For any confused time travelers, no, Sony doesn’t own countries yet. Disney isn’t even there yet. We’re still a couple of years away from that, I’m guessing.
Oh nice, I picked this up a while back to play on Steam Deck. Very nice 2D Minecraft/Terraria-esque sandbox game. Looks like I’ll be starting a new playthrough for 1.0. 😁
Besides the Sony account drama (I don’t care about multiplayer), anyone know how this actually runs performance-wise? I usually assume these ports scale well since it’s a PS4 game but Sony launches have been all over the place.
happy to report so far it runs great over here. haven’t really seen anyone mention issues in the steam reviews either. not to say it 100% works for everyone but usually if there were something major it would be a hot topic by now.
As someone once said about director’s cuts with films: they’re a double-dip scam.
If the cinema and home media releases were the same, they’re just trying to make you buy the same thing twice by pretending that this is what the director really wanted it to be. The distributor really likes your credit card.
Having said that, Taylor Swift has something like 28 versions of the same album out and her stans are going crazy for it, treating them like they’re Pokemon.
Whatever floats your boat. 🤷♂️ Don’t let this old dude yuck your yum.
I don’t get it. Is it a new graphics update for the original game or for 1/3 of the original trilogy? Is it a new timesheet for current trackmania? Is it a new title?
I loved the original dessert, it was easily my favorite of the first environments.
Thanks! …and bummer. I’m not a fan of this iteration. Liked the crazy, almost photoreal style of earlier ones. The minimalist to-the-point aesthetic of 2020 one feels too utilitarian to me.
I guess that the devs needed to strike a balance between the old style and making sure it fits with the current style since I think you can combine tiles from all themes in a single map.
The original Trackmania game came out in 2003 and contained 3 environments with different cars: Snow, Rally, and Desert.
The latest Trackmania game came out in 2020 and as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original game they have been adding the old cars from the original game into the latest game.
Sorry I should have said 2003, it came out in November of that year and this is supposed to be a yearlong celebration of Trackmania. The earliest game most people have experience with was TMNF/TMUF which came out in 2008 and United does include all the old cars so maybe that is your reference date?
