Vermintide 2 (modified L4D2 in Warhammer: Fantasy), since one kind soul on Lemmy said it now works on Linux too. I’ve missed a lot of new content and I don’t even know where to go most of the times like I just started it. I became kinda rusty since I switched systems, but playing on lower difficulties feels fun too. An hour of runs per evening is where I am at. As I don’t have anything tp grind there anymore as I did it all before, I’ve learnt to smile while loosing in some hilarious ways, and some of these failures make me cackling for a long while.

Just got back on PlanetCrafter with my mate.

We are having a blast on the Moons update !

I actually went back to give star citizen a shot since they added these “flight school” type missions that actually pay pretty well. It’s a chill experience to just pop on after work and do like 6-8 of them since they only take a few minutes each and then log off.

Other than that I found this game hard time 3 that is absolutely unhinged madness. It’s a janky messy game, but it’s fun chaos to mess with for a bit. It’s free on mobile, but I bought it on steam. It already has a horrendous camera and dealing with that on mobile is just asking for an aneurysm.

banditbananas, do games w Had a take about Supergiant Games that recieved a lot of pushback fromy teo longest eunning best friends.

I think I’m just getting sick of rogue likes. It seems there is another one being pushed every time I open steam. I find them all way too similar and frankly the loop of roguelikes is annoying to me. So, I would like to see them develop something else, I don’t see it happening.

Hades was good. Rogue legacy was good. Dead cells was good. Brotato was good. Vampire survivors was good. Wizard of legend was good. Star of Providence was good. After those, though, I hit a wall. So, overall I agree. I wish the industry would move away from the genre, but it’s not happening anytime soon.

ouRKaoS,

I play a lot of roguelikes because I rarely have the time for a multiple hour gaming session anymore, and I can get a complete start to finish game in with a roguelike in 30-60 minutes. I think that may be part of the popularity.

I’ve played all the ones you mentioned, my recent vices are Magicraft & Star Vader’s, both on steam. Slay the Spire & The Binding of Isaac are two I always come back to during my “what should I play?” moments.

banditbananas,

Yeah. The shorter game sessions are what drew me in initially. Tie that with handheld gaming and it’s just a perfect combo of quick play convenience. I’m probably just hitting burn out and need a break.

Slay the spire is another good one I forgot about. I played it heavy on the switch back when it was released.

tomi000,

Have you played Binding of Isaac though? The king of roguelikes

banditbananas,

I did. I wasn’t a fan. I played it when it first released, and it was my first rogue-like but I didn’t really like the games presentation. It’s pretty gross. Plus, I was pretty bad at it since I only played fps and rpg games at the time, so that didn’t help. I’m sure people won’t like that answer.

Risk of Rain is what dipped my toes more in the genre, and I only played it since my friends wouldn’t stop talking about it. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have given the genre another chance.

Space Engineers. I set up a server for me and my friends with a few mods.

So far, we have an undefended asteroid with a ton of resources and production capabilities. It was attacked recently by a small pirate ship but I fought it off.

I’m in the process of making a large nomad ship - a mobile base.

Core Keeper with my gf and Children of Morta/PUBG casuals with a friend. A bit of PAYDAY 3 with a group.

I’ve also been playing Nightreign and having an absolute blast. I did manage to beat Gladius with a couple of randos early on, but nothing since then. I’ve been trying to help my friend clear that first hurdle, but no luck so far.

Finally started playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 1. A lot of the design decisions in the game are antithetic to my idea of fun. But there’s a healthy mod community and a handfull of QOL mods later I’m having an absolute blast

I’ve played a bunch of Monster Train 2 which is great. A really novel interpretation of the Slay the Spire format. It also has some great qol and mechanical improvements over the first. Highly recommend if you’re into that sort of thing.

Medieval Dynasty: New Settlement in VR. It’s quite good, though a bit glitchy here and there. Finished the main quest line and am now running my tavern whilst waiting for my baby to be born.

Remnant 2. I have no idea what’s going on, but I’m having a good time. The systems are pretty complex and unexplained so I just equip things that seem cool. So far so good! Thanks to other players joining my game I’ve been able to solve the puzzles, which honestly I would have had to lookup solutions for if I were only playing solo.

I’ve primarily been playing Celeste and been enjoying it. I made it to the summit and now I’m going back through and trying to find all the strawberries, cassettes, and crystals without a guide and beat the B-Side levels. It’s kind of a slog though, so I’ll probably resort to using a guide eventually. Other than that I’ve been dabbling a bit with Elden Ring and GTA V and playing stuff like Pizza Possum and Plate Up with my fiancé.

I’ve been playing this ‘medieval’ mod(s) for RimWorld which basically limits you to medieval tech and has a lot more crafting spaces to make materials for things, like a loom to make cloth or drying racks to make straw or dried meat. Its neat but a little quirky and doesn’t seem well tuned in parts.

I’ve also been convincing people to try out PULSAR: The Lost Colony, which is like a first person Star Trek adventure co-op game. The game gets pretty close to doing cool stuff, and has great moments, but doesn’t quite nail it overall. That’s almost more frustrating to be honest.

Krudler, do games w Epic Games Unreal Fest News

The last feature Epic added that was meaningful was the ability to look at my own game library.

They still have a storefront without reviews… They have ratings “captured from the ecosystem”.

They remain a joke.
