Why would anyone be excited for a series that now peaked 21 years ago, and has only had 1 other release in that time?
I understand why youre not interested and I also don’t care for it, but it’s disingenuous to say it isn’t one of the most hyped games of all time. The first trailer has 268 million views on youtube and that’s only on the official channel. People are excited.
Understandable. It was a huge step down from SA in terms of world activities. 5 only managed to rise to levels above it in the online portion (and only through hella years of additions).
4s driving and shooting was better than SA but everything else makes SA better. I wanted then to marry the two together for the best GTA possible but they never did and probably won’t ever
I’d take GTA 4 or 5 over San Andreas, easily. And at this point, a large part of the appeal is GTA Online for a ton of folks; not me, but a ton of folks.
I liked the DLCs as well. I know why they don’t do them anymore, as online is a money printing machine. But I really liked them and wished they had done more.
The world exists, so just add a story with a bunch of missions => nice DLC. But since they make such an obscene amount of money from online it makes no sense for them to do any more.
Had my money on a 2027 release for the PC after the first trailer dropped in late 2023. Looks like i wasnt pessimistic enough even though i accounted for a console exclusive year and a rather big delay. Maybe by 2028 the AI bubble will have popped and GPUs are affordable again.
Even if the AI bubble bursts by then, chuds will probably come up with some new bullshit to keep the market inflated, just like scalpers, crypto miners, and NFT weirdos before them.
The first time it was announced for Holiday season 2025, right?
Anyway: For AAA releases I always assume [Announced release year + 1 year]
It always get’s postponed for one year. So far every occurence has been confirming my hypothesis.
We’ll see what comes out because firing people for trying to form a union is extremely illegal here and could lead to every fired employee getting a year’s pay in one go
Allowing the working class to never have any kind of power is the highest priority of the ultra wealthy. That’s the only real threat to their own position and gravy train.
Soooooo they’ve crippled their game making divisions with layoffs that obliterated employee morale so that they had more money to throw at AI, and now they’re demanding that this same section of the company offset even more of their AI costs because it’s one of the few parts of the company that actually makes money?
Reminds me of how Hasbro is milking WotC for all they’re worth while destroying faith in the brand.
makes me wonder if the acquisitions were just a win/win strategy - acquire all these studios, milk them with unreasonable demands, cut the workforces constantly, then close up the studio but keep all the ip.
I feel sad that the Captain is used to stand for the morally wrong side in this joke. Especially from this scene, I faintly recall it was about not doing enough to save or help some people.
They are asking the impossible. If they refuse to take any risks on new titles they will not have breakout hits like they are wanting. They have enough studios that you can have some stinker releases that get offset by the surprise hits.
