PS5, it would basically be a H:FW player, and I can’t justify buying a console for a single game. The PS5 just doesn’t have enough good titles on it.

criticalinvite,

It is! (2024) I’m guessing done silently alongside this trailer.

thantik,

I just noticed that. At the very end of the clip they mention wishlisting it now, so I wishlisted it. They say “early” 2024 - and it’s one of the few games I already know I love (H:ZD was so good, I watched a 12 hour playthrough with my wife over the course of a couple of days, and she said it was as good as watching a movie)…

Blackmist, w Game prices are too low, says Capcom exec

Not surprising for the man who thinks an iPhone port of an 18 year old GameCube game should cost $60.

520, (edited )

Are you talking about RE4? Because they were actually talking about an Apple port (iPhone, iPad and Mac, with people being able to play on all platforms with one purchase) of the recent remake, which is a 2023 game that only really borrows the story and some layouts from the 2005 game.

Lesrid,

And even then it only borrows the bullet points of the story. I prefer the approach they took with this game compared to say FF7’s where the story definitely feels like it’s improved if you are more familiar with the original.

MrScottyTay,

Are you referring to FF7 remake’s? Because you definitely get more out of it if you’ve played the previous games and watched the movie since it’s quite literally a sequel to them. I really enjoy their approach to it.

I’m not saying RE4’s isn’t the case either. I just don’t think it’s a one or the other kind of scenario and they’re a little different as to why as well.

mindbleach,

I mean… if it looks and plays like a touchscreen- and battery-limited version of the $60 PS5 / Xbox Whatever game… fine?

Of course if he also expects one cent of optional or recurring fees on top of that, he can get fucked.

smallaubergine, w Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2: This. Is. Epic. Drop in to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 on Steam, October 3

I'll just keep emulating them

misk,
@misk@sopuli.xyz avatar

It’s genuinely one of the best remakes in existence and emulation is not even close in this case because THPS1+2 backports loads of quality of life features from later entries.

smallaubergine,

Is the music the same?

misk,
@misk@sopuli.xyz avatar

About half is from original entries, the other half is contemporary stuff that respects the theme and is very good on its own. It’s not the only area where remake gracefully draws from originals and modern skating, for example you get all the old skaters as well as modern pros.

mayo, w Meta Quest 3: New Mixed Reality VR Headset

Looks like a good upgrade.

My main interest in these is for watching movies. A review I was just looking at mentioned ‘spatially anchored movies’ using the mixed reality feature.

Like it or not Facebook is probably going to be the main company doing good standalone VR headsets for a while. HP and ByteDance aren’t any better.

subnautica is still the best planet exploration game I’ve played. piloting the sub into the depths feels more like space travel than actual space games

top notch exploration, and the story was just the right amount.

Pika, w Starfield Paid DLSS Mod Creator Hits Back at Pirates, Threatens to Add 'Hidden Mines' in Future Mods
@Pika@sh.itjust.works avatar

I understand he’s mad that he’s losing money of a thing he made but, I think he’s going about that the wrong way. I would see that as more of a challenge then a “wow I shouldn’t do this”, I expect any person doing stuff like this would look at it the same way, free cracks and exploits are rarely about the money, it’s generally about the challenge of doing something that isn’t supposed to be allowed. Adding “mines” to try and sabotage it I believe will just make someone more apt to try and crack it.

Pheonixdown,

Reminds me of Game Dev Tycoon, the pirated version of the game would occasionally have your hit games lose a bunch of sales due to piracy.

echodot,

In Mirror’s Edge one of the jumps near the end of the game was programmed to be actually undoable. It slowed you down, just a little bit, so it was now impossible to complete the game.
