@Whar@beehaw.org avatar

A good option that I think could work could be “fat distribution”, instead of body type.

Selecting chest, abdomen and/or legs would be great for binary and non-binary people depending or their presentation.

HawlSera,

God I’d love to redistribute the fat from my belly to my hips and tits

Whar,
@Whar@beehaw.org avatar

Right? Both traditional genders have a characteristic fat distribution, allowing to customize them independently (sliders!) would be a win-win for binary and non-binary people.

How about a link?

Panda,

Here’s the link to the Steam page. :)

technomad, (edited )

Thanks! Looks like a fun game. Interesting that you don’t really ‘hit’ the notes, moreso just line them up. I feel like it would be the most fun with the actual dj midi controller.

It’s nice to see an evolution/continuation of the genre that so many of us grew up with.

bread,
@bread@feddit.nl avatar

You do hit notes, but not all of them. The “dots” just need to be lined up, whereas “bars” require a button press as well.

technomad,

Oh, awesome! I must have missed that

Panda,

It’s not just spinning and lining up the notes, but it’s pressing (different kinds of) buttons as well. I find it pretty difficult compared to some similar games but that means it’s all the more rewarding to find myself getting better at it. There are a lot of accessibility options as well so you can customise it the way you want.

MurrayL, do games w What category is games like Life is Strange and Until Dawn?

It’s called a branching narrative. Most common related Steam tag for finding similar games would probably be ‘choices matter’.

ashok36, do games w It genuinely upsets me that Valve spent their time and resources on another Dota variation

I’d much rather have a game like deadlock developed out of love and passion than some suits dictating to the devs to make games they don’t want to. That’s how we get Avengers, Redfall, Gotham Knights, etc…

eupraxia,
@eupraxia@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Especially considering a lot of the creative talent behind Valve’s acclaimed single player catalog are no longer at the company. Valve is a different company now and so their games will be different too.

PieMePlenty,

On the flip side, they still have that Valve spice. Alyx was worthy of the Half Life badge, something I was skeptical was still possible after all that time.

Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit (though you need Netflix if you’re playing on your phone which is… Cool). I’ve played this one switch. It’s cute.)

Window Garden: Not caring for pets, but plants.

Bunny Haven (has ads)

Good Pizza, Great Pizza: A pretty cozy looking dinner-dash kind of game.

Neko Atsume: very popular cat collecting game

Kuma Sushi Bar: Cute bear runs a sushi restaurant for other cute critters

I know it’s not exactly what she’s looking for, but I believe they’re all “cozy” and have a “girly/cute” aesthetic.

Any Nintendo DS game on an emulator is an option too!

Ok, I’m a bit out of the loop but is Deadlock actually any good? Like, most of what I’ve heard is that it just isn’t very fun. Even though they kinda fell apart the auto battler and the card game from Valve were generally fairly well received from what I remember. But everything I’ve heard about Deadlock is that it’s not fun, and is bringing the worst elements of DOTA with it.

Maybe since it’s barely even a thing yet, it might wildly change since that’s part of the Valve MO.

LaserTurboShark69,

It’s big and complicated and smooth but ultimately nothing special

VoterFrog,

The thing is I don’t think it has anything to offer to bring in people from outside the genre. Some people really enjoy it but you kinda have to already be into that kind of thing (DOTA).

teh_shame, do games w What are some game series you would like to see revived? And if possible, which entry should the new game follow from?

Chibi Robo!

Even just a remaster would be awesome

beepnoise,

I've heard a fair bit about this game, but never really played it. I may try to get a copy for my Steam Deck. Which one would you recommend for a first timer?

plasticcheese, do gaming w Weekly “What are you playing” Thread || Week of August 25th

Deadlock, and really enjoying it!

KotFlinte,

Man I really want to get into the playtest, but can’t find anybody who can invite me.

I’ve always loved dota but I’m more of an FPS gamer so it might really hit my vibe.

KOTOR

beepnoise,

Nice choice! Would you like them to start afresh or would you like them to continue on from a specific game?

acosmichippo,
@acosmichippo@lemmy.world avatar

I think the Revan storyline is about tapped out, so starting a fresh story is probably the way to go. but I’m open to anything.

gothic_lemons,

I recently started my 1st replay since I was a kid. Loving it on the steam deck, battery lasts forever with the old gem!

