Playing god of war on the ps2 on Christmas with my grandma almost chocking when the bloody scenes came on is a great memory. I had to wait till grandma was gone before I could play more. Amazing times.
I’ve been having a lot of fun with DS3 Seamless Co-op since it released recently.
It’s so much fun to play these games with multiple people. And it was surprisingly stable. We’ve had a couple of crashes, but not worse at all. The only boss that was too bugged to play was Wolnir. Luckily it bugged out so hard it beat itself.
I tried Dark Souls 3 co-op without this mod years back, since it has that password system, but the game fights back against playing that way. It basically made sure you got invaded constantly.
People are into vinyl and tube TVs again. Barnes & Noble just opened a huge branch in a hot (meaning: expensive) neighborhood here in Chicago. I guess people like physical things again.
Might be both. I know a couple of 20s that love physical media. Its crazy to think about, but they stated their childhood was mostly screens and rectangles. They both like Vinyl which is crazy to me. They are working their first jobs too.
i have the money but not the space. i used to have a subscription back in ps2-ps3 gen but the world has changed. now i just follow a few people on youtube, pateron and use sites like this or reddit for news.
I think people are catching on to these digital services can remove things you bought or they even fold. You own a physical item it is yours to do as you please with it
Yes please. To quote time traveling reporter Ryan George “PLEASE bring me back to the 90s! The future is dumb, and nothing makes sense, and I hate it!”
I never cared for game informer. It always felt like GameStop was trying to shill it in order to sell subscriptions to a magazine that’s basically a giant advertisement for GameStop.
Gimme those cooler magazines. Game Pro, Nintendo Power, PSM etc.
So you like ads, just not GameStop ads? I mean, GI had a lot of info about games, too. Beyond Nintendo and PS, you could actually learn about PC games.
In Darktide its always 12 Waves, at the beginning you choose a focus ( Indulgence) which dictates the character of the buffs you receive throughout your run. (think buffs to melee/ ranged, survivability, etc.) You receive a random minor buff every round in accordance with the Indulgence you chose at the beginning, and every 4 rounds you choose a major buff out of three presented to you (also in accordance with your chosen indulgence).
The mode is pretty fun, though the fact that there are currently only 2 maps lets it get stale pretty quick imo
Interesting that the District 9 director is involved with the parent company.
I thought Game Informer had some cool stuff. I really liked the second opinion on reviews, that tiny box inside the full review. It was fun to pick a side when they were at odds.
Oh man. If you think game dev has been having a rough go of it lately, games media was already a smoking crater before all the waves of dev layoffs began. Now GI wants to dive back in and restart their print offering too? There are a bunch of good people over there and I’m happy they’re getting another chance unshackled from GameStop, but woof. Good luck!
