Yakuza: Like a Dragon. I've been meaning to get to it for a while. Still early on in the game when it's still introducing new mechanics, but I'm enjoying it so far. I was kind of skeptical if I'd enjoy a turn-based RPG Yakuza game as much as I'd enjoyed the previous ones, but the combat is winning me over. Being able to summon a flock of pigeons to peck enemies unconsciously certainly helped.

H_Interlinked,

I’m 20+ hrs into it. The silliness just keeps ramping up, especially now that I’m collecting “Pound Mates”.

Honestly, I’m kind of interested in how to do this

Every machine I own, Windows or Linux gets four games.

Deus Ex

System Shock 2

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force

All are DRM free and capable of running on the most potato 🥔 of all modern hardware.

Still Baldur’s Gate 3. I don’t know if I commented last week but I finished my first play through (chaotic neutral). Was really fun and already started 2 other runs 👀, one githyanki run with custom Tav, Lae’zel and the gith hireling and a lawful good run with my half-orc monk oc.

Having some fun in palworld with a friend, but I’m obssessed with Immortal Life now, a farming game with a wuxia theme where you can use chinese magic to help you water crops and stuff, very cute and a nice QoL for these games.

Mainly Genshin/HSR/Arknights

Just finished Yakuza Gaiden so not much to do. Was great to play Gaiden though, it was invigorating to not feel like I was on a daily grind.

A lot of my gameplay is gated by friend availability atm, and they have not been available.

  • Analog triggers can only be held to 50%
  • Controller disconnects if you move the cable 0.2 nanometers
  • Sticks drift in random directions and can’t move left or right properly
  • Face buttons are squishy and can sometimes get stuck inside forcing you to hold it

Yup, time for a co-op party.

aeronmelon,

Time for Multiplayer GoldenEye!

JoShmoe,

No that’s for the N64! You’re thinking of Metal Gear Solid

Back in the day i had this absolute savage friend who only had 1/4 Gamecube controllers that had the analog stick grip intact, and i remember it being unbearable to play with

Skua,

All of the PS1 and PS2 controllers I had growing up lost the rubbery coverings of the analogue sticks because they were apparently exactly what my baby brother craved when he was teething

kratoz29,

Yup, time for a co-op party.

Well, that is not bad then, some laughs can be there, player vs player though? We are talking about possibly rage quit.

XTornado,

The winner gets it to give better opportunity to the rest.

5 bucks says this controller was blasted by overspray from a paint gun

That’s just a layer of dust from sitting in the attic for 20 years.

This reminds me, I wish Xbox kept the black and white buttons when they added the shoulder buttons. There have been several times I was playing a game and thought about how useful it would be to have two more face buttons.

Controllers look like this when they first emerge from the cocoon. They typically harden and gain their distinctive colors after a few hours.

Man, I have been so into EVE Online lately. I don’t know what it is, but it’s got its hold on me. Slow, incremental improvements that pay off later, with inventory/time management and a solid corp (EUNI) just ticks all my MMO boxes.

Just beat the Telltale Expanse game (plus DLC). Just goooooood fun.

Beyond that, trying to wrap up Grounded.

feoh,

I saw so many Meh reviews of The Expanse. Glad to hear someone who enjoyed it! I’m a HUUGE fan of the books and TV show and would love to play the game at some point!

lobster,

It’s not the best game ever, but I do love me some expanse, so I had to play it. It’s a prequel to the show/books.

cashews_best_nut, do edc w 13 year old Zippo

I’d love a nice simple zippo like this. Fire is what makes us human so I’ve always felt a deep connection to it. It wouldn’t just be useful for so many things it’d also be great to fiddle with, whip out light it flip back and pocket. I also love the smell.

I need a Zippo!

@finn1sher@mstdn.ca avatar

@cashews_best_nut @fujiwood If you do want a lighter like a zippo, make sure to get a butane insert, not the original zippo insert! The butane ones are easier to use and don't leak fuel.

Note that many of those new zippo inserts are made in China. Countycomm sells great "peanut lighters" which are small, circular (pill container style) and completely waterproof. They don't leak fuel either and are made in the USA.
Zippos are just such a great form factor for pocket carry

hatedbad,

butane inserts are great for a lot of people, but there’s just no beating the nostalgia of that og flame. if you use your lighter regularly it’s easy enough to keep it topped off every two weeks or so.

zippo also sells a small fuel canister that is airtight, if you keep a bag on you that’s a great way to have a backup

constantokra,

You have a recommendation on butane inserts? I’ve gone through a few, and they’re great until they don’t work, and that doesn’t seem to take too long.
