This is an fpga recreation of the turbo duo. It’s capable of playing original pc engine, turbografix16 games, as well as cd games and the six (Six!) Super graphics games.
Why does fpga matter? It means the games run as close to as they were at launch, including the as close to zero lag as possible for a modern display (and actually zero ms lag when it has dac support).
If you don’t have any original tg/pce games, then this likely isn’t something you will care about. If you do, this is likely going to be the best way to play your game collection for the foreseeable.
is it spring? i have completely lost track of the flow of seasons at this point. Its like the game of thrones weather but every other day instead of every ten to twenty years
It's a shame, but considering that Unity is deep in a hole of unprofitability coupled with high interest rates across the globe, I can't say it's surprising.
Plan A was to rip off all of their users and Plan B seems to be to downsize. I wonder if it'll be enough to right the ship...
I've had not a single crash so far and most of my frame dipping issues (from 60 to 40) were solved by lowering the shadows to medium. The only bugs I had were ships spawning in other ships so they spaz out, but that's very rare. On the other hand, Baldurs Gate 3 would constantly drop to 10 FPS and I had severe bugs that locked me out of entire questlines.
But I guess I'm not allowed to enjoy games and have fun because gamebryo = bad
I guess it depends on who you are, and if that’s why you’re watching.
CDPR has a disastrous launch but came through for their fans by committing to delivering a solid game that won them the “Best Ongoing Game” award, again, putting them in their fans’ good graces again for the mistakes they made.
Neil Newbon, the voice actor for Astarion in BG3, spoke in the past about how his face wasn’t a Hollywood face. Despite countless auditions, he was always turned down because of the way he looked. His voice acting and motion capture performance (i.e. actual acting!) in BG3 won him the “Best Performance” award, vindicating him from all those people who said he’s not good enough.
Neil is just one of the many stories of what it takes for individuals and studios to get recognised. This was the peak of his career, to finally be seen for what he can do, and not for what he looks like (I’ve no idea what anyone is complaining about with regards to his appearance!).
Neil Newbon, the voice actor for Astarion in BG3, spoke in the past about how his face wasn’t a Hollywood face.
This is Hollywood demanding standards so strict and unusual that it borders on bigotry. His face looks fine, and a helluva lot more chiseled than mine.
It’s like when nobody considered casting an actor with dwarfism in a normal role, and then Peter Dinklage started appearing everywhere. But, Hollywood kinda forgot what that meant and didn’t bother to repeat that with other actors with dwarfism.
This is why people still accuse Hollywood of racism and sexism. (Because it’s still true…)
Neil is straight up attractive. I don’t understand the disregard for his talents but I’m guessing something else happened that put him on the blacklist?
He has insane talents and I totally agree. Hollywood is vile to the core and it’s no secret, with names big and small, old and young, veteran and rookie all content to say it as it is. It’s sad that Neil was one of the unlucky ones. What’s sadder is all the Neils who couldn’t find a break like BG3 to revive them.
Such a good point about Peter Dinklage too! It was his star power that producers banked on. I’m sure they would never have cast him if he didn’t stand out in GoT.
Same. I haven’t looked up the nominees, winners or even categories. The next day I saw Monster Hunter Wilds and Metaphor news and that’s really all I care about. I don’t get award shows in general since they don’t change anything for me - the product doesn’t get better or worse depending on the outcome.
I feel bad for the people that actually make Unity what it is. I hope the C-suite fucking chokes on the money they’ve taken that they don’t deserve. This whole situation is their fault.
This feels like the Morbius re-release. Big Rigs is (in)famous for being one of the worst/most broken games ever made, who in their right mind would pay for it?
Big Rigs is literally the only video game in existence I can think of that has the same “B movie” qualia about it. It’s so bad, it’s actually funny to play because of just how insanely bad and broken it is. I mean, what other game can you accelerate to literal infinity and beyond by simply driving backwards?
If they actually remastered it and made it a good game, it would actually suck more than the unique experience the terrible original offers.
I don’t think I agree. I feel like the game is so short and incomplete that you can see everything it has to offer by playing it for 10 minutes - or watching a YT gameplay.
The game has one map, no collisions, no AI. I think I remember it having different playable “rigs” but they are mechanically the same, so there’s no point.
At least with a game like Oblivion you could play it for 20 years and stillfindnewones. Big Rigs doesn’t have near the same “energy”.
Fun fact, Ace Combat 5 has a similar “going at ludicrous speed” bug (We have to go faster, We have to go even faster), but it also has an entire (actually good) playable game attached to it.
Biggest boo is the change to Path of the Giants doesn’t make you size large, it just does a single enlarge. Cowards! They can’t handle the full might of my halfling giant!
That’s neat and all, but I’ve been playing these games on an emulator for too long to bother with Nintendo’s subscription emulator. It would have been nice to have this in 2015.
