Which year was the most stacked for game releases?
I’m thinking 2015 - Witcher 3, Undertale, and Kerbal Space Program are all classics. Fallout 4, Arkham Knight, and Cities Skylines were all excellent too, though fallout 4 and Arkham knight aren’t necessarily the best games in their respective series.
What's your favorite case of a game making fun of you?
Ex-PlayStation boss says the games industry is "littered" with Fortnite clones and "people trying to do Overwatch with different skins," but keep dreaming if you're just trying to get "big sacks of money" (www.gamesradar.com)
Darkenstein 3D free on Steam
A retro shooter inspired by classics like Wolfenstein and Doom. Think of it as a tribute, a love letter to the games that defined a generation, with a few modern touches of my own. It’s tough, fast, and demands skill, just the way those old-school shooters did.
Is there any way of trying Battlefield 6 without buying it or paying £17 for a 1 month EA Play Pro subscription?
Call me cheap, but I hate EA and don’t want to give them any money on principle, but I’d like to try BF6 and see how it’s changed since the beta.
Who's your favorite female protagonist in a video game? (Add pic of character in response)
Mine is Joanna Dark (Perfect Dark N64)
The Video-Game Industry Has a Problem: There Are Too Many Games (www.bloomberg.com)
It’s true. Reviewers rave about a game, I pick it up and play it, and they’re raving about a new one before I’ve finished that last one. I’ve got a list of 20+ games that came out this year that I still haven’t gotten around to. I might get through 5 of them before the new year. And you know, if wouldn’t hurt my...

Sable is free on Epic until tomorrow (store.epicgames.com)
I love this game. It’s a cell shaded coming of age adventure where you ride your scooter around the desert and explore ruins or meet unique characters. It’s easily worth full price imo so this is definitely a steal.
What's an absolutely medium quality game? Not great, incredible or terrible or any single ended extreme. Dead medium quality

Given the swathes of posts about bad behavior from big companies, I figure we could counterbalance that with some positivity about stuff the smaller guys made that often costs us less too.
Abuse 2025 is a modern port of the original game from 1995/1996, updated to run on modern systems and with new features like high-resolution graphics, controller support, and more. (github.com)
Can’t for the life of me figure out how to set up a co-op server despite reading the readme, so I can’t vouch for that new feature, but this updated fork is solid for single player.

Long time no see! I really need to stop promising to write about specific games. I get too in my head about it, then I feel obligated to write instead of wanting to write. This is supposed to be a fun personal writing project, not work!...
Upscaling is actually good (as an option)
I've seen a lot of people lately saying that upscaling (fsr, dlss, etc.) is a bad thing, including some calling it 'fake frames', which is probably due to them confusing it with frame generation....
