Day -9 of posting a screenshot from a game I've been playing until I also forget to post screenshots angielski

Metal Gear Solid from their recent Master Collection, Volume 1. Played mostly via Steam Link and a little bit on Steam Deck. This was playing through the Japanese version (it has pretty much every version included). At this moment I think Snake’s saying “that takes care of the cremation.”...

I said the same thing about Daytona USA. When I booted up a GameCube for the first time and saw PSO I was amazed, although the GC was closer hardware wise to the Dreamcast, which we had.

Grass? Trees? BIRDS?! I remember the grass in Oblivion melting dual GPU setups back in the day.

Thassodar,

Page 4: GorillAk47 is beating on the door in a rampage. I had taquitos for lunch today. I’ve synthesized a cure for the T-virus and it’s in the crucible right now. I just hope the door holds and GorillAk47 doesn’t destroy the lab because this is the last chance for humani–

Zoom out to a fully destroyed lab with blood everywhere

Thassodar,

Both Turnip Boy games (Tax Evasion and Robs a Bank), short fun, games with decent replayability. The writing is what makes it work though.

Wayfinder, don’t have a full opinion on this yet but it would have been interesting to see it if it had been released as an MMO as planned, the world is very pretty.

Crime Boss Rokay City is pretty fun, at launch it was crap but they’ve moved more towards a PayDay angle with heists and is pretty decent now.

Thassodar,

I’ve successfully left Gamepass for over a year and came back recently, no problem. All my saves were still on their cloud from two years ago, and I had access to games I wouldn’t have considered buying, like Lies of P.

Thassodar,

Just got access to Baldur’s Gate 3 through family share. Reminds me of Neverwinter Nights from the early 2000s, but I haven’t played a game like it since (unless you include Dragon Age).

Also getting back into Binding of Isaac and Slay the Spire.

Thassodar,

Regarding BG3: Do you feel you missed anything not playing 1 & 2? I’m usually an “in order” purist, but I have made exceptions.

Thassodar,

Hmm I used to play old point and click Sierra games, so the interface can’t be worse than those I’m assuming. The question is do I have the patience now to figure it out lol

Thassodar,

Ever considered the Command and Conquer Red Alert series? For me Red Alert 2 is the most memorable, but all of their songs are very metal and industrial sounding. I’d recommend even just checking out the menu music for Red Alert 2, it goes hard.

Thassodar,

What a nostalgia hit! Throw in some random ground troop sound effects and you have full ASMR for some 30+ year olds around here.

Thassodar,

I have put at least 30 hours in it, and found it fun to find different ways to do each run. I’m excited about the update because no matter how hard I try it gets pretty formulaic when doing a run when you have something solid in place that’ll get you to the endgame.

Thassodar,

I keep seeing this article title and wouldn’t it have been easier to say “last year most games played were over 6 years old”?

Thassodar,

Generally speaking if the company offers a Discord that’s a good place to meet people and group up. I did it a lot with Remnant 2.

EA just added classics like Dungeon Keeper, SimCity 3000, and Populous on Steam (www.theverge.com) angielski

There hasn’t been a lot of good news out of EA lately, but here’s some: the company just launched a bunch of classic games on Steam. The new (old) releases include nine games in total, spanning franchises like Dungeon Keeper, Populous, and SimCity....

Thassodar,

This one and SimCopter took way more of my time than any of the other Sim games by a mile. I was especially surprised because SimCopter was full 3D and my old hardware could run it.

I don’t know how well a remaster of either would sell, but I’d buy them. SimCopter could even be a mobile game at this point.

Thassodar,

Fuck yeah! I almost bought this on PS4 last month!

Thassodar,

Helldivers 2, Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time (40 hours in currently), Dead Space 2023, and surprisingly Rogue Company.

Been playing Rogue for 2-3 years so I’m pretty damn good at it, which is the reason I keep going back.

Thassodar, (edited )

Oooh I have an idea: instead of in-game MTX tie it to a soda product, like Coke, and make it that every time you get more Coke PointZ you can unlock a new in-game skin that makes your car into a rolling advertisement for Coke.

The only way to get the right amount of Coke PointZ is to buy a 24 pack a week for 3 months, or a 20 oz bottle a day for 5 months, and half the PointZ expire after a month and a half.

Coke, you have my contact info.

Thassodar,

Frostpunk and Cyberpunk do it pretty well.

Game Pass availability on all consoles. I’m calling it.

Thassodar,

I feel like Outer Worlds was their take on Fallout, and this is their take on The Elder Scrolls. From the video they put out the other day, I’m down to clown.

Thassodar,

Geometry Wars was the best! And in each Project Gotham the had a new version!

Thassodar,

Good luck, I also bought it on recommendation and did not enjoy it. If you’re curious why let me know, I don’t want to shape your opinion on the game with my opinions.

Players who don't like survival games as a genre: Which survival games are your personal exceptions, which ones have you enjoyed nonetheless and why? angielski

Personally, I really don’t like most of these games due to the tedium and frustration that comes with hunger/thirst mechanics. Most of the exceptions that I do actually like either make up for it through something else that elevates the experience enough - or they either don’t have these mechanics or allow for players to...

Thassodar,

Give Frostpunk a try. It’s a good mix of city builder and survival. Darkest Dungeon is also good, but more unforgiving.

Thassodar,

I know I’m late but I had that same issue with finding out how to demolish roads (I ended up looking it up). Ironically my most recent obsession with it, where I sunk 30 hours in a week, is also my 2nd time giving the game a chance.

I think my initial complaint was the controls for playing with a controller. Coming back to it with keyboard and mouse was great. If you have any questions let me know, sometimes you gotta set it down and come back to it.

Demolish roads is a small red button below the row of buildings. You should see the roads button that looks like a bunch of lines, and to the right of it should be the small red demolish roads button.

Thassodar,

I’ve been playing the first one solo a few days, pretty fun. Can’t play online, though, yar har skibbity dee and all that.

Thassodar,

Replace Warcraft 2 and Quake 2 (Counterstrike 1.3 was my Quake) with Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 and Nox, and I was you.

Thassodar,

Keep me in mind if you’re looking to sell that 4070 in the future. I’m still running a 2070.

Thassodar,

Doesn’t Battlefront 2 have a co-op mode against bots though? Last time I played it was that mode and still fun as hell. Can’t be sweaty if it’s co-op.

Thassodar,

The Rocket League devs made it work somehow.

Thassodar,

In 2 didn’t they approach you with water and stuff?

Thassodar,

Play it on PC with a PS5 or Xbox controller. That’s what I did.

Thassodar,

I misread it. My bad.

Thassodar,

If you like old school, but new, games I have to recommend Octopath Traveller 2. I started it 3 days ago and already have 30 hours with no signs of slowing down.

Thassodar,

Average playtime without side quests I’ve seen about 60 hours. I’m at 40, there’s 8 characters, and I’ve only been focusing on 4 of them. My playtime may be off, though, because there were a few times I left it paused for a few hours.

Thassodar,

Keyword: new. From now on people can do it, but prior to now it wasn’t possible from what they’re saying.
