Old School Runescape i’ve had a decent bit of fun with and i’d recommend it. It takes a lot of reading, but there’s a free option for you to try if you’re unsure and it runs on damn near anything. Granted i’m not the target audience for MMOs. I usually hop in and dick around a little bit then pop out
Sounds help a lot. For most enemies it’s either sound or literal visible movement. The rest is just learning after getting hit i guess. But just these two things will take you far.
Maybe he meant me? (Thank god karma doesn’t exist here)
I just wrote a comment on how it’s interesting from a philosophical angle that we’re willing to petition the preservation of our distractions but not the thing we need ever more distraction from.
Don’t bother with downvoting, your brothers and sisters already nailed me to the cross, covered me in tar and dragged me through 30km of molten lava.
I haven’t changed my mind.
Not a single person I know has significantly changed their behaviour due to the climate emergency. Imagine if we had this kind of rallying support to put an end to fossil fuels tomorrow.
The vast majority of people are not contributing significantly to climate change compared to the big players like the oil and gas industries and the big moving industries.
If you want to make for effective change, stop whining like a street corner crazy picketer and push against those actually doing most of the polluting.
See that sounds like a good counter argument on the surface but it is very flawed.
By just blaming big corporations and pointing the finger, your missing two important factors:
The big corporations do what they do because of consumers like you and me.
by shifting responsibility and effectively saying it’s okay to pass the buck, you’re telling people it’s okay to not have this front and center every day.
As much as I like blaming big corporations, we got here (and every point in human history before us) because of what the masses did or neglected to do.
So as inconvenient as it must be, until we pop out of this us vs them, the corporation expected lifespans can be centuries, human’s are finite, and if you keep that whataboutism alive, will get a lot shorter soon.
So I should save a few watt-hours and then burn a few thousand more for an AI query? I already play on a Steamdeck or read so some wanker can fly a few more centimeters with his private jet.
Tell me you do not understand how the economy works without telling me you do not understand how the economy works…
Personal consumers haven’t driven the oil industry for decades upon decades by now. Please learn how massive corporations function before you continue to embarass yourself.
The big corporations do what they do because of consumers like you and me
Which is why they run a non stop barrage of advertisemenr campaigns to brainwash the consumer into…
Oh. Wait. No.
That would mean the corporations basically tell the consumers what to do, and they basically listen.
Well, dang, thank god it’s not like they bankroll politicians to the point of individual citizen campaign donors being largely of no effectiveness whatsoever in the vast majority of…
It’s interesting, but it’s also completely unrelated aside from a larger discussion about what people can spend their time and energy on? The obvious answer is “people can care about more than one thing” and the secondary response is about how this initiative is easy to participate in compared to limiting climate change. If you could just sign an online petition to limit the effects of climate change I am quite certain it would get just as much or more support… so false equivalency/over exaggeration of what “this kind of rallying support” is. And yeah, limiting climate change directly benefits a lot of people. I would love it if the treasured forests near my home weren’t burning to ash more and more every year, disappearing all the places I loved to go.
It might be 150CC Mirror lol. I knew the game had one extra mode but couldn’t remember which one it was. My first thought was Mirror mode but then i thought of the jump in DK’s Jungle Parkway and went “No way they’d change the map for mirror mode on the N64” and assumed it was 200 CC
ExplanationRiot, the developer of League of Legends, routinely modifies the game to nerf heroes (make unplayable) that break out of their roles. For example if a hero is designed to be a healer, but finds a way to become a damage dealer, that is immediately patched out.
This is most likely about Mario Kart World. The newest feature in the series is the open world with many challenges outside of races and more possibilities to learn the mechanics. Additionally, after you finish a race while playing online, the game gives you 3 options to chose the next track from, which are neighbouring the last track. If you pick them, you drive to this track and only then get to play the race you wanted. This sounds awesome, but only until you realise that this intermission is almost always just a straight line and really, really boring. After release it became the norm to always pick a random track because those don’t have intermissions. Nintendo noticed and patched random to only give you one of the 3 tracks previously suggested, something no other Mario Kart ever did. Now, most players organize their races on Discord. I love Mario Kart, but fuck Nintendo sideways.
Middle evos tend to be…lackluster. The ones that are just upgrades from the basic, a-b-c like Starters and the Generational Bug. Exceptions like Haunter, Dragonair, exist where the middle evolution stands out from the final form. Last major category is have unique in all 3, because an evo was added later, like Golbat to Crobat and Rhydon to Rhyperior.
The oddest one out is ones where people prefer stage OVER the basic, until the evo. These are like Gothorita, Lampent, and Hattrem.
Pikachu exists like Magmar, and I would say is in the same camp as Golbat where a Baby was added later so the pokemons design stands on its own.
Pre-evo baby pokemon generally do not count towards these because half of everyone forgets them (other than pichu) - they tend to just be Dex filler you forget exists in a box in the games. I don’t think they even print baby pokemon in the cards anymore because how non-necessary they are
Happy anniversary, my friend! I think a website wouldn’t be too difficult to spin up, if you really wanted to. The fact that you’re here makes me think you’re capable enough to figure it out on your own with a little google-fu, but if you needed some getting started pointers, don’t hesitate to ask. Good luck on year #2!!
I have a bit of programming experience (and it’s my major too) so I’m confident I can do it! I know though that I can ask the community and they’ll be able to help if I need it too
It’s been fun to follow this past year! You’ve been through some bangers, I have an equal love for the Alan Wake games and the New Vegas DLCs are some of the best in gaming imo.
It’s been a very pleasant and cozy daily routine to read, even though I admit I am more interested whenever you’re playing something new and giving your insights and first impressions.
Regardless though these posts have been a fixture of Lemmy I appreciate, so thank you for your persistence!
It’s been very nice seeing familiar faces like yours through the screenshots!
I’m absolute ass at names, so profile pictures are the only way I can really remember people. So between you, the Monster Hunter Slime Guy, and the guy with the Sonic Pride PFP it’s been very nice having some consistent faces. And I’m sure there’s others too that I just can’t remember the name of since they have generic profile picture. But I’m glad to have them there too. So basically I appreciate you too
