I didn’t get many bugs with later content, but a big problem with later content is that the player gets immensely stronger but enemies stay about the same. It also becomes way too easy to pass out of combat checks. I doubt this will be fixed any time soon, maybe in the future they will add a new difficulty.
I think it’s sorta okay that the enemies don’t get too much stronger, especially since (at least for casters) a lot of the added power comes in the form of gaining access to stupidly OP spells like Hypnotic Pattern. I don’t think it would be very fun if enemies started using tactics that amounted to “Hahaha, I rolled higher initiative so now you don’t get to play for the next three rounds while I can do whatever I want.”
That’s how my first try at one act 1 boss went. They multiplied with illusions and those cast hold person on each party member and then just killed them all. I didn’t try that boss after until way later
Yeah, I feel like having someone who can cast Magic Missile is almost mandatory for that fight, simply because the illusions have 1 HP, are very spread out, and Magic Missile can target multiple enemies and is guaranteed to hit. It’s perfect for killing almost all of the illusions in a single turn.

I had to reload multiple fights because the enemies just killed 3-4 of my partymembers before I had my first turn. Random Initiative is really not something I like in Games.
Even if enemies got a lot stronger you’d still have numbers go up, and less superficially you’d still have significantly more options than a bunch of level 1 characters. I don’t want to feel like Superman when the roleplaying situation is supposed to feel grim and insurmountable. My mood to use caution and diplomacy is really killed when I know I can destroy any encounter. I also just want a fun tactical experience in addition to the roleplaying elements, is that too much to ask?
Currently, the game on tactician, even without abusing resting, consumables, or strong multiclass is too easy in my opinion, and this is coming from someone with no prior DnD experience. I do have a little bit of Pathfinder experience as I got WotR during the Steam Summer Sale.
Thing is, it could be a good idea if they didn’t have such strict parity rules - play the game, but not necessity with the exact same features (ie, disabling split screen, but still allowing co-op). Heck, that could even have been a selling point to get people to “upgrade” to an X.
They pitched parity in the beginning which is what I based what I thoughts on, 100% agree with you on that. Even if the dropped the expectations on how well it’s supposed to run… Drop it to a 720p console
Yall windows gamers be acting like the only computers people own are windows. It’s a huge pain to run a number of games on Linux. And don’t get me started on Mac support.
It’s a lot better than it used to be, from a Linux perspective. I switched to Mint a few months ago and it can be a bit fiddly, but I haven’t had any real issues with any of the games I’ve tried. Admittedly, that’s all through Steam, but still.
It sounds like a dumb idea, but I kind of see where he's coming from at least that it would be easier for developers. Admittedly consoles today are a lot closer in specs than they use to be, but you still have issues crop up like Larian Studios having to delay BG3 for Series X because they have to get split-screen working on Series S before it can launch. So I can see the appeal of only having to develop games on one console. But I don't really see the benefit to players, since whoever made the one console would have a monopoly on the market.
What are all of your general expectations for Starfield? I feel like in my corner of the internet, people are generally being very skeptical and pessimistic. I think this is fair, based on the last few years of Bethesda.
I didn't love fallout, but mostly because of the dinky crafted weapons and their handling and the fact that you almost had to use VATS to make it work. They're damn good at making giant worlds worth exploring, and the gunplay looks a lot more fluid than fallout. I like the premise of highly customizable shipbuilding a lot more than fallout's settlements, too. It's far from guaranteed to be great, but "sci-fi Skyrim with enough engine improvements for guns to feel OK" is extremely promising to me. There's a reason Skyrim is still selling copies a decade later when the mechanics are super limited by age, and if they're able to bring the same world building to space exploration I'm all for it.
I'm not going to get it. I just don't like the bethesda style for their recent stuff. I didn't like fallout 4 at all. My favorite bethesda game is tied between daggerfall and morrowind.
I’m a lifelong Diablo fan, so I’ll probably pick this up next week. One thing that bugs me is that folks keeps saying “it’s just cosmetics”. To me, this ignores the fact that, since Diablo 3, your character’s look is part of the fun. That cool armor you just found looks cool too. Now I worry that the gear is going to look boring so that you’re subtly nudged in the direction of buying cosmetics.
Basically, I still want to be able to play dress-up.

It’s a little confusing because of things shifting around but my understanding is that this the launch of Microsoft’s debloated and handheld gaming targeted version of Windows. Basically they saw what a better experience SteamOS was and realized it was a problem.
I think it’s actually the opposite, as they claimed to have optimised it for gaming with interface and QOL catered to the purpose. That’s more bloat when Microsoft does it.
I’m not a MS fanboy (incredibly far from it) but your comment sparked a vision in my head of an immutable variant of LTSC/iot that function liked a Debian or arch base with vendors building x window interfaces on top of it i(the name is already there). interfaces that are hardware or platform specific (e.g. here’s your Ubisoft skin, here’s your Epic Skin, etc…).
If only we lived in a tech utopia instead of… whatever the fuck the mba’s have spent the last few decades shitting out.

I dunno, it literally just looks like a mod for BF3 or BF4. Which would have been fine for just a graphics update and some QoL improvements back in the day, but now all this will be is a Skinner box designed to force you to buy as many microtransactions as possible… Which begs the question of why bother playing this when you could just play BF4 which seems pretty similar but won’t be harassing you endlessly to give EA more money?
That’s how I see it too. Having fun with BF2142 and BF3 playing with bots. I have no intention of giving them money for this expensive online-only spinoff.
