RaoulDook,

LOL they hanged that motherfucker for making some crappy DLC. How the mighty have fallen, in the world of game journalism. Where’s their review of Horse Armour?

RaoulDook,

Mine works fine without mods on the next-gen update. It’s looking much better than before on my widescreen monitor. I used to need mods to make it work in 21:9 and unlocked framerate, and now it’s all supported by the stock game so I’m pleased with it.

I did have a crash to desktop bug until I disabled the Weapon Debris graphics setting though. That was my one lame hassle that happened with it.

RaoulDook,

The Valve Index is here already and great. No bullshit like the Quest, just VR that works well. If you have a gaming PC with at least a quad-core and RTX 3060 then you should be good to get started with one. Mine works fine on a 9-year old gaming PC with 6 cores, 16GB RAM, and an RTX 3060TI. The motherboard is that old, the rest of the parts are newer (mostly GPU)

RaoulDook,

Yeah no shit. Standalone isn’t as good as wired because you can’t fit a bigass Nvidia card inside a VR headset.

RaoulDook,

Right but you can’t buy one of those, they aren’t on the market. What Valve has currently is excellent already but you can’t walk around town wearing it (as if anyone would need to)

RaoulDook,

No, the Index still has a higher resolution than the Quest2 and earlier standalone VR headsets, and the Index still has a class-leading 130-degree field of view and 144Hz refresh rate. It has excellent sound and the best VR controllers on the market. It’s still an overall great VR setup for those of us that have good gaming PCs.

I’ve been playing Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Cyberpunk 2077 in VR on my Index recently using mods. It’s fuckin’ awesome.

RaoulDook,

It was still better than no PC port at all. I enjoyed it for years before Remastered came out. Still haven’t played Bloodborne since it’s not worth buying a playstation for

RaoulDook,

You can get them both with the one license now, so you don’t have to pick. I like having the 2 options available and I don’t let my kids buy anything on the bedrock one where they have the Minecoin BS to buy stuff. They only have real money (paper) and no digital-compatible methods to pay for anything.

But the mods on Java edition are excellent, and the fact that it runs on any computer OS is a big plus. I can’t recommend anything more than Minecraft for a kids’ game.

RaoulDook,

You should be able to see the license in your Microsoft account. I think everyone got both licenses sometime earlier this year.

RaoulDook,

They both make a difference. 1080p is console TV gaming minimum resolution. A good PC can do much better. I like my ultra-widescreen 144Hz monitor more than a plain boring 16x9 high-res monitor.

But even games at 3440x1440 @ 144Hz don’t look as good as full-on VR at 120Hz and up. VR gaming for much time will make gaming on a monitor feel obsolete.

RaoulDook,

Well the joke is on them because I don’t have any of the “next gen” or last gen consoles and I’m not going to buy one. If they release it for PC then I may buy it after it goes on sale, but I won’t put more effort than that to get GTA6

RaoulDook,

You mean the Hot Coffee mod right?

RaoulDook,

Well you’re in luck because there are VR mods available free for the older Half Life games. Just get the Orange Box or something with all the half life backlog and VR mod them for free.

RaoulDook,

At some point the Late vs Suck balance will tip the scales of So Late That the Customers Lost Interest or Died

GTA 6’s Publisher Says Video Games Should Theoretically Be Priced At Dollars Per Hour (www.forbes.com) angielski

While Take-Two is riding high on their announcement that a GTA 6 trailer is coming, its CEO has some…interesting ideas on how much video games could cost, part of a contingent of executives that believe games are underpriced, given their cost, length or some combination of the two.

RaoulDook, (edited )

I’m still not going to buy games at $70. I don’t care enough about their BS to pay that much.

Plenty of great games in the $20 to $30 market all day long. I’ve put a few hundred hours into a handful of games that were that cheap over the last few months and have bought zero $50+ games. [EDIT: I did buy Zelda TOTK for $50, correction]

For example, I would like to buy Armored Core 6 but I’m not going to pay the “discounted” price of $53 that it’s available at now. I can wait until it’s further discounted, while I play lots of other games that I already have.

RaoulDook,

I actually did buy the new Zelda but I waited until I found it on sale for $50 a few weeks after launch. It was a temporary deal but I knew it would likely be the best price on TOTK for a long time given the trend of high prices staying high for Switch games. My kid and I are still playing it so it was worth the high price considering the market status quo.

RaoulDook,

How about I just don’t even click on the article at all, because I’m not going to watch a video that could have been an article.

“Hey guys here’s my video about why you should watch me talk about using emulation to play classic console games, be sure to hit that like button and subscribe to my channel BYAAAEEE!”

People should quit wasting so much bandwidth and storage on useless videos.

RaoulDook,

I lost all my Marathon disks but I do still have an original boxed copy of Halo for Mac OS on CD-ROM

RaoulDook,

No they only made Halo 1 for Mac. I played Halo 2 on Windows XP with a hack that unlocked its dependency on having Vista.

RaoulDook,

Yeah I did have all of those. Don’t know where they went but it’s possible they are archived on the vast Internets as well

RaoulDook,

I pre-ordered Elden Ring for a slight discount off of the launch price. No regerts whatsoever about that one. Best game of the 21st Century.

But yeah usually I get games well after launch on sale. Starfield looks cool but they can eat a $70 bag of dicks before I pay that much.

RaoulDook,

That author really has many gripes about the UI that have never bothered me. It’s never been much trouble for me to find and launch games in there.

RaoulDook,

www.curseforge.com/starfield

Starfield mods (a few) on Curseforge currently

RaoulDook,

My only issue with Nexus is that I have to create a login to download mods there. I don’t want to sign in to websites just to DL something. Curseforge is good for Minecraft mods and doesn’t hassle me with a login prompt

RaoulDook,

In the USA that would most likely fit the textbook definition of Insider Trading, which is bigly illegal

RaoulDook,

Well yeah of course I didn’t read the article. I don’t give much of a fuck about it. I took the headline at face value (“sold stock days before announcement”) and fired off my Lemmy content into the ass crack of this butt land. You’re welcome.

RaoulDook,

Dark and 1899 were both great. 1899 got canceled already though, because the Netflix people are stupid.
