That would imply that, at some point in the future, Epic might not be able to cover their devs through the EGS and have to close it. Which would probably mean you lose access to games on there.
I played this on Game Pass (Gamepass? I don't recall how they brand it) years ago and had fun with it. I'd enjoy playing it again, assuming I could forget my previous playthrough.

I think I bought this game in summer for 15ish bucks and now they‘ve practically given it away on Steam last sale (3 bucks) and literally on Epic lol, absolutely fantastic game btw, great co-op fun
True, but digital ownership is a fickle thing that depends in large part on how much I trust the seller. Between a >50% discount on Steam and a free game on Epic, I would still choose Steam every time, because I would feel like I “own” that game more than I would on Epic (where I would still hesitate to buy anything more than the 2-3 free games that would interest me there).
