So misleading that the RTX shots also use the re-mastered assets making it look like it magically makes the entire game higher res. Reminds me of those clickbait 3D modelling tips videos where all they do is use a ton of subdivision, yeh it looks smoother, its also got like 8x the geometry to work with.
as soon as I saw the promod logo I was stoked. I played 1.6 and made the transition to source. played competitively in leagues for a long time. never got into cs:go or 2. I would love to try this out.
Looks good. My short stint with CS2 didn’t exactly left me wanting more and since CSGO is dead this could finally be a way for me to play some CS again. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah you either play for hundreds of hours or you don’t. Shallow, though ? It’s got tons of great mechanics that make the moment-to-moment gameplay enjoying
Well it’s not titan-level but the ogryn towers over all the other characters (with a much higher camera when you’re playing) and while the hit reactions on alive enemies are not huge (though he can usually stop most of them dead in their tracks with a single hit when he’s not one shotting them), all of his melee weapons send ragdolls flying in the direction of the strike and his guns usually turns enemies to paste or at least dismember on death. Also when you need to carry a power cell or whatever, all the other characters can only walk but the ogryn can run at full speed.
IIRC even when not geared and not leveled he just plows through the hordes (he has a lot more health and toughness than other characters too which makes him the king of crowd control) ultimately though, the toughness mechanics force you to have at least one squad member close by during fights or you’ll end up dying by a thousand cuts
Edit : I think the main issue with the power fantasy in Darktide is that the game is 100% skill based. With enough game knowledge and decent mechanical skills you can avoid pretty much every damages or special enemies’ attacks. But that does mean that when you don’t have that knowledge you’ll get your ass handed to you even by a small horde of poxwalkers, regardless of the character (though the ogryn will die slower because of his bigger health pool and better toughness regeneration mechanics against hordes of chaff)
Well I’m one of the people who put hundreds of hours in the game and will probably keep playing it on and off for a long time. One of my friends is an absolute L4D2 junkie and he loves it too (even more than me actually) but it doesn’t work on everyone. Personally I really like how when everyone knows what they’re doing it really feels like you’re a real team even though you might have never met any of the other players before. A good chunk of the levels are quite corrydor-ey but the environments are very detailed and truly feel massive at times when you look up and see these sprawling messes of pipes, cables etc (and I think the fact that the layouts you navigate aren’t as complex as in L4D2 doesn’t hurt the game that much since it is a lot more combat-focused). Plus the Jesper Kyd soundtrack slaps.
I wonder which faction they'll use this time? The gameplay kinda depends on there being a huge horde of grunts to mow down, and they've now used the two non-humans factions that that description applies to
I'm not exactly up to date on my 40k lore, do the necrons have some kind of disposable chaff unit now? Back when I played they were the tankiest army in the entire game, which definitely doesn't work for a game in which you are usually carving through a massive mob
Space Marine 2 spoilersI was, of course, pretty gutted that they never showed up in the latter part of the campaign. I was playing through the campaign with a friend that doesn't know the setting much but who loves Terminator, and the instant I saw the signs of necron stuff going on I thought I was going to get to see him become Power Armour Kyle Reese
Basic Necron Warriors have always been innumerable and disposable.Their number is legion, their name is death. Lorewise gauss weapons shred their armor i guess, but it’s also been inconsistent as they are not always high AP on the table.
Usually if Necron Warriors are portrayed as unstoppable killing machines it’s because they were in their pre-5th edition lore where they were on par with space marines, and limited in number because it’s always on a Tomb World that is just starting to wake up.
Ahh, that thing about the editions tracks with when I was playing on the tabletop. There were a couple of necron armies in the group I played with and they were always right stubborn bastards to put down. They didn't hit that hard, but you sure as hell had to hit them hard if you wanted to make any headway
Half-Life Alyx looks fantastic. It’s a modern but faithful representation of the Half-Life universe. You can jump from HL2 to Alyx and feel like you’re part of the same narrative and story. Even though there are almost two decades in between.
Half-Life RTX has more polygons, higher-resolution textures and a much more resource-hungry lighting system. The entire Half-Life universe was cast as a cameo to star in another guys remake.
Mpk zachęca do przesiadki z auta do tramwaju, jednak podnosząc cenę biletów to jest nieskuteczne, ponieważ przejazd autem, nawet wynajętym czesto wychodzi taniej.
