gmtom,

Idk man, old games just dont have the same wonder and magic they used to and new games are just trying to suck as much profit out of me as they can.

gmtom,

But that doesn’t give security updates.

gmtom,

Bro the quest is only 5 years old. And stop excusing shitty practices just because they are the normal.

gmtom,
  1. I’m not excusing shit
  1. Here is an excuse.
gmtom,

something thats irrelevant

its perfectly relevant to the conversation.

Get out of this reddit mentality you have where every interaction you have with another person on the internet is an argument you’re trying to “win”.

gmtom,

This is a dumb take.

If there was a gun that 1 tapped every enemy in the game and had infinite ammo and maybe even auto aimed for you, that would suck a lot of the fun out of the game wouldn’t it?

Would you not want that gun to be nerfed or would you want every gun in the game to become a 1 tap super weapon?

gmtom,

The guy I replied to said it’s always better to buff under performing weapons than nerf OP weapons. I employed a line of logic called a “logical extreme” where I devise an extreme scenario that both follows the original logic and is also an untenable position, thus showing that the original logic does not hold up and therefore shouldn’t intrinsically apply to the realistic scenario.

Because in both my extreme and the real scenario, you have a weapon that was so good it made most other weapons not worth using and made the game easier than intended. In that scenario you could either go and buff almost every other weapon in the game and then make sweeping enemy balance changers to make them harder in the face of all the buffs, or you can simply nerf the one OP weapon. And I think the more sensible option is clear.

gmtom,

Nope, I want a balanced sandbox. If I went into a lobby and everyone was using the 1 tapper (because why wouldn’t they) Then the game would be way too easy and I would have to do closed lobbies and go out of my way to find people that want to run the game without the 1 tapper, just to have fun.

If you’re bad at games you can just play on easy mode.

gmtom,

Lmao get fucked.

I was a committed fan back when they were so proud of being an indie studio. I paid for sponsorship because I loved supporting them as creators.

Then they sold themselves out, changed sponsorship to a subscription service, tried to squeeze every last penny out of their audience with adds and shitty merch and low quality loot crate shite, all the while they massively expanded their productions as fast as they could, way beyond their means.

And anytime they did some shitty business practices that actually caused some controversy they essentially said “fuck you, we’re right” even when they completely shat on the legacy of Monty, fucked over his Widow, and fired the guy that was essentially his apprentice because he disagreed with all the changes they made to his visions and all the cost saving measures they implemented that tanked that quality of RWBY.

They leadership and key talents all had their heads so far up their own assess they thought they could do whatever they want and get away with it. Whether it was abusing their staff, lying to their audience, being openly homophic and trnasphobic or grooming 16 year old girls.

Honestly it’s a tragedy that it took so long.

Although I do feel slightly bad for the tiny handful of their staff that were genuinely nice people, but overall this is a good thing.

gmtom,

Yep, I hate spending a decent chunk of time going somewhere to collect some good weapons, then like 2 encounters later half of them are broken.

It MASSIVELY slows down the pacing of the game and makes it feel like such a slog.

gmtom,

No factorio would be this except its a positive review.

gmtom,

No it was them proposing changes that they were saying would make the grand easier but would objectively make it worse for everyone who isn’t getting 10kill + game every game (and a 10 kill game is pretty rare even for good players) but really that was the straw that broke the camels back and it was backlash fro. Years of shitty practices.

gmtom,

I get it’s a meme but I usually play on 144fps and when I go back to 60 fps I literally don’t notice a difference even down to like 40-45 I barely see much difference. 30 is noticeable and a bit shit, but my eyes get used to it after like 30 mins, so not a big deal.

gmtom,

🤓

gmtom,

I guess that depends on what you mean by fixed. Like No Man’s Sky added shit tons of content. Whereas cyberpunk just kind of stabilised the games performance and made minimal changes to the actual gameplay and content.

gmtom,

Now imagine people wrote an article every time a game came out on PC but not consoles.

gmtom,

This is a rare console W over PC. All your games are just there. No additional launchers or log ins, no waiting 30 minutes for the game to update because you havnt opened that launcher in months.

gmtom,

Yeah that’s the point. On consoles they do, on PC they might not if you havnt opened the launcher in a while.

gmtom,

Ah I forgot mentioning a good thing about consoles would bring out these people

gmtom,

Not really how that works, but I get some people have a pathological need to shit on consoles for no reason.

gmtom,

No it’s not, different hardware isn’t equivalent to different launchers. Because if it was you could say the same exact thing about PCs.

The point is, on console whether you play a ubisoft game or EA game or Microsoft game, they all are launched from the same native launcher.

And I literally don’t even own a modern console and play all my games on PC, so have no buyers remorse. So please stop with this infantile platform war bullshit. I’m assuming you’re a grown-ass man, so please act like it.

gmtom,

Yeah no shit it doesn’t update games when it’s powered off?

gmtom,

I’m not though. Unless you open every launcher for every game whenever you open you PC then you still have that problem.

If I’m using my xbox regularly than that one game I havnt played in 8 months is going to stay updated. The same isn’t true for PCs. I use mine every day, but the other week when I went to load up world of warships for the first time in a while I had a 12gb update because it has its own special launcher, so I just said fuck it and went to a different game.

gmtom,

But they don’t that’s the whole point.

gmtom,

It really is just an innate need isn’t it?

gmtom,

I know this isn’t a popular opinion but I’m actually pretty optimistic about this. Blizzard has been shit for a while and this will at least change things, even if it might be for the worse. Also give me their entire catalogue on gamepass pls.

gmtom,

Me too, I know it’s not a popular opinion on here (for good reason) but this should put more pressure on PlayStation and drive competition there, make gsmepass more attractive and hopefully shake things up at Activision blizzard which could go either way, but worth the risk given how shitnthey currently are.

gmtom,

tbf I saw the new title and immediatley thought “Is this a Summoning Salt video?”
