jjjalljs, w Baldur's Gate 3 - Patch #2 Now Live! - Steam News

Can’t redo your appearance yet? Hm.

Also hoping they’ll do something so enemies handle stealth better. It’s very silly when they give up the search after like two rounds, even when there’s a dead body right there. Sometimes they freak out and run around, but a lot of the time they just go back to normal.

It would end up being another open world full of meaningless busy work objectives. Far Cry with talking animals and you play as a woman this time.

Blamemeta, w Cyberpunk 2077 Only Getting One Expansion Was a 'Technological Decision', CD Projekt Red Says

The game can only support one expansion? Wtf?

tiwenty,

You should have read the few lines of the article: it’s not a technological limit, they didn’t want to continue working on RED engine projects when they are shifting to Unreal.

DLSantini, w Baldur's Gate 3 "feels so alive" because it used mo-cap and 248 actors to bring its characters to life

I’m 20 hours in, and all I see is a massively buggy, broken shit-show. Vanishing npcs while talking, vanishing items, menus that stop coming up, interactions that stop functioning, npcs that go hostile for no reason and can’t be fixed with a reload, characters/quests that permanently break for no reason, team mates that drop-off the map or into the scenery at the start of battle and they can’t get out or get healed when something downs them. And so, so, so much more.

I really, really want to love this game. But I do not, and I regret wasting the $60, as well as my incredibly limited free time.

blackbirdbiryani,

Yea, maybe you’re just unlucky but I’ve been running it on my ancient mid-tier 2017 pc and it runs amazingly on high. No major bugs except with throwing weapons.

doctorzeromd,

Weird, you’re in the VAST minority it seems. I am ~60 hours in and have only seen one bug while playing online on someone else’s game.

You should contact Larian support, it sounds like a problem unique to you.

mothersprotege,

I’m sorry that you’ve had this experience. I’ve been playing since the start of early access on a low-end PC, and never had any of those issues.

sugar_in_your_tea, w Weaker subscription deals have hit indie publishers, says analyst

Ok, so make good games and sell them for what they’re worth. I don’t see why they need subscriptions to stay in business.

memerifficguitarguy, w Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon debuts at No.1 | UK Boxed Charts

I have never played an AC game before, is it fun combat mechanics?

Gullible,

Story’s fantastic, game mechanics are great, movement feels nice. Avoid if you get motion sickness.

memerifficguitarguy,

Thank you!

platypode,
@platypode@sh.itjust.works avatar

Hell yeah. Never played AC before as well–picked this one up on launch day and have been having an absolute blast. It’s FromSoft, so it kicks your teeth in a little bit, but once you get the hang of the combat system and make sense of the info on your screen it’s a ton of fun. If you like the dark souls style of combat (heavy emphasis on dodge-and-punish, demands near-perfect execution), you’ll like AC.

prole,

It’s fucking fantastic. The movement feels great, and combat makes you feel like a god sometimes with the shit you pull off. The game is a ton of fun.

Pxtl,
@Pxtl@lemmy.ca avatar

It’s a compromise between the classic AC games that were a bit more mech-y and a Soulslike (note that even the classic games were very fast-paced, we’re not talking about Mechwarrior here). Some people call it “Sekirobot” because it’s moved away from a few of the mech-y aspects and is more about high-speed soulslike combat but with a rocket-pack, guns, and homing-missiles.

Personally I’m enjoying the hell out of it.

Another reason why anything subscription based is bad

    Well… Yeah. Wouldn’t you rather not pay for things? /s

    Dindonmasker,
    @Dindonmasker@sh.itjust.works avatar

    I would say subscriptions are bad because they are proven to make people spend more money then they would have normally. That’s why most big companies do it now. Someone buying a game for 30$ and playing it for 1000 hours over a couple years isn’t very interesting for the big guys.

    Kolanaki,
    !deleted6508 avatar

    But then how would you apply that logic to things like GamePass, where you will end up spending way less if you are a prolific gamer? I spent $120 for a year of PS+ Premium and it paid for itself in 2 weeks with the cost of buying the individual games vs just having access to the catalogue. And not just things I downloaded, played for 10 minutes and removed. There was plenty of things I would have out right paid $40-70 for and have put 40-100 hours in that I didn’t have to buy because they were on the subscription service. It would have cost almost a $1000 for the value of time spent playing games I got access to for only $120.

    crystal,

    For something like a gamepass it’s debatable.

    You probably pay more if using a gamepass, but you also try a lot more games.

    If you played as many games without a gamepass as with one, you’d pay a lot more.

    But without a gamepass, you usually restrict yourself to fewer games.

    Whether removing such restriction is worth the (not as significant) additional cost is subjective.

    So there’s an actual case for subscription in cases like this.

    (The reason subscriptions make some sense here is because digital items are artificially limited. With physical items or services subscriptions are almost always a money grab. But with artificially limited things, such as digital items, subscriptions can definitely be reasonable.)

    halcyoncmdr,
    @halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world avatar

    The subscription service is bad because a trial period that has no bearing on subscribers is changing? Okay.

    Fiivemacs,

    Found another subscriber that shells out money monthly for items they will never own then complains they can’t afford housing/food.

    Subscriptions help no one but companies profits.

    sugar_in_your_tea,

    If you only ever play games or watch movies/shows once regardless, it’s just a cheaper way to get content. The only reason I don’t use Gamepass is because it doesn’t work on Linux. That’s it.

    I have Netflix and Disney+ because it’s way cheaper than buying the movies and shows I watch on it, movies and shows that I’ll only ever watch once.

    big_slap,

    complaining about housing and food? are we reading the same comment or is lemmy broken again lol

    RizzRustbolt, w Starfield is Bethesda's Least Buggiest Game to Date, Say Sources

    I feel bad for the teams that had to go into “double crunch” mode after BG3 came out. Just so they can get the game into not embarrassing shape for launch.

    sugar_in_your_tea,

    Or they could, you know, wait for it to be ready to release. How about they wait to announce it until the game is done, and then spend the last few months polishing it?

    TurnItOff_OnAgain, w In its first week, Immortals of Aveum had a peak count of just 751 players on Steam.

    I forgot about this game. It looked interesting. I’ll wait for it to come to gamepass or be on sale.

    sugar_in_your_tea,

    IDK, Denuvo + EA account makes this a hard sell for me. If those are removed, I may consider it at $20, but definitely not $60.

    TurnItOff_OnAgain,

    I’ll be playing on Xbox, so that doesn’t ant matter to me.
