To me NoMansSky feels like singleplayer Minecraft but with planets and tasks/missions.
So if you arent fond of that, I’m afraid it’s not for you. You can play witg randoms but I would say this isnt the norm.

For me anything important is done in the browser (very rarely) and mostly on the phone.

I think a huge reason for this is how fragmented the linux ecosystem is.
A hundred ways to do simple things and even mundane things are suggested as “You can’t do X with tool X easily. Just install package Y instead because it can also do it”
But now you have another program installed.
Also some parts of linux have much drama around it (www.phoronix.com/news/Bcachefs-Fixes-Two-Choices). This adds uncertainty.

I think this will become true for a lot of the new gen systems in the future (starting from xbox1).
Same for PS4 maybe running easier on OpenBSD/Unix-like systems by having a similar kernel.

I played Halo 5 Forge on PC no scratch the Halo itch when MCC wasnt even announced yet (I felt so cool for knowing that exists).
If I could choose, I’d play Halo 5 Forge over Infinite. But I like the gadgets more than the booster feature.

It wasnt a rumor or hearsay but literally breaking a gentlemans NDA.
I havent played it but as I heard they requested not to show it and the journalist supposedly recorded whole gameplay and wrote about it?
Seems like a clear deal to me to cut of and ban his account for breaking an agreement for early access.

Reporting about leaks and rumors is totally fine. But that’s like being the primary reporter of a whistle blower

Regarding specs:
Even youtube creators supposedly had trouble (at times) running it at a consistent framerate.

Not that I had it when I bought it…It ran fine at 1440p ultra wide and (afaik) medium/high settings.

Instead they divide the playerbase, the game dies quietly (at worst) or slowly cooks until it’s released on Steam and then it either does the same there or maybe they get the hoped explosion if it wasnt already on EGS.

Edit: Best case would be platforms dealing in feature exclusivity like SteamOS, Steam Deck, forums, mod integrations, groups, friends, achievememts, rewards (u points/steam points) for cosmetics etc. instead of dividing player bases.
