I use backloggery.com, but I see a lot of people using backloggd.com these days. Backloggery is a bit more old school and relies a lot on manual entry, so I’m sure some of its competitors are better about linking up to things like your Steam account. You can also track a lot of this stuff on HowLongToBeat.com, which is mostly seeking to answer the question in the URL but also lets you log a review of the game, etc.
Backloggd works great for me because I want both game/library tracking and user reviews, including my own once I finish a game. If someone only cares about the former, backloggery.com is probably just as good.
can never complete - for games that don’t have a real end like mmos or multi-player only games.
Dead Games - for games that no longer work anymore because the publisher shut down the servers. This is a reminder to not buy these kind of games in the future.
I also add non steam games like Playstation and Switch games as shortcuts to a desktop files named after the game that point to nothing. Then add it to the categories to track.
This would be a nice solution if my games was only on steam, however i also use GOG quite a lot. So yeah as u say a more dedicated solution would be nice.
I’ve seen that there are posts of game trailers polluting the posts feed on this community. Can some action be taken on that or have them moved to their own community?
Are you high? I'm posting trailers to trailers that just launched, there have been massive shows the past few days, and I'm very active in the comments. How are you in the games community and don't know this?
There are multiple event right now, showing a lot of new games. So it was kinda expected. I’m considering new rules about that, should be part of the new rules proposed in the community overhaul.
In the meantime, I’ll ask him to consolidate such event in a single megathread.
Edit: after a quick discussion with simple, he/she/they will consider a megathread for the next big event. The current posts will stay up.
If a game, application, device or EULA changes in a way you find unacceptable, after you’ve purchased it, you should be able to get your initial purchase price back. And if you paid with your data, you need to be able to demand they delete all your data. I think that law would be entirely reasonable and would do a lot of good.
I played Fallout 4 back when it came out. About 10 hours in I was doing some quest approaching a building with some guys I had to kill to get a thing. And I realized I wasn’t having fun.
I thought about what else I could do. Building settlement wasn’t fun. The quests stories were dull. I didn’t like any of the NPC characters. So I stopped playing figuring I would come back latter.
It’s been years and I still haven’t bothered returning. A I’ve been playing Bethesda games starting with daggerfall.
I don’t believe so! Though, I’ve had a few network problems sometimes when posting on Lemmy, so I would not at all be surprised if a post just didn’t upload one time
Right now my goal is a year. At that point i want to consider if where my life is going if i can keep going, but judging how relaxed my life is, i expect to be able too
They nerf you if you join in on a much lower leveled friend. The issue doesnt exactly exist on DS1/2 either, as by now there are players of all levels. You’ll just get different match ups.
DS3 won’t match you with invasions that are far from your level either, but you can play with friends if any level with a password.
Elden Ring also matches you near level but you are adjusted to be near the host and invasions also play off multiple other factors so you aren’t RL20 invading someone on NG++. Its probably the most complex of the soulslikes so far with the matchmaking.
Bloodborne had something too but I dont remember cause I dont have a PlayStation or emulator :(
