catloaf, do gaming w Anyone know of any good gaming platforms that pay you to play?

Yes, there are companies that do QA. But you don’t really play the game, and it’s very rarely done remotely.

I’d love to have and collect DRM free titles that last even after a platform is gone,

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-DISC

M-DISC (Millennial Disc) is a write-once optical disc technology introduced in 2009 by Millenniata, Inc.[1] and available as DVD and Blu-ray discs.[2]

M-DISC’s design is intended to provide archival media longevity.[3][4] M-Disc claims that properly stored M-DISC DVD recordings will last up to 1000 years.[5] The M-DISC DVD looks like a standard disc, except it is almost transparent with later DVD and BD-R M-Disks having standard and inkjet printable labels.

Those will outlive you.

You can get an M-DISC-capable burner on Amazon for $35, and M-DISC media for about $3/pop, each of which will store 100GB.

GOG is probably more-suited than Steam for this, since it’s aimed around letting you download the installers, and they make a game being DRM-free a selling point and clearly indicate it in their store.

But you can just install a DRM-free Steam game — there are some games that don’t have any form of DRM on Steam, and don’t tie themselves to Steam running or anything, if you’re worried about Steam dying — and then archive and save the directory off somewhere. Might need a bit more effort if you’re on Linux and trying to save copies of Proton-using games, since there’s also a WINEPREFIX directory that needs to be saved. And then you can stuff that on whatever archival media you want.

I’ve copied https://store.steampowered.com/app/333640/Caves_of_Qud/ to my laptop, which doesn’t have Steam installed, for example. Just requires copying the directory.

Now, that’s not going to work if a game makes use of some kind of DRM, but you specified that you were looking for DRM-free titles, so should be okay on that front.

Also there’s no such thing as indie switch games. Which limits the market and means that all the really interesting games aren’t even on the platform.

Co sądzisz o połączeniu studia plus praca? Same studia to lipa totalna aktualnie.
6. Studia pozwalają zdobyć znajomości, rowniezprzez targi pracy. Popatrz, czy uczelnia oferuje jakieś koła naukowe, wsparcie itd. Poczytaj opinie o uczelniach. Napisz posta na mediach społecznościowych uczelni i zapytaj ludzi o opinie o danym kierunku.
POWODZENIA. Na pewno to ogarniesz.
PS.

There was an old computer game Warlords. It was turned based and you can even play it online nowadays.

Warlords

Ashen44, do gaming w need advice, how to get good at monster hunter

As others have said, the old monster hunter games are best played as a turn based battle. Take the fights slow. Stay safe and watch exactly what the monster does. Only go in for an attack when you know it’s safe. You might time out on a few monsters the first time, but every hunt you will get faster, as you figure out both the monster and your own moveset. The caveat though is you need to make sure you’re paying attention! Just going by feel will get you wrecked and you won’t learn anything doing it. Always be watching and analyzing. You can spend 10 hours throwing yourself at the monster and get 10% better, or you can spend 1 hour learning the monster and get 50% better.

Another thing to be aware of is that these games are capital S Slow. Fights are going to take forever, and that’s only going to get worse when you get into the guild quests, which are intended to be played with 4 person parties. Singleplayer health scaling was not added until World. If you’ve been wailing on a monster and it’s just not going down, don’t get discouraged. As long as you’re doing damage and not getting hit, you’ve got 50 whole minutes to kill the monster. You’ll get it eventually, I promise. Just keep at it and at some point you’ll break through, and the thrill of having conquered what once seemed so impossible will bring you a rush like no other! Good luck, and happy hunting.

sleepybisexual,

OhThat explains why the guild ones just won’t die. Khezu with starter gear was also stupid bit even 1 star had that
