JackDark, do games w Baby Steps Launches On PS5 And PC Next Summer

It’s so stupid! I want it!

spankinspinach, (edited ) do games w Lessons Learned From Cyberpunk 2077's Terrible Launch And Hands-On With Phantom Liberty

In a whimsical twist, I just popped my ps4 copy into my PS5 this last week to see how it had changed. I can tell you, it has VASTLY improved. The game on PS4 was constantly on limp mode, crashing somewhat often. Looked like junk, not much to redeem it. Managed to get through the whole game, but never really explored or adventured much past the story - was just too painful to try to do much more than that.

The PS5 version is actually so much better, and even visually reaching the point of impressive. The gameplay feels like I imagine they meant it to, including some fun gun- and knife-play. I’m also enjoying the story more now that I’m not constantly worrying about a crash. Do recommend a revisit if you’ve played and were disappointed (don’t worry, I recognize my PS5 may be what made the difference haha).

So those people had lofty and unrealistic expectations, huh? I can only speak for myself and I can say: the game was ok - not great - but ok. The interesting Story helped me with the fact, that the city itself was essentially „dead“. But back to the expectations: Many of the really disappointed gamers expected a Cyberpunk GTA - which CD Project obviously did not deliver. Maybe those gamers will get a better experience soon - who knows.

Until then Cyberpunk will remain a stain on CDPRs reputation sheet for a lot of people.

Minnels,

This. I expected that walls were breakable and more interesting gear/level system in a world full of life. I had fun with the game since I did a lot of the hacking stuff which is a bit different from anything I have played.

I will revisit the game with the new patch since I have got a new graphics card since then and not tried a single raytracing game since then. Also looking forward to the updated skilltrees. % stuff is really boring and lazy design.

I haven’t had an iPhone since 3GS, but I am excited for this.

I don’t plan on getting an overpriced iPhone, or an IOS device at all for that matter, but console quality games, native on mobile is exciting.

Do you think these will actually run on the device, or is Apple betting on streaming here? I don’t see how they would capitalize on developers being able to develop for iPhone, while they dropped game support on Mac years ago.

geosoco,

It's likely running native as they've been touting the ray tracing of their new gpu. They've pushed a number of games in the past to show off hardware updates or features, so that's probably what this is about.

Also, they didn't drop support for mac, they just focused on their own gaming API. They continue to get new games published.

hydroel,

You’re probably right! I wonder how well it can run on an iPhone when devices dedicated to gaming barely manage decent framerates on modern games at 800p. And maybe Apple hasn’t actually dropped support for game development, but I don’t believe they have been very active on that front either, did they? Looking at a list of games released on macOS in 2023 isn’t very impressive, and all games released for x86 (so, prior to 2020) won’t work on modern devices.

This seems like such a small market to me…

Who wants to play these games, hasn’t, doesn’t have access to another console/pc, has a wireless controller, has enough time to actually sit down and play these on their phone, and has their power cord on them (because you know these games will eat that battery alive)?

Maybe this is all setting up to allow iPhones to AirPlay games to an appletv or something.

What other mobile console do these run on? Steam Deck? This will target more casual gamers in a device they already own while steam deck is more for enthusiasts.

hayes_,

I think I’m questioning the size of the market for people who want to play these games on mobile in the first place.

How many casual gamers have a controller adapter for their phone, etc?

Maybe I just lack vision.

All I wanted was the ancient horse armor to summon Epona. I basically don’t ever use horses because it’s just so Inconvient to

HellAwaits, do gaming w Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

lmao The whole game literally feels like DLC to the first game

erwan, do gaming w Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

Yeah, considering it’s built like a DLC to BOTW it makes sense to stop here.

johnthedoe, do gaming w Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

It’s such a perfect game already. I really should finish it. Dicking around for hours on end led me to put it down and take a break a month ago

Same. I am ~99% done with everything except the gerudo area, including the depth. Interest dropped like an anchor

No plans for DLCs on this console.
They’re absolutely going to re release it for the next system.

brsrklf,

It’ll have a new t-shirt for Link to wear, with the new system’s logo on it.

You’ll find it in an equally lore-friendly purple chest with big “EX” letters on it, of course.

WarmSoda,

Yeah I hated that.
But I’m really glad they included almost all of the toy figures and dlc armor in the sequel. You don’t ever see that in games.

WagesOf,

And they'll force you to buy the base game again.

WarmSoda,

Well yeah. That’s what a re release is.

WagesOf,

That's not what dlc is nor is it required on any other platform. Backward compatibility then a graphic re release, not just "here, same shit, new platform" like fucking 'tendo

WarmSoda,

The game, Wages. They are going to re release the game on the new system. And then have dlc for it.

WagesOf,

While every other console just let you play the game you already own and releases dlc.

Nobody was taking about re releasing anything at all until you chimed in like I'm an idiot for not understanding what dlc is.

How can there be no trials of the sword?!?

WarmSoda,

I think the shrines that take everything away from you are this games version of that.

prd, do gaming w Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

I’d love to see a new version of the Master Sword trials with all the new mechanics.

wahming, do games w The Stone Breaks On Gargoyles Remastered Next Month

I just want a session 3 of the actual animated series…

What, The Goliath Chronicles wasn't good enough for you?

JK, I know it wasn't.
