Has there been a change in sourcing new magazines? Last time I tried it I couldn't get anything to matriculate, at least not kbin style with searching etc. Big turn off for me but otherwise mbin seems like the best fit.

Maybe I should reach out to the person who runs the mbin instance I am on. They were a kbin person before and may have some insight. An mbin version of this meta would be helpful, as mentioned!

This is a good discussion here. I'm sure I am not the only person to have other accounts (an mbin and a lemmy) but I am pretty invested here. But your #1 option has some relavent points.

Edit to add I have been digging the microblogs and miss that from what I can see on mbin. Maybe my error. I can't even find them.

Same also. It made the PWA broken when I tried using it earlier. Maybe change my default view on the browser now. No other problems!

I am definitely not qualified for instance level moderation, but may be for a magazine. Is that part of what you are looking for? I did put a request in for one a ways back, but perhaps am not qualified for that, either. It would be a good step i think. But I don't know. I can go thru the abandoned list again.

I agree that it would probably be helpful to have more than one person running the program, but I also understand it can be hard to let a project go. I really like kbin, but will admit I set up another account elsewhere. It isn't as nice as kbin. I don't know rust but will definitely step up to moderate! Learning new things is good. I'll do it. Happily 🙂

I don't have anything to add but appreciate you beginning the discussion. It seems that all instances will periodically face this issue; perhaps it would be good to have a proactive plan on place for when it becomes relentless.

What all is involved on moderating? I haven't gotten involved in any of that, I come from a bulletin board back ground, not reddit, but I am sure I am not the only person without a relevant background who is willing to be helpful in some capacity. It will just all be new. But it seems like having a warm body to delete posts could help a lot!

You can report a post. It will even tell you if it has already been reported. I do not know who receives this report. I report and then block this type of thing.

I'm not sure what KES is but if I just scroll a bit then what u want to read or what I am writing is clear of the arrow. I don't use the arrow and am indifferent to it but I imagine others may like it. I use the PWA.

Progressive web app. You install it from your browser, and it runs from your browser, but you get a special icon to launch it. Probably more To it than that, but that's the most I think I know enough to say haha!

I don't remember the price, and Mom almost certainly paid for it, but Faxanadu. First game I ever beat, got an emulator and sought it out on a rom when those came out, and most recently played it at an arcade that had a bunch of older games loaded onto a "TV" with real controllers. Hadn't used that kind of controller for a long time.
