Comms Array was pretty cool though.

I've been grinding that Diablo 4 and enjoying it a lot.

After I finished the campaign, I made it to World Tier 4 (highest difficulty) pretty quickly, and I'm now level 97. I fulfilled my dream of becoming a bear that punches millions of demons, so that's pretty cool. Although I can't be a bear all the time though, which is pretty lame. In town, I'm forced to run around as a boring human.

The next season begins in 10 days, and I don't know if there's a short break in between. Level 100 should definitely be possible, and a few other "milestones," but I don't know if I manage to do everything I'd like to.

In Diablo 3, I'd usually play at the start of a season for a few weeks, and then take a break until the next one, so I never burned myself out on it. Since I started Diablo 4 at the tail end of the season, I'll probably end up playing a lot longer than I'd usually do, so burn out is definitely possible for me. A new character should hopefully freshen things up enough, and a friend might also play with me.

Network performance was much better this week, although there are still some hiccups here and there, mainly during the Legion events.

CharlesReed,

Unless they change it with the upcoming season, there's no downtime between seasons for Diablo 4 like there is with 3, but they do give you the whole season to sort through your inventory in the eternal realm instead of just 30 days.

You mean when your seasonal characters become non-season and your items are mailed to you? In the beginning I was sorting through stuff, still keeping some items, but later I just destroyed almost everything, since I don't play non-season anyway, so I'll probably do the same here.

It sucks, that there's apparently no rebirth feature, like D3 had. I liked playing essentially the same characters over and over again from level 1, and not having to delete them and make a new one.

CharlesReed,

I miss the rebirth feature as well. I've heard whispers and rumors that the devs may add it in the future since it's requested so much, but that's just hearsay.

Trying The Last of Us on PC. The TAA in this game is atrocious, everything is a smear fest

If you accept modules in Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes as “minigames” then I could name several hundreds that I enjoyed when I was still active in that game. Many of them are “soloable”, meaning, do not require another player with a manual. Several fans of the game, myself included, would sometimes load up a bomb containing only soloable modules and just play on their own.

I think as someone who enjoys being in the zeitgeist of gaming. The switch is still kind of non debatable. It has way too many varied and strong first parties. While Sony doesn’t have as many. Most of their game release within the GotY range currently so also worth it.

If you are a normal gamer. You are correct in some way. Realistically I may recommend Xbox in favour basically only for gamepass. It’s cheaper than a PC post graphics card gouge and is less scary to newcomers. Their gamepass is also slightly better.

Squizzy, do games w Games that force you to make hard choices

I made the choice in GTA that let me continue the free roam unhindered despite it not being what was best in game.

I think if console is your way of gaming then upgrading to a PS4 or XBSX is alright.

Personally I only bought an XSS because it was relatively cheap last year (plus Gamepass with the £1 upgrade offer) but I’m done with future consoles now. PC gaming doesn’t have to expensive so that’s the way forward for myself.

HalJor, do gaming w What difficult games/game challenges did you give up on?
@HalJor@beehaw.org avatar

Diablo IV: Uber Lilith. I did just about everything else, got my character up to Level 100. Then the first season ended (which I didn’t even do) and somehow my character got nerfed – even basic enemies were suddenly much harder for no apparent reason. I was considering changing and upgrading my gear for this final challenge but I couldn’t even fight my way around the map anymore. Screw that.

I haven’t found a compelling reason to not just build a solid gaming pc, then buy a Chromecast and steam link to it.

Latency is quite low on a wired connection, I can stream 4k to my TV, and I can use an Xbox controller. You literally couldn’t tell me the difference most of the time.

I’m rocking an 11th gen Intel i9, 4060 ti, and gigabit network wired between PC <-> chromecast.

Just make sure you get the latest chromecast that can handle 4k streaming though!

Not to wire ethernet into a chromecast, you need a USB c adapter, those dongles that take in USB C power, ethernet, etc. It has a single fully functional USB c port, so you can also connect wired USB and all the jazz to it if needed.

lolcatnip,

If everything is wired, why not just use an HDMI cable?

Because most people don't have their gaming PC in the living room.

I already skipped the ps4 and instead built a PC, as you can see from my avatar Sony doesn’t have anything to offer me anymore since japanese third parties started porting everything to PC and they closed down japan studio.

Also the PC version is often not censored or at least has a patch.
