You can’t transfer it entirely, could even crash your game from my friend’s experience. Best pick out your most important commands, put them in an autoexec.cfg for CS2, and see what works and which commands have become invalid.
Some of these commands it says cs2 doesn’t even exist anymore. I wonder if that will be a problem in the future or if it’s just: “too bad, get used to it” mentality
Oh, I’m looking forward to finally getting to play the DLC! I have the game on PS4, not never bothered to get a 5 because I switched to PC gaming before they were easily available where I live, and now I don’t want one any more.
I’ll wait until it goes on sale, though, since I already paid full price once.
I still want to look into some reviews, but I’ll probably end up buying Phantom Liberty. The 2.0 update has been a lot of fun for me. The rebalancing of weapons, perks, and cyberware has made my build a lot less boring. It was too OP ik the end game, being able to basically kill all enemies without them seeing me. But now my sniper cannot shoot through walls anymore and I constantly run out of quickhack RAM which forces me to use health for quickhacks instead using the overdrive ability.
The police chases are also good fun. It makes the city feel a lot more dynamic. The police will basically engage anything that hurts them. So you can get them to resolve their own NCPD sidequest thingies by leading them into a crime scene with other enemies. They’ll also shoot at civilians or each other. This lead to a peak America moment where a civilian car got launched in a car crash, and because it hurt one officer all the police in the area started shooting this poor civilian car that was flying through the air. It’s been a lot of fun to just drive around and mess with the police system.
A tick is like a snapshot of the game state, i.e. where each player is, what they are doing, where they are looking etc. The tick rate describes how often this game state is calculated by the server and sent back to the clients (our PC’s).
The main reason why CS:GO 128tick server are so much better than 64tick server is because in Global Offensive the server doesn’t know exactly when each player pressed a button. The server only knows the tick in which a button was pressed or a head was shot. This leads to a tiny bit of discrepancy between what you actually did and what the server thinks you did (e.g. you were on the head but the game thinks you missed since in a single tick the player moved out of your crosshair). 128tick makes this more accurate.
Btw. this is also the reason why we need jump throw binds for smokes, since the jump throw only works if both buttons are pressed in exactly the same tick. Not even pro players can do this consistently.
CS2 provides the server with the exact time at which you shot, at which time your crosshair was on the target and at time you pressed a button. This means the hit registration is exact and doesn’t happen only every 16ms or 8ms on 128tick servers. Thus CS2 64tick hitreg > CS:GO 128tick. But there’re other factors in play which decide how the game feels, which is why 128 tick still has (minor) advantages in CS2.
Hopefully that helped. If not, feel free to ask and I’ll explain as far as I know. This topic is still developing and there’s much misinformation floating around.
This video explains how the netcode is better than some people falsely claim. It’s only at the end that they want 128 tick for Premier mode, but that’s not a good idea.
Another example of a video that debunks a video which claimed CS2 had an input lag problem. [1]
Looks great, a much needed departure from the NSMB formula, not that those games weren’t fun. Not a fan of Nabbit and Yoshi being locked behind easy mode, but at least it’s lore friendly I guess.
I was excited about most of the stuff I saw in this trailer. I hope EA never EVER abandons a game the way they did NHL 23, but the focus they put on 24 during the abandonment does seem to have resulted in some good stuff.
Yes! Glad to see that others have an eye on this. This is made by the developers of Craftopia, and if you’ve seen that game, you’d have no doubts that they will at least try desperately to make the promised features work. It isn’t unlikely that it will be a technical disaster, but I’m sure it will be fun.
