weirdo_from_space,

For future projects you may want to consider Godot or Stride. Free and Open Source.

weirdo_from_space,

My hope would be that this encourages open source engine usage but it’ll probably simply make Unreal Engine more popular instead.

weirdo_from_space,

Is that really the only important aspect? That it has the NBA or Madden or FIFA brand? Does the actual game not matter at all? Because if so, I think sports gamers made their decision and have no right to complain about it’s results.

weirdo_from_space,

Blitz the League came out at a different time, Madden was still a beloved series by this point. You have two sports games, both are good, but one of them has the NFL license and the other doesn’t. I wouldn’t fault anyone for looking at Madden as a no brainer in such a situation.

Times have clearly changed, how many times did Angry Joe made videos ripping the Madden of the year into pieces? If the game is really that bad, giving up on the roster seems like a good compromise if it means a good game. But according to Madden players roster comes first, so I don’t know what they are complaining about.

I get that a good sports game that has the players you know and support isn’t much to ask but it’s what it is.

weirdo_from_space,

Wasn’t NBA 2K20’s trailer disliked to hell because it dedicated more time to show off the roulette wheel, pachinko and slots than basketball? That really doesn’t look like the definitive basketball game, dude. Multiplayer seems to work well enough but most of the complaints are over single player features, at least you can play a different game for that aspect.

weirdo_from_space,

Good sports games are still made, they just don’t have the offical roster… out of the box.

weirdo_from_space,

Same happened with Doom Eternal. The graphics were a show stopper when the game came out and the game didn’t even stutter. It’s so well optimized that I’m told you can even play it with integrated graphics.

weirdo_from_space,

Frankly, open world sucks. I’ve played Far Cry 2 sometime last year because one of my friends spoke so highly of it and I’ve spent more time driving around than actually shooting anything. It served no purpose other than wasting player’s time. Missions were rather basic too. And nothing in the reviews of more modern examples showcase that anything has changed.

weirdo_from_space,

Crash remake sold great too, but not the Crash 4. It feels like people ony really wanted to briefly relive the “good old days” and checked out after playing some of the N. Sane trilogy.

weirdo_from_space,

A good version of original Red Faction would be great.

weirdo_from_space,

I mean the original Red Faction isn’t very good. I’d like to see a proper version of that game. A new entry that takes all the good ideas of the original and properly executes them.

What Is Warfork and Its Dash Mechanic? (www.youtube.com) angielski

I’m not the creator of this video, but I wanted to share it because Warfork is an incredibly fun game and more people should be playing it. It’s not super populated, but you can usually find a good match. Highly recommend trying it if you enjoy (or want to try) arena shooters!

weirdo_from_space,

I played some of the original Warsaw, it was pretty fun. I’ll give this a go tommorow.

weirdo_from_space,

I didn’t know Devolver Digital and Team17 were public, that probably isn’t good.

weirdo_from_space,

I personally haven’t played Horizon myself; but from what I saw if it, it doesn’t look poorly made; it just looks by the numbers. Over the shoulder “cinematic” open world game with that Sony trope of the protagonist telling you the solution to a puzzle upon seeing it.

If my impression is accurate I would compare it to Quake II or Blue Beetle, if you are already a fan of Sony’s style of games you’ll most likely love Horizon, if you don’t like that kind of game then there isn’t much Horizon can offer you.

weirdo_from_space,

You mean Horizon?

weirdo_from_space,

For real, their Quake II and ROTT remasters are top tier.

weirdo_from_space,

Why’s demand for E3 is so low comparatively? What’s different with gamescom? I know gamescom used to be the gamer focused convention when E3 was still focused on business side but what’s different about it today?

weirdo_from_space,

Because times are changing, E3 no longer has the prestige it once held. Presenting your game in E3 costs an arm and a leg and isn’t any more effective than making a Direct presentation video. Because of that companies are moving into online showcases. I wonder how Gamescom and Summer Games Fest maintained relevancy while E3 turned into a nostalgic memory.

weirdo_from_space,

E3 is failing because companies can just upload their showcases to YouTube now. Modern day E3 is a consumer event anyway, why not deliver the announcements they are looking for in a manner that’s cheaper and more convenient for everyone?

It seems like gamescom is more of a festival where announcements are a bit of a bonus. Gamescom’s better public relations most likely help too.

weirdo_from_space,

You can’t fault his logic. /s

weirdo_from_space,

Today I’ve been playing My Friend Pedro and man it’s been incredible.

weirdo_from_space,

“Redfall is looking awesome, it has Arkane’s best gunplay yet.”

weirdo_from_space,

You’re welcome and have fun 🍻

weirdo_from_space,

Why. I mean it could’ve been worth something if Sonic remasters were still stuck on the phone but those times have passed.

weirdo_from_space,

Fuck yeah, Killer Bean is back let’s go!

I wonder how the story will shape up because the first sequel series we’ve got was trash.

weirdo_from_space,

Because it’s the Killer Bean! Watch the movie here.

weirdo_from_space,

The game is not dead, it’s undead, wavering towards the finish line so it could be put out of it’s misery.

weirdo_from_space,

It’s two years late. Nobody will touch it at this point.

weirdo_from_space,

Almost every AAA release these days seems to earn that title.

weirdo_from_space,

Every week some other game seems to claim that title.

weirdo_from_space,

Spending too much time with games or internet either implies serious problems the person is trying to escape from, or a lack of alternative activities. Trying to force the people to stop won’t do anything, the goal should be to make it so people don’t feel the need to rely on these two as much.

Sega has a collection of 55 Sega Genesis ROMs for sale on Steam (sh.itjust.works) angielski

LinkThis has been out for a while, but I really like this bundle of games. Very fun to play on a Raspberry Pi, since they have a folder in the game’s files with the raw ROMs of the games included. Also comes with a built-in emulator and manuals of the games. Pretty good amount of content for 17 USD. It is currently in the...

weirdo_from_space,

I didn’t know Sega did that, pretty neat.

weirdo_from_space,

This looks really cool game, I confused it with Gloomwood for a second lol

weirdo_from_space,

I don’t like Embraced Group. They give monopolistic vibes.

weirdo_from_space,

If youcre building for gaming, personally I’d advise aganist building a high end PC however.

Most AAA releases suck. Buggy, broken, soulless, rushed. There is no point in chasing high end hardware that can run them.

The pre-built I’ve ordered will come with an AMD 5600G APU, sufficent for most if not all indie releases.

weirdo_from_space,

I’ve got mine through an online wizard of sorts, so I have picked almost all of the parts. And I understand your point of view but this is all I can afford at the moment, I didn’t want to try to build my own PC for the first time and somehow screw it up.

weirdo_from_space,

Fair enough, but not all of those games’ problems are technical. A lot of them just either fundamentally suck, or are technically well built but don’t offer anything truly interesting.

I understand this is subjective; but why would I want to play Ghost of Tsushima when I could be playing Hades, Hotline Miami or Undertale?

weirdo_from_space,

I am actually suprised by this considering the absurd monetization of Diablo Immortal. Last time they reported on it it was making five million a day if I remember it correctly, damn.
