Somebody was suggesting this was deliberately done to bleed Pocketpair out of money and halt development that way, patent cases take years to be solved, and all during this time they have to keep paying lawyers. Nintendo likely has a small army of in-house lawyers so it’s no trouble to them, but to their victims it’s life-ruining.
Yeah except Palworld has joined Sony for their multimedia franchise, so potentially they can get a lot of monetary and legal support from that. Nintendo took way too long to actually do this frivolous lawsuit.
They also sold 5 million copies in 3 days, and who knows how many copies since then. They can afford to pay good IP lawyers for a long time, if needed.
So far I’ve traded in all my Playstations for the latest versions. But this price-hike and no disc-drive are a dealbreaker. Guess I’m going for a new gaming PC and a Steam Deck now. Too bad Sony, you messed up.
They still should, it would be a great way to highlight how futile Nintendo's efforts are. Unfortunately, there's a good chance they'll just forget about doing live communication like this anymore.
I never realized how stupid GeForce Experience was until I built a PC for someone and realized I’d have to explain to them that they need to register an account on a special software just to keep their GPU driver updated.
Even with the insanity of Nvidia on linux, all I have to do is sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia once and let dnf handle updates automatically.
I’d love to play it with my niece and nephew if the game had a split screen mode. Not going to happen if they need a Switch and a copy of the game each.
Splatoon 1 actually had local multiplayer - it was 2-player only, but for those of us with kids, it was good enough. Split screen multiplayer in Splatoon 2/3 would’ve been great.
Years back I was part of a focus group for VR and one of the questions they asked me was how accepting I would be of ads in game and well they got the most heated response from me with that one.
Ubisoft says it was trying to put an ad for Assassin’s Creed Mirage in the main menu of other Assassin’s Creed games. However, a “technical error” caused the promotion to show up on in-game menus instead. Ubisoft says the issue has since been fixed
So they fully planned to roll out full screen pop up ads, it was just supposed to be in the main menu, not in-game. Fuckers.
“Look at all the games you love! Please forget we’re a massive corporation which just moved 70 billion dollars closer to a monopoly and would certainly never abuse that position uwu”
That was awesome. I imagine if I worked for Activision Blizzard, that knowledge of Bobby Kotick leaving plus that welcome video would give me some feels.
I had to do some digging on the name since almost every search engine was just throwing articles like this when trying to find a voice clip of him, he voices the statue “Arnold” in this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=myZz37olVf I think his voice will be pretty good to adapt to Mario. Here’s his IMDb page www.imdb.com/name/nm12041073/
That youtube video is gone… I’m guessing it’s “Ask me for directions Arnold”, right? That’s the only Arnold I can think of in GI. www.youtube.com/watch?v=myZz37olVfI
That’s actually awesome for Kevin Afghani because he was a lot of fun in this role. Hoping to see more of his work in the future.
It shouldn’t be when they were talking about making that shit retroactive for games that were already released. Unity proved they cannot be trusted. Besides, developers should move to other engines for the sole reason of sending a message to the other guys in the industry like Epic’s Unreal Engine. Pull shit like this and you’ll lose out on the developers. Make them realize that Unity was a failed experiment and no one wants to be like them.
Sure, buying Nintendo would be a win for Microsoft, but Nintendo would gain absolutely nothing from the deal. Sure, there are people like myself who loudly and rightfully complain about Nintendo's business practices, but at the end of the day, it took until THIS year for Playstation 5 to finally outsell them in a single year, and they're not even CLOSE to matching total unit sales, and Xbox is doing worse than THAT. Add to that Nintendo's software attach rate, and as much as I don't like HOW they do their business, they're WILDLY successful at it and making more money as a function of their costs than anyone else in the industry, so they can't be faulted for continuing to do what is working.
I honestly don't know what Phil Spencer thinks would be different than the previous meeting in another sales proposal today, especially given Microsoft's INCREDIBLY weakened industry market position compared to Nintendo's. Microsoft is only able to approach the idea from a position of power based on its market capitalization funded by its other businesses - in the gaming industry, Nintendo simply occupies the more advantageous market position.
