I have the exact opposite opinion, heh. Sniper elite drove me crazy when I'd carefully line up a shot and be just too far inside cover and shoot a wall I couldn't see because my freaking character was in the way
Ocarina of Time. It’s one of the few Zelda games that I just didn’t enjoy. I’ve had a lot more fun playing Twilight Princess and Wind Waker more than Ocarina. I’d play Adventure of Link more than Ocarina.
Skyrim. Mostly all the RPGs like that. Never understood the hype. I did try to like it, but it wasn’t fun for me at all.
And that’s weird, I really love the series as a whole. OoT feels way too bland to me and… I don’t know, I can’t stand its characters, its boring empty environments (plain, ranch and lake for example), its overwhelmingly grey colour palette.
Majora’s Mask’s one of my favourites though. But yeah, I’d rather replay a Link to the Past or any of the other 3D games over OoT.
OOT is ok but most people that played wind waker or twilight princess first will have a hard time getting into it. Most 5th gen games have aged pretty poorly and need a solid dose of nostalgia to fully enjoy.
Yeah N64 and PS1 just have this element of jank from the transition to 3D. While a great time for games, none of them have aged as gracefully as the 32-bit games from the previous era.
I started playing the last of us 2 remastered. I didn’t play the original (but did play 1 remastered). I don’t know if it was modified “for modern audiences”, but it would depend a lot.
Having more characters from Asian or African descent would please me. Making it look more like the (in my opinion) excellent tv series would be less great, but understandable. Removing the whole “military is bad” arc (like they did in the tv show), would suck.
Xenosaga 2 was the first game I went to GameStop and bought on release day. It wasn’t big enough for a midnight release so I just got there at opening. I still think about that game often and would love a remake. KOSMOS was a great character and the antagonists were great across the board.
The game for me that I loved but never hear about is the 2d platformer Thomas Was Alone. Really fun gameplay and a fun little story that was gripping, especially considering you’re just playing a bunch of different shapes.
I don’t know about spoiling enjoyment per se, but I do recommend at least playing 6. It sounds like you’ve already gotten through the early games. Are you enjoying yourself, or are you burning out on it?
I started using gyro on the Steam Deck recently. It is pretty good for fine tuning your aim. I have been playing Overwatch with it and while nowhere near keyboard and mouse, it’s noticeably better than gamepad alone. I can still only play a select few characters with it though.
My guy, I have 6 meme communities under my belt. I’m not controlling anything serious. Also comparing me to Stalin is a bit insane considering the worst I could do is ban someone. Moreover, I actively look for others to work with and do not like being a moderator. I do it because no one else does but it’s stressful and I would very much rather just post shit.
Genuine curiosity, why does it matter which platform it comes out on? Asking from a comlnsole-only point of view. I only game on PS5, so I’ll never get to play Xbox-only games. But if you’re on a PC, you can just get the other platform?
Those companies have changed their own launcher so many times as well that it doesn’t give me any hope that they will continue to exist or continue to let me borrow the games I bought from them.
People say that theoretically but not only Steam doesn’t stop anyone from selling in other places, it delivers better services than any other platform (except maybe GOG that has the big benefit of being DRM-free)
The Steam “monopoly” ends up being less detrimental than the “competition” of locking each game to a different platform.
If it was only on their launcher I wouldnt care. Its the little exclusivity deal on epic that annoys me.
Its one thing to only sell your stuff on your own personal store. Thats fine, whatever. But to create fake exclusivity on pc? Nah fuck off dude, especially from ubisoft
It’s “exclusive” on a different free platform that doesn’t have any extra requirements. Sure, it’s worse than steam in some ways but choosing not to play the game because it’s only on Epic is pretty dumb, honestly.
Choosing not to use epic branded things because of the companies pretty nasty decisions and financial backers is completely justified. The world is not always about getting things for free.
It will be because of the “First Run” deal that Epic offers, so you’ll get to play in 6 months. I don’t blame the studio for doing it though but it’s not ideal for some.
