One day I need to get around to trying Banjo Tooie. I’ve always wanted to at least give it a shot. I finished Yooka Layler, so surely it can’t be that bad.
Play different games. Walkabout golf is a fantastic multiplayer game. I consider it the killer app. My family plays it regularly.
I wish they’d focus more on releasing VR board games. My family and friends are scattered around the world and VR is fantastic for playing board games with them if only they’d release them.
If the only thing you like playing is FPS games then I guess VR isn’t for you though.
This is the answer IMO. I suffer from terrible motion sickness from all of the normal stuff like riding in the back of a car and when I go out fishing on the ocean, like very quickly and very intense, but I have zero issues playing hours of VR elite dangerous…thank god
The series died with Desmond. They were building up to something in the present day and then just fucked it all off with no payoff. And then proceeded to not replace it with anything. Where’s the ongoing storyline to hook me in to continue playing? 4’s playtester double agent was cool for a little bit but not enough to keep me interested and they never got it to a point where I wanted to know more after the credits rolled. The series ended for me there, when they confirmed Desmond was just a brain in a jar now, fuelling abstergo’s games.
On another note this will make for an easy comparison of Denuvo ridden game vs Denuvo removed. The Day 1 Patch bringing some Fixes and Performance gains would muddy the results a bit but I think it’s still a good idea to have a test like that. If the rumors/speculation about Denuvos performance impact are true I doubt even a Day 1 Patch would manage to balance out the performance difference.
This information now makes me wanna buy that game. Like so many, I don’t mind paying for entertainment, I just don’t want to be suddenly without access to the game. Activision is so stupid.
Yeah, if I get it, I’ll probably buy a license and then play the cracked version. However, I’m not likely to go through the effort, so I guess we’ll see.
Jitter when the camera slides left and right means he should keep it in one spot and offset the screen. I.e., don’t move the camera - move the graphics. Have some X/Y value that gets added to all block positions, that frame. Then any visible gaps between tiles would at least stay put.
The artistic solution to those gaps is to make hidden faces the same color as the top face. Anywhere a cube touches a cube, the sides that meet should not be shaded.
The artistic non-solution is to give each top face an outline so that all looks like a deliberate grid. Like the surface is tiled the way a kitchen is tiled.
An artistic abuse is that blocks could be oriented freely. Any 1x1 pillar of cubes can be stacked funny. Especially if the engine makes non-grid-aligned tiles cheap. Then you could do a ziggurat where every level spirals upward. Admittedly, that would make collision a pain. Even player movement seems to be gridded.
Urban Dead was fun back when I played it. Used to be on the forums a lot and organize curing centres or safe zones.
Dominate Game. Great online risk game with elo system. You could play the default maps in the browser but thier client let you play tons of customer player made maps. Sadly this one got taken down a long time ago, is has a spiritual successor as Dominate 12.
Supremacy 1914. Only played 2 matches of this game, but do to its nature it was over the course of 6 months or so. I believe they have a download client now and the game is also on Steam now.
They don't want to dig into the spaghetti code to make it work.
And considering the lukewarm response to the shitty San Andreas port, they probably don't want to risk more bad publicity by farming it out to the lowest bidder... again.
They have consistently done the second, which makes absolutely no sense to me since doing it right would mean they could bring great old games to a new audience. All they need to do is increase framerate caps (and fix bugs caused by that), increase render resolution, and improve texture quality. They should have all of the original files, so this shouldn’t require a ton of effort, even if the code is a mess.
GTA SA and friends was terrible because it didn’t look anything like the originals since it was a mobile port. Nobody asked for big changes, just a few QOO updates. The same is true for RDR, we just want to play it on PC with higher FPS and whatnot, we don’t expect anything groundbreaking. If it’s easier, they could port the campaign to RDR2 (they already have a lot of the models) and then not have to maintain the older codebase. Surely that’s an option too.
Yeah, have no clue why people don't think they are just doing this. They literally did this with RDR 2. Like we aren't in the days of the 360 and PS3 where consoles were very weird architecturally. Things have been mostly smoothed out and porting while can be quite a task especially if you want to do it right (however Rockstar hasn't done great with doing it right) but its far more trivial compared to the past.
