New Details on Valve's New Game 'Deadlock' - Insider Gaming (insider-gaming.com) angielski

As already leaked, the game is a 6v6 third-person hero-based shooter. Heroes include magicians, robots, creatures, humans, and more. There are currently 19 different heroes, each with different abilities and playstyles that you’d come to expect from a MOBA including ranged, healers, tanks, assassins, etc....

Apparently valve doesn’t really assign teams to certain projects. People can work on what projects they like and things organically get people behind them if they are looking good or interesting.

This means games that do get completed are often really good and ones that weren’t looking good fizzle out.

It’s an interesting approach for sure. I think it makes sense rather than steaming ahead with a bad game. On the flip side what could be an interesting product may die out.

It’s happened several times to half life 3 apparently.

If they want to sell skins that are purely cosmetic I don’t have an issue with that. Some people have money to drop on stuff like that and it helps fund the game.

Loot boxes on the other hand can absolutely get fucked. It’s gambling, plain and simple. It has no place in games.

The key is making the dungeon/boss fun. The quests are just to lead you through the content.

If you don’t like fighting through dungeons and fighting bosses then the game may not be for you.

Like with GTA getting to places needs to be enjoyable.

Picking up charmander and using them as a flamethrower. Cooking Pokémon. Using them to water your farm.

Pokémon is one of the most wasted IPs I’ve ever seen!

You get meat when you kill them which you can cook.

You can pick them up and use them as weapons.

It has a lot of cool features actually.

We went through this in RuneScape with auto miners. You just randomise locations and times slightly and it’s almost impossible to tell the difference.

It’s so easy to get around.

How to let my kids find quality games on Android? Right now they only find the pay to win / ad riddled games.

My 9yo daughter has a tablet with family link, so I can monitor what apps she wants to install. As the garbage games are mostly at the top free, she keeps asking for games that I reject, in most cases because it’s riddled with ads....

Play pass is really good for games but my kids still constantly want shitty ad filled ones tbh.

Setting up adguard DNS worked really well but it can break games if they’re dependent on ads. Which isn’t a bad thing in my opinion.

The big difference is Reddit isn’t taking a portion of their wages. It was purely moral outrage.

Things are different once money is involved.

Choosing an engine is a business decision for a lot of people and using a free alternative that isn’t quite as feature rich sure seems like the better option now.

Which is exactly the plan. Short term cash boost and loss of trust followed by a new CEO who builds that trust again. Rinse and repeat.

The current CEO gets a golden parachute and the investors get some quick cash and likely buy more stock when the value falls.

A lot of people get very upset when games break their immersion.

So I guess you could argue being able to carry unlimited items does that. But so does carrying 15 two handed swords without a backpack.
