I saw this title a couple of times during conferences in the past years and I liked the general atmosphere and style, but I had absolutely no clue what kind of gameplay to expect.
Now that I seen it, it reminds me of The Division in a different theme. Was expecting a whole different kind of game for some reason. Can’t say the gameplay looks very interesting though, seems quite basic and bland, especially comparing to the Division games. Might still check it out since I like the style and theme.
You’re not mistaken actually, this game changed a lot and was apparently supposed to release in 2022 as a looter shooter. They delayed it, changed it to be a slower paced extraction shooter instead.
I thought I was going crazy, because I definitely felt like the impressions I got a couple of years ago definitely seemed more like a Destiny type of game.
Could still be fun but it seemed like a weird shift. But these kind of changes during development barely ever mean anything good for the final product.
The demo was a lot of fun. My wife and I played a bit. Plays more like smash brothers with grabs than the first game. It feels a tiny bit slower, which is fine. They have a mode where you can see replays in detail, frames/hitboxes/etc… The roster of characters are a bit small, but the first game started that way too.
If this teaser is representative of the game, I don’t think I like that characters’ faces are shown. My memory of the original is entirely in first-person perspective, which was an important part of it being so immersive. It felt like being in all those tense situations myself, rather than watching someone else from a distance.
I panicked for a moment and thought you meant like the EA origin or whatever store instead of early access… I was wondering how they got their grubby mitts on it. Lol
Subnautica has sold over six million copies. If they don’t have the cash to fund making subnautica 2 after that, then I sure don’t want to give them EA money.
Hmmm… Does it run optimized? With these DLSS/AFMF stuff I just worried it’ll be another turd port like good ol’ R* did with gta 3/vc/sa/4, bully, and manhunt. Yes their recent RDR2 is good or maybe i’m just stuck on older R* games -_-
