Banrik, do games w Lo-Fi Games know you've spent a billion hours with Kenshi, so they're working on making the sequel's discoveries even less predictable

I'm excited for kenshi 2, even if I'm beyond wary of it being made in Unreal engine...

SupraMario,

I just want it to be coop.

We need a c\KenshiVibes here. Game slaps.

That would actually be awesome.

I like Kenshi a lot. But it really feels like Gothic in that the start of any given character more or less feels identical. Same steps to get to the point where you can start doing the stuff that actually makes the game really fun. A lot of CRPGs in the 00s/early 10s had that problem and Kenshi ramps it up to 16.

people just don’t want to work anymore

NO

THEY CLEARLY FUCKING DO

BUT YOU FUCKING GREEDY CUNTS KEEP FIRING EVERYONE AND TAKE FAT FISCAL QUARTER BONUSES

AND THEN IT’S A 19 STEP INTERVIEW PROCESS WHEN THEY TRY TO LOOK FOR A NEW JOB

AND THAT’S IF THEY’RE “LUCKY” ENOUGH FOR THE DOGSHIT AI TO RANDOM.CHOICE() THEIR RESUME OUT OF THE 900+ OTHER DESPERATE APPLICANTS

THEN THEY FINALLY SOMEHOW GET AN OFFER: $1.89 per full uninterrupted hour at your desk and a single bag of skittles (opened)

Sorry for the caps, I’ve been in the job market recently and it’s fucking brutal. I have to constantly justify my value as a human being and then just face rejection after rejection.

NotMyOldRedditName,

You left off the part where after you finish the bag of skittles the lay you off again.

billwashere, do games w Microsoft layoffs are reportedly underway, with ZeniMax and King employees losing their jobs

I am so ready to just cancel my game pass. This shit just pisses me off.

Stovetop,

I’m honestly surprised people still have it.

aksdb,

If it fits your gaming profile, it’s a pretty good deal.

Stovetop,

I just think it stopped being a good deal the moment they implemented their first price increase. That signalled that they’re willing to do what every other subscription service does and raise prices as arbitrarily high as people are willing to pay, with the enticement being that once you’re in deep enough, you can’t unsub or you’re left with no games.

If you have copious time for gaming and are always on the hunt for sometbing new, is it still a better deal than buying every game at release? Sure, at least for now. But the patient gaming strat at least gives me a backlog of affordable titles too long to finish them all, and I can also return to it at any time without worrying about titles eventually disappearing from a subscription catalog.

aksdb,

If you go for subscription, you accept that the stuff is temporal. Or at least you should. So it should make no practical difference if a game vanishes because it gets pulled from the catalog or if you decide to cancel the subscription because you consider it too expensive.

Zenimax?

I thought TESO was actually rather profitable?

cyrano,

It is profitable

Remember kids, don’t buy into hype anymore. Hype is a marketing tool. They don’t have to make any promises that a game will be good or even come out just because they hyped you up for it. Don’t allow yourself to be excited for anything until it actually releases.

ms_lane,

“When you preorder a game you’re just committing to buying something some assholes in California haven’t even finished working on yet”

Punchable faces for $200, Alex.

ChickenLadyLovesLife,

Are you kidding me? That’s a daily double punchable face. The mouth is smiling but the eyes are making sure the battery cables are firmly clamped on your nipples.

CmdrShepard49,

It almost looks like an AI generated face. Definitely uncanny valley territory.

SmoochyPit, do gaming w Riot will let gambling companies sponsor League Of Legends and Valorant esports teams

Wait, so let me get this straight… this AAA studio, which is a subsidiary of Tencent, which sells microtransactions for sometimes up to nearly $100, and which has incorporated gambling elements and predatory design in their games for years, has now allowed sponsorships with gambling companies in their esports scene? Color me surprised!

Oh, but it’s really for the benefit of the community and players, since it would happen anyways. And It’s certainly not primarily motivated by the huge profits it could rake in. Right. How noble of them.

I’m sure they have a history of treating their players and employees very well, too.

(obligatory)/s

baguettefish,

Just think of all the incredible engagement players will feel as they gamble their latest limited edition skin away which they bought with their mom’s credit card or their first independent wages.

But hey, at least the slot machine has all your favorite characters and also streamers who have sold their soul. Market research shows that people with dysfunctional impulse control are much more easily exploited that way.

Life can be cruel.

What a cancerous website on phone.

echodot,

Works fine for me. What’s your problem with it?

littleomid,

Probably android with adblocker? On iOS it’s almost unusable. Over 50% of screen at any time is covered with ads.

monkeyslikebananas2,

There are ad blockers for iOS

littleomid,

Then please do recommend me one that works. Because neither Adblock nor anything else I tried work well, or at all with Firefox. Doesn’t change the fact the website is extremely unpleasant to use without adblockers.

Quicky,

I use Wipr on Safari on iOS. It’s not perfect, but nothing is.

monkeyslikebananas2,

I have ad block pro and I also use a VPN that offers ad blocking.

afansfw,

Vivaldi browser has one built-in. It doesn’t always work and some websites just block you for using adblocker, but at least this article looked fine in it with no ads.
