I’ve been having a lot of fun with DS3 Seamless Co-op since it released recently.
It’s so much fun to play these games with multiple people. And it was surprisingly stable. We’ve had a couple of crashes, but not worse at all. The only boss that was too bugged to play was Wolnir. Luckily it bugged out so hard it beat itself.
I tried Dark Souls 3 co-op without this mod years back, since it has that password system, but the game fights back against playing that way. It basically made sure you got invaded constantly.
I think a large reason why many game devs don’t dev on linux is tooling support, not the speed of the runtime. idk if Unity and Unreal editors run on Linux but they do make it simpler to target linux or mac. Ancedotally, however, most Unity devs I see are either on Windows or Macbooks, not Linux.
Personally I’m a fan of DirectX and all the tools that come with it. Vulkan is a comparable API (though more verbose than DX11) and the tooling support for it is very 3rd party. I could switch to Linux for literally anything other than game dev because I’m just too into DirectX right now
Getting tired of these “shock” youtube channels drumming up drama for views. It’s only a matter of time before someone points the youtube cannon at these channels.
I’m not even gonna lie up until a few months ago I was somehow under the impression that Valve and GabeN weren’t that evil. Learning about his 6th yacht and how they intentionally made loot crates as addictive as possible and target young people kind of put things in perspective. There’s still no such thing as an ethical billionaire.
I see your point entirely and I understand why you feel that way. Just want to give you my friendly opinion on Coffee. I wouldn’t consider him a “shock” Youtuber, personally. He is an entertainer and a journalist, and pretty good at both IMO. He is definitely drumming up drama to a degree but I think this topic is especially worth the attention. I’ve watched the series this is a part of and can tell you that dude has done his homework. He included several interviews he did with different people that offers up a few pretty interesting perspectives. I recommend checking it out! At the end of the day, clickbait thumbnails and titles work well on YouTube and for some creators that otherwise might not drum it up it can be a matter of, “if you can’t beat em, join em”, but I definitely think the ends justify the means considering all of his work is what I and many others would call “fighting the good fight”.
For fucks sake, Coffee is an investigative journalist, and he didn’t drum up shit. The problem has always been there, you idiots are just too busy sucking GabeN off that you can’t entertain the possibility that he isn’t the second coming of Christ.
I sure hope CDPR is up to the task. Witcher 3 is one of the greatest games ever made, but I’ve been burned by Blizzard into knowing that a great trailer doesn’t portend a great game.
I booted it up recently, and it holds up really well. It hits a perfect balance of narrative and action while largely avoiding repetitive fetch quests and the like. And both of the DLC are excellent - Hearts of Stone has the best plot line in the game while Blood and Wine has the most beautiful locations.
I played the second late and then the third. I think it simplified too much some parts of the gameplay to please the mass, but the atmosphere and writing are still really good.
Yeah, I was very heavily into the game, playing for at least a bit every day, once the whole fiasco started I immediately stopped playing it. Some of my buddies mentioned they got rid of the requirement after that and that I should play again but honestly I don’t have any desire to touch the game after that rug pull.
Because they went back. But they added it on months after release. People outside of regions that PlayStation is in could not make accounts and straight up lost access to the game. Huge controversy and outrage. So eventually they undid it, but it was too late the damage to the game was done.
the most important thing in the case of a port from PC/Console to Mobile is not shown: the HUD / Touchscreen control... I really wonder how it will works with positioning during fight...
I have avoided spoilers for this game, as I’ve been meaning to get to it. I’m worried that isn’t gonna happen, and wonder if I will get the same experience others talk about from watching it
Not quite. But it probably also depends on how you play the game to some extent. If you approach it like CoD and let the story take you, you’ll probably have a good experience. If you go in thinking you can figure it out or outsmart it, you probably will and it won’t be as good.
I’m gonna be that person and say that if you haven’t made the effort to play a 12 year old game by now, you never will. Not belittling your effort to avoid spoilers though.
My friend, I still go back and beat NES games I never played before. Age doesn’t make a difference to me, it just isn’t high on the priority list
It isn’t super difficult to avoid, the game doesn’t come up super often. Typically when it does people want others to experience it blind and try not to spoil much
No, watching a gameplay won’t give you the same experience. Keep avoiding spoilers, it is really best experienced blind, although knowing there is something to experience might weaken it.
I’ve always known there is something to experience. Have a general idea from context clues as well, just nothing specific or certain. Maybe one day I will get to it. I’ll just jeep doing what I’m doing for now. Thank you for your response
Greed is a hell of a drug. Enshittification of the game industry means you buy the final edition after a few years at a sale and ignore any remasters/rereleases/remakes/reskins since they’re all obvious cash grabs and add less and less to the game.
The latest step to curb this is always online DRM for single player games. Easy off switch for old versions when you want the cash cows to buy the new one at full price.
