My producer, Neigsendoig, might have a good start, as I edited for him in the past.
What he tends to do is be more analytical with his work. However, in my personal opinion, based upon what you’re going for, I would personally say to find your speaking style, and then advertise to that specific demographic. Sendo (as Neigsendoig is usually referred to) tends to stick with what he does, especially when it comes to his discussions.
Long story short, find something you’re passionate about, and talk about it. YouTubers tend to well when they stick to what they’re best at.
Evil Genius 2. I loved Evil Genius 1 as a kid. It was far from perfect and had a lot of bugs, but it was a blast. I’m fully aware there’s a lot of rose tinted goggles going on for it in my mind. But I thought the new one would fix problems and be more enjoyable. It did improve on the first in a lot of ways, but it was so so grindy.
In EG1 you could send you minions into the world to steal money and complete missions (that gave points or loot, like stealing the Eifel Tower). I’m EG2, they kept this mechanic, but anyone you send to the world map is just gone. They cannot come back. This leads to just an annoying constant flow of recruiting more minions, training them to upgrade, and them being sent to the map forever to never return. It would perhaps be slightly better if you could increase the rate you recruit minions like the first game, but instead they always come at a constant rate and there is a button to recruit more but it’s buried in a menu. So many things in this game are buried in a menu.
Another frustration, they added a feature to automatically tag enemy agents that come to your base (to be killed, captured, distracted, etc) but they’re all under different research tiers. Why require the research at all? Right clicking agents and saying “tag for capture” is just pointless busy work. Even in the original you could hold control when you did it and it would flag the whole group. Not anymore. You can only tag one at a time.
There are just so many little things like this that made the game so annoying to play. I wanted to like it. But I just couldn’t enjoy it. The new art style is worse, too. It keeps the spy fi aesthetic but it’s much more cartoonish. The game is more diverse which is nice, the original was like all men. I also liked what they did with John Steele, the main antagonist more or less. Canonically you beat him and killed him but they pass on his mantle to new agents and train them to be like him. And they’re relatively weak, but like a constant threat.
That's good to hear! I'm looking forward ot trying it. I used to love mountain biking when I was younger and I was reeeaaasonably good at it, but I've had enough sports injuries in my life so that's at the wayside by now
Yeah, it’s definitely possible. Online brackets are free sometimes, but don’t expect to never pay anything. Most events have a nominal fee to create a prize pool.
First thing first, figure out what you want to compete in. You probably already have a list in mind of some games you like to play casually or spectate, right?
Then, you need to find the community for the game(s) you’re interested in. I think it’s usually going to be found in a Discord server these days. For example, if you’re looking to get into a fighting game, this page might be a good start: wiki.supercombo.gg/w/…/Discords One you find community, they can help find events to enter, give advice, share resources to learn from, and of course practice with and/or against you.
For some games, even better if you can find an online community that’s specific to both your game and your region. You can start from the general community, ask around there, and hopefully drill down to something closer.
Another note on paying: you can find opponets or groups online to play serious matches with for free, before you enter anything.
But paying an entry fee is not gambling at all - you will lose that money 100%, if you’re not already experienced playing against serious competitors. Think of it more like buying a movie ticket than a lottery ticket.
Castlevania Lord of Shadow 2. Loved the first one and 2 was just bad. I wish they would have kept it as a God of War clone, with stunning visuals, game play and music
Oh cool, I've never even heard of this one. Allowing the player some actual control over the z-axis is such an obvious thing to add to an AG racer now that I've seen it, but I've never even considered it before
As far as I know you need a 360 emulator to play it. Very interesting and unique racing game with fun customization options. This day and age the lifespan may be more limited but it still some fun on the couch with a buddy.
Strive 2.0 probably means they’ll expand the game’s life like they did with REV, by making a REV2 update instead of shifting to a new game altogheter. The new update will probably cost around 30/35 euros. I’m good with this, I think GG:ST has so much life left in it. Incredible how it has been around 5 years already.
Even this is only a guess. There are a lot of reasons why developers got away from this model, and there are one or two reasons why I’m the weirdo who wants us to return to it.
Did developers really shift away from it though? I feel like season passes and updates brought the concept closer, in fact, by prolonging a game’s life without having to buy the same game three or four times (which is what happened back with Street Fighter 4).
Season passes and updates are what they’re doing now rather than splitting their player base with a new SKU. But of course, that new SKU comes with advantages like being able to freeze the game at a certain point in its life.
yeah, but at the same time no one usually plays the older version of games such as SF4 and GGXXAC+RR! Rare exception is Street Fighter Alpha 2, simply because it was a different world and americans were too used to that one version.
So at that point might as well have one very long game that is frozen at the end of its 5-8 years old life cycle.
No one plays the old version now because we have no choice. Plenty of people would have preferred to go back to Tekken season 1 and Dragon Ball FighterZ season 2, but we didn’t get that option.
I would be incredibly surprised if they charge for the update. It makes no sense to do so, you just split the community. And they announced 2 new characters(at least), so V2 will come with a new season pass they will charge for.
I also presume the V2 is the release of the new ranked mode, which hopefully fixes the garbage tower and it’s floor mechanic(preferably just delete it and give us a ranked queue with elo please)
I think you had to pay for the Rev2 upgrade? I understand what you mean though, they should probably include it in the new season pass. I really hope they release the new ranked mode way before the next year.
I’ve played a bit of it ( haven’t finished ) and so far it’s pretty good. I totally wish I didn’t see a playthrough of their other game, Detention, around 2018, so I could go in for a completelt blind playthrough like I am for Devotion.
