Wouldn’t buy from there crap launcher anyway.

pelerinli,

Last I checked, you had to download and launch from Uplay even if you buy game from other stores. I haven’t buyed any of their games after they pull a stunt on Brotherhood anyway.

Blxter,
!deleted4407 avatar

Yes very true Ubisoft games take much longer to launch than others. I believe because of this. And by longer I mean like an easy minute longer.

DeathWearsANecktie,

Man I uninstalled Steep from my PC yesterday. I had to download an update to their shitty launcher and then login just to remove a game from my PC. I also have ghost recon on Epic games which requires you to use the launcher to launch another launcher to launch the game.

Buying the games is genuinely a worse experience than pirating them. Fuck Ubisoft but also EA and other publishers that do this bullshit.

carl_dungeon, w Video game makers aren’t catering for gamers with disabilities, study finds

Video game makers don’t cater to most minority groups because they’re small. If video game makers really cared about gamers rather than than money, then loot boxes, micro transactions, launch day DLC, pay to win, annual fifa and madden releases, and multiplayer only games wouldn’t exist.

This is what makes the small Indy game makers that make games for the fun of it shine, and I bet they care about their players a lot more.

TIN,

And you did!

paddirn,

I feel the need to add on to this as well.

clay_pidgin,

Well done!

We’re still playing Tower Climbing simulators?

Which, the older, the modern, or the far ones?

I’m glad the article mentioned flashing lights. I hate those so much in games, that and all the lens flare that’s being added in lately. I’m photosensitive and they can trigger migraines in me, and I’ve had to stop playing when some games when some stupid stylistic lens flare out of no where punches me in the brain. I wish games had settings to turn those off.

wccrawford,

I absolutely hate it when a game or movie puts up a fully white screen, especially after a dark scene. It’s just painful and stupid.

Well I know what game I’m not buying. This should just fuel the pirate ships I’d think.

Drbreen, w Thief Simulator 2 | out now

Looking forward to trying this out. That being said, it’s time Eidos/CDE picked up the Thief IP again…

Chailles,
@Chailles@lemmy.world avatar

As neat as it would be, I don’t think they could do it justice. Is the Thief IP really that valuable that a person couldn’t just make a generic dark fantasy game about being a thief?

Drbreen,

Surely you’re not comparing the scope of the Thief IP to something like this? It’s more than one person or even ten could make.

MomoTimeToDie, w Weekly what have you been playing discussion - week of October, 2, 2023

Just got project wingman since it released on ps5. Coming literally straight from ac:7, it’s insane just how good it is for an indie that exists because people wanted more ace combat games. Weapon selection is slightly more annoying, using the dpad, which is annoying since you have to take your thumb off the stick, but other than that, it’s the same stuff.

ezures,

As a big fan of the game, hope you enjoy it.

After looking it up, theres a new campaign thats ps exclusive, now I’m kinda envious

Mononon, w Game Maker's Toolkit: The World Design of Banjo-Kazooie

One day I need to get around to trying Banjo Tooie. I’ve always wanted to at least give it a shot. I finished Yooka Layler, so surely it can’t be that bad.

smeg,

It’s really good. Pretty laggy if you’re playing on original hardware though!

dsemy, w Video game makers aren’t catering for gamers with disabilities, study finds

Unfortunate but unsurprising, with the broken state many games ship in these days I don’t expect many publishers prioritize accessibility features.
