ErsatzCoalButter, do gaming w Extreme Boss Killer Belt: Public Notice of Challenge

I accept the challenge. I’m taking you down.

Also, I call out @knokelmaat as promised, if you yet live for the game.

macwood, do gaming w Wheel! Wheel! Wheel!

Nope!

theangriestbird,

it’s a crime that this isn’t the top comment

MudMan, do gaming w yeah, I game on APUs

We really don't talk enough about how the worst rated game of the Tomb Raider reboot from the B studio for the series ended up being the default benchmark for gaming for the better part of a decade.

Good for Eidos Monteal. Guardians of the Galaxy deserved better, too.

thief_of_names, do gaming w Let's discuss: UFO 50

Absolutely the game(s) of the year for me. Some games are surprisingly long with hours of gameplay, but most are short, and with the ability to jump in and out of games at will my ADHD brain is very happy. Some games I would never have bought on their own, and them being in this little bundle means it’s easy for me to give them a chance.

I really do recommend ufo 50 to anyone who likes retro games. It’s like having a nes emulator with all the games, but with the added benefit of modern game design and a minimum standard of goodness.

Also, playing the bundle at the same time as a friend is a nice experience! You start talking about what games you’ve tried and give each other hints and stuff.

Fav games: Porgy, Avianos, Rock On! Island, Pilot Quest (time in this game passes when you play other games btw!), Grimstone (get a bank account if you get stuck), Mini & Max

This is an experience I wish I can have. I feel like a middle schooler again as I play each game, wanting to go to my pals and go nonstop about what I found.

This is the only game that stood out to me in this sale, sounds like i should get it.

chloyster, do gaming w Let's discuss: UFO 50

My goty and one of my new all time favorites. It’s the best bundle since the orange box. Every game is unique and awesome and very well thought out. These are not mini games, they are well well thought out, clever, and fun games.

Not all are for me, but I’ve had fun stumbling around each game and figuring them out. Favorites include:

  • Mini and Max
  • Party house
  • Rail heist
  • Night manor
  • Overbold
  • Warp tank
  • Mortol
myfavouritename,

Mini and Max is so strangely awesome! It didn’t have to have nearly as much content as it does. It’s huge!

odium, do gaming w Let's discuss: Platformers

My favorite platformer is hollow Knight (if that counts), and Celeste is my second favorite. I like my platformers to be challenging.

I’m gonna go with Forza (Assetto Corsa also works to a lesser extent). Sure the focus of the game is on racing, but it can be extremely relaxing to hop into any car you want from any era and just take a cruise and look at the scenery

Sometimes I chill after work by driving around the Nurburgring in a touring car in Automobilista 2.

Alternately, for more driving games:

  1. Art of Rally has a free roam mode, which is pretty chill.
  2. I’ve been playing Sledders, a snowmobile game. It is super early in early access, but it can be fun to just roam around (and learn how to drive a snowmobile).
N00b22,

I like Forza, but have caution with the online players. Most of them love ramming people

DesolateMood,

I’m well aware. I enjoy the game all the same. Besides, I think people overstate how bad rammers are. Yeah it happens sometimes, but most people want the same thing you do: a clean race

I’m playing factorio with my friends two days straight and we plan to keep playing, it was years since I could play for so long with them, normally I start to fell bored and hang up, but i’m 14 hours in and stil want to play more!

Factorio is great. I don’t think Theres another game that sucked up so many hours so quick. I absolutely love it. It takes a shit load of time(my first world took 40 hours and didnt complete the game). I’m now starting a new world because of space age, and already have a lot of plans on how to improve my world to male it better(starting with currently building a blueprint for a mall and rushing to robots in order to not being forced to build everything by hand). Also, disabling biters is a very good thing to do. I don’t want to focus on fighting biters. I just want to see the factory grow.

knokelmaat, do gaming w Let's discuss: Final Fantasy

I am probably in an extreme minority here, but my favorite final fantasy game is… XIII. I remember being so hyped when it came out, the graphics on my PS3 were unreal. This was at a time in my life where I was unable to finish any big game due to limited attention span, but I played the first hours of that game a lot and really enjoyed it. Since then I’ve tried getting into VII, IX, XII and XIV, and all of them I bounced off of. However, trying XIII again years later on PC, it just feels so comfy. I don’t need to think too hard were to go or what to do, just let the game guide me and enjoy the music and spectacle.

I’ve noticed lately that I absolutely love linear games: half-life, portal, uncharted… are all experiences I adored because of their simplicity. Just move forward! I feel that a lot of mainstream gaming has become about side objectives, open worlds and collecting 100% of collectibles, and it is honestly exhausting. If you have any linear game recommendations, please chime in :)!

I always wanted to play the one I saw my friend’s older sister playing on her Xbox 360 when I was younger. The main character had pink hair and it looked really good for the generation of consoles. Not sure which one it was though

petrol_sniff_king,

That would be 13. :p

secret300,

Aaaa thank you! I’m going to game exchange and seeing if they have it now hahaha

Some how the game doesn’t exist on Google…

petrol_sniff_king,

No problem! There is about 40 hours of walking down a single path, but I actually like 13 a lot.

I’ve never seen google do that, by the way. That’s crazy.

secret300,

Haha I know right. I thought it was a funny bug.

I did go to game exchange and completely forgot… But I got Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch

Ace Attorney is a classic that has been remastered all the way up to PCs, would reccomend it.

I’d seen stuff about this game for years before finally deciding to play it and boy was I not disappointed. The art for each area is gorgeous, and the character design for ghost and hornet is right up my alley; I adore capes/ponchos and little spooky things that deal massive damage to enemies.

I die often, and probably won’t go for a steel soul run for my own health and sanity though I can see the appeal. The boss fights are unique and interesting, and my only gripe is when they’re too far from a bench. The treck through the soul sanctum was frustrating, and I was seething every time I had to fight my way back to the hive knight. There is a certain euphoria that comes with finally beating them though.

The weaversong/grubsong charm combo has been invaluable for the colosseum. Not every charm seems worth their notch cost, so there are some (quick/deep focus and fury of the fallen) that I hardly ever use. But finding the right combo for my play style and whichever boss I’m facing is fun.

Haven’t finished my first run yet, but am looking forward to what the white palace holds (aside from the freaking saws).
