download some unknown exe or sideload some dll with admin rights sound like good idea.

NaoPb, do gaming w Running With Scissors Studios gives permission to pirate games

They have a nice discount on their games on their own webpage. Too bad it requires a credit card or paysafecard.

I’ll probably be pirating for now.

potterman28wxcv, do gaming w Just completed Undertale for the first time, this truly is something special.

I loved every second of playing Undertale. I got genuinely happy for the characters and I even cried a little. Definitely a masterpiece!

Woah this looks amazing. Now I have a new project to add to the list! Got any videos of it in use? How does it feel? Did you document the build process?

Damn you for opening up these possibilities!

MilliaStrange,

I don’t have videos yet, but I’ll post something soon!

It feels awesome. The action buttons have a great feel that’s between clicky and mushy and they don’t make a ton of noise when I mash them.

This was my first experience with a Korean lever. The stick actuator pushes on a silicone grommet which pushes the four directional switches. The result is it feels like the gate is a big circle while I still hear a click confirming when I press or release a direction. I find this makes special move inputs easier. The caveats are you need an adapter for the cables to work with a Japanese style stick, (which I bought with my joystick for an extra buck) and you need a 35mm hole for the “collar” and horizontal holes drilled in the mounting plate to accomodate. Fortunately Eternal Rival took care of all of that when I put my order for the kit together.

Here’s the build manual from Eternal Rival which should explain how it all goes together

NateSwift, do gaming w I built a fightstick!

This has been a project I’ve always wanted to do! Yours looks great!

MilliaStrange,

Thank you ☺️

nieceandtows, do gaming w A little doodle, cus I am hopelessly hooked on Pikmin 4

Very well done

TheOtherJake, do gaming w It’s time to update

Unconsensual updates are digital rape

Domiku,

This isn’t a good take, IMO

Lionir,

Please don’t compare relatively mundane things to rape.

Preordering is dumb, preordering in 2023 when it’s 50/50 whether any given PC port is going to be a total mess is dumb

shapesandstuff, do gaming w Starfield's already the top seller

Stop. Preordering.

ghostalmedia,
@ghostalmedia@beehaw.org avatar

The people that preorder clearly aren’t listening

SenorBolsa,

Like at least find out if the planets are any good first and not just 2000 procedurally generated flavors of bear asses to collect.

Hopefully there’s a whole RPG game in there and those are just side stuff to muck around and get some loot.

Why are people advising against pre-ordering? Is Bethesda known for not meeting expected release dates?

Basically, preordering incentivizes companies to release games that are not finished. In general, companies will always maximize revenues while minimizing costs. If they can release a game that didn’t cost them as much to produce (getting massive preorders through good marketing but pinching development and quality) then they absolutely will. look at any AAA released this year

Forkk,

Why are people buying products that they can’t even have until release day?

People will never learn to not preorder games. I have no hope for humanity at this point.

mustyOrange,

Queue the “internet people are a vocal minority” saying. Unfortunately, it really is true. How anyone can pre-order after fo76 is absolutely bonkers to me

stardust, do gaming w Let's discuss: Visual Novels

I’ve played the Steins;Gate ones and DDLC. I like that it’s relaxing when I don’t feel like doing something super interactive and the branching paths when it comes to story is cool. I picked up Chaos;Head Noah which I haven’t started yet but look forward to getting into the other visual novels in to SciADV series.

Steam Deck has been how I’ve read them, and it’s been great with the suspend feature making it book like in getting into it and out of it convenient.

JakenVeina, do gaming w Let's discuss: Hollow Knight

First game I ever played where I was like “yo, I actively WANT to do the speedrun achievement, and the deathless achievement.” So, first game where I ever did those things. Maybe I’m just crazy, but I found them way easier than I expected.

Also, a prime example of storytelling through music.

NoneOfUrBusiness, do gaming w Let's discuss: Hollow Knight

Other commenters have explained why it's good better than I can, so I'll just say: It's good enough that my biggest dissatisfaction is that my preferred playatyle (JUSTICE FOR NAIL ARTS!!!!) is unpopular.

marcoedelman, do gaming w is this true?

Mii in the streets, Captain Falcon in the sheets? The first one sure, but I have yet to Falcon Punch a pussy and am also not into degradation.
