Did someone say reinstall Deus Ex?

NakariLexfortaine,

You got a real funny way of spelling Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

Iron and copper.

I swear to god I know every corner of that damn game backwards and forwards and it still calls to me.

I’m absolutely loving it, the combat is great, love the world and graphics, love the exploration.

PushButton, do games w Is anyone else playing Avowed? What are your thoughts so far?

I am reading those comments and I feel good with $90 bucks in my pocket.

I could get almost 3 good games with that. What a time to be a gamer with all those indies.

Let’s go Songs of Syx, X4 foundations to support the devs, and a little bit of Caves of Qud with that?

You still have some change remaining to buy a snack.

I’m about 6 hours in, and I’m loving it so far. The combat is very unique and feels great. The way the levels wrap around vertically often reminds me of Dark Souls. You can see some vestiges of the previous designs the game went through before it landed on this one, but what they’ve got is very good.

toynbee, do gaming w I don't think these hills are silent after all

Every time I see a post with this caption, the environment largely looks fine, but there are consistently two issues:

  • Poor seating (especially visible in this picture, where I didn’t notice a chair and sitting on a fixture would strain your back over time)
  • Neck strain (usually by having the TV sit on the floor, so you’d have to crane your neck to see it)
caut_R, do games w Monster Hunter Wilds | Review Thread (89/100 OpenCritic)

I cannot for the life of me get to a stable 60 fps on half decend settings, I cancelled my preorder and I‘m waiting for the DF review… I might as well grab it on a discount in the future when I have future hardware… The game itself was fantastic, it just ran like ass.

psx_crab, do gaming w Weekly “What are you playing” Thread || Week of Feb 23rd

Started to replay Dishonored again to catch up with the story before playing death of outsider. Such a great series. .

TrenchcoatFullofBats,

I wish I could play Dishonored again for the first time. So good. Have you played Prey?

psx_crab,

It’s a good thing i have a weak memory ehh 🤣

I think i’ve played most arkane game up till prey, i heard deathloop is their last good game but it’s also a hit and miss. Prey is super good as well, i think i did like 3 or 4 playthrough, still haven’t play mooncrash though but it’s definitely on my list.

miracleorange, do gaming w Game Development

Dammit, I lost the game.

elfpie,

Lose it again. It sounded meaner than I wanted. Good. Last time I realized you could lose the game even without knowing you are playing. So sad.

Rimworld multiplayer.

I really want to check that out, but it is incompatible with my favorite mod: Save Our Ship 2. I refuse to give up SOS2 just to play with another human.

Fizz,
@Fizz@lemmy.nz avatar

Its pretty smooth but I’ve had a lot of desync issues because I have a long list of mods I try to play with.

They do PvP on the mod. Its pretty cool you have 4 teams and each player controls 1 pawn and the fight for objectives and capture and craft their way to victory.

Armok_the_bunny, do games w What is your favorite mod?

I’m going to have to go with either the Create mod or Apotheosis, both for Minecraft. Both of them feel like they could just be part of the vanilla game, and at this point it feels wrong and weird for me to play the game without them installed.

Minizarbi,
@Minizarbi@jlai.lu avatar

I wanted to mention Create too.

Armok_the_bunny,

I genuinely consider both mods to be more faithful the the vanilla experience than some the actual features added in more recent updates.

sheridan, do games w Favourite Metroid game?
@sheridan@lemmy.world avatar

It’s really hard for me to name a single favorite Metroid; I love most of them. In terms of non-linear open exploration, Super Metroid is probably my favorite, followed by AM2R. But I also really enjoyed the boss fights in Metroid Dread; they were really challenging…for me at least.

ClipperDefiance, do games w What is your favorite mod?
@ClipperDefiance@lemmy.world avatar

I think it’s really impressive what the community has done with Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Project+ is basically the current “flagship” modpack. It builds on Legacy TE (which is built off Project M), so there’s loads of new content and more Melee-like gameplay.

Another Brawl mod I like is Brawl -. Its main thing is that it balances the game by making everyone’s movesets overpowered.

Changing genre completely, I really like the Gay Awakening and Gay Fates mods for Fire Emblem: Awakening and Fire Emblem: Fates. The main thing the mods do is add new romantic and platonic supports to the game. The focus is, as the name implies, on adding gay and lesbian content, but it also adds straight content to a lesser degree (like for the characters that can only support with Robin or Corrin).

VerilyFemme,

Ooh I forgot about Project+! The only way to play Brawl. It turns it into possibly the best Smash game to date.

GrindingGears, do gaming w Don't forget to undervolt your gpu and change fan curve

I undervolted my 5800x3d (each core individually) and it cut the temps by quite a bit, without affecting performance. Actually if anything you could say the performance arguably increased because it was no longer the hot little hog it was ootb.

luciole, do gaming w Don't forget to undervolt your gpu and change fan curve
@luciole@beehaw.org avatar

Do you know of good beginner friendly undervolting guides for AMD & Nvidia? This would go a long way towards people heeding your advice.

crony,
@crony@lemmy.cronyakatsuki.xyz avatar

I followed a random guide I found on the internet for amd.

In amd case you can do it from their driver by going to performance tab and choosing tuning.

There you will find gpu setting, set them to manual and from there you can start changing fan speed and voltage. Voltage you change by 50mv first time and if stable by 25. When you come to a point where your game/program crashes you use the value from before that didn’t crash the game and that’s it.

As for nvidia I don’t know because I don’t own one and don’t have the money to own one ( they are 1k euro on average here for 4070 and 2.5k for 4090 on average ) only thing I know is that you will need msi afterburner.

Coelacanth,
@Coelacanth@feddit.nu avatar

I do it with MSI Afterburner, then do stress tests in 3D Mark to make sure it’s stable. As long as you’re not over-volting you’re fairly safe to experiment. You can either do a flat undevolt, or you can set up a custom curve. Also like another commenter here said, changing the fan curve to actually engage the fans sooner helps keep the temps down, usually the default fan curve prioritizes silence to a disturbing degree.

AceFuzzLord, do gaming w What's your "this is totally fine and I'm going to have a great time" FPS (refresh rate). ?

So long as the game doesn’t lag enough that I have input lag, I’ll gladly play through a game at prettyich any FPS.