UnityDevice,

Have you ever played swtor? It’s a lot like kotor 3 in many respects.

FenrirIII,
@FenrirIII@lemmy.world avatar

But online and grindy

UnityDevice,

You can hide chat and you’ll barely even notice it’s online. And I don’t see how it’s grindy - in fact they made the base game so easy your companion can kill everyone for you.

If you just play the base game content from 2011, it’s 8 completely voice acted stories that are interconnected into one big story. And it’s free.

Riccosuave,
@Riccosuave@lemmy.world avatar

This is my number one pick as well. Just keep it the fuck away from Disney.

simple, do games w What are some game series you would like to see revived? And if possible, which entry should the new game follow from?

Infamous. I don’t know why the series just disappeared after Infamous Second Son, I feel like we could’ve gotten way more in that universe. While they’re at it they should port Infamous 1 & 2 to modern consoles…

beepnoise,

Ah man! What a great choice!

It looks like the studio was behind Ghost of Tsushima, so here's hoping further down the PS5's lifecycle we get a sequel!

Omegamanthethird,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I loved the first 2 games. inFamous 2 is probably a top 5, definitely top 10 game for me. Festival of Blood is one of my favorite DLCs as well.

I didn’t finish Second Son.

Zahille7,

I would love to have them on PC. Honestly why Sony doesn’t port all their old catalog (Sly Cooper, Jak & Daxter etc.) is beyond me. That would get them so much money.

mydoomlessaccount,

Came to say inFamous, but specifically picking up after the evil ending in 2. The way that frames it could allow for character customization, and maybe even getting to choose your powerset.

It could even have multiplayer elements if that’s where they wanted to go with it. Not sure how well PvP would work out, but co-op missions could be fun. But, it could work just fine without any of that

GreyCat,

PvP would probably go poorly, making a single player studio create multiplayer games is bad.
Unless they themselves really want it.

GreyCat,

They are making too much money with ghost of tsushima lol
:(

ampersandrew, do games w What are some game series you would like to see revived? And if possible, which entry should the new game follow from?
@ampersandrew@lemmy.world avatar

As written, this is a tough one to answer. I’m well served in most genres bar a few, and I probably wouldn’t want to see new entries from the people who made the old ones. For instance, I miss stealth games and Splinter Cell, but I wouldn’t want Ubisoft to make it. I would love to see a new Metal Arms, but Blizzard (and now also Microsoft) owns that one. I miss racing games like Burnout and F-Zero, but I wouldn’t trust EA or Nintendo to make a successor that makes me happy. So really, I think I want new stuff that’s more of a spiritual successor type of deal.

Coelacanth,
@Coelacanth@feddit.nu avatar

I’ve been wanting a new, proper Splinter Cell for years. Michael Ironside is cancer free now and still alive for a couple more years (hopefully). I dream of Sam Fischer getting a final send-off with the correct voice actor. “One final job” with him old and grey. But yeah, Ubisoft wouldn’t make it right, sadly.

Banichan, do games w What are some game series you would like to see revived? And if possible, which entry should the new game follow from?

None. We need less rehashes and more fresh IPs.

Post like this slow progress by letting devs think we want the same shit over and over.

I want to see an adaptation of Naked Lunch as a video game that starts out as a hard-boiled neo-noir detective game, becoming a surreal waking nightmare much like the book, and ending with becoming an endless randomly-generated flight from the cops as you evade pursuit for accidentally killing your wife during a game of William Tell.

I’ve got probably 9,000 hours on different variants of the Civ franchise over my lifetime, assuming I played Civ V and VI the same amount as the other four. I’ve got 1,600 hours in Factorio and probably the same amount in KSP.

My point being that some of us kinda do want the same shit over and over.

Banichan,
@Banichan@dormi.zone avatar

And people like you are slowing the progress of gaming.

If you want to play a game you used to like, just play it.

TachyonTele,

Semi_Hemi_Demigod,
