Gaxsun, do games w what boss in any video game has an insanely cool intro to them before fighting?

I’d like to submit my two favorite buddies from AC games for consideration.

Rusty from Armoured Core VI, especially the final fight against him in Breach The Karman Line. With that backdrop and his sweet ass AC sliding to a stop while you can hear the pure venom in his voice “Here we are… buddy…” as Steel Haze starts playing.

And then we have Ace Combat Zero, having just prevented the V2 launch, flying back to base when your wingman gets one shot by a fucking laser, and you see your former wingman, Pixy, in a hitherto unseen aircraft and hear the flamenco accompanied by that voice: “So, have you found a reason to fight yet… Buddy?”.

Similar themes across both, and both are absolutely iconic.

Runaway,

Both fantastic but special props to Ace Combat Zero for giving the PC one of the most bad ass titles in gaming and then giving you awesome dogfights that double down on earning the title Demon Lord of the Round Table

Maybe it’s just the nostalgia of it, but the flying through the tunnel while andross monologues at you, then the tunnel ends and this evil dude, who you’ve never seen as anything but a disembodied face, he just appears as a disembodied face for starfox 64 was fantastic. inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=BSUW2Rsej7I

Spoiler for the forest:

spoilerThe little girl, with everything in the game building up the tension and discovering just what the hell is going on… and then you slowly walk up behind her and she looks at you, giggles, and explodes

The Clovis monologue in the Destiny 2 Deep Stone Crypt. Its not really an intro to a fight and more like the mastermind behind the situation introducing itself halfway through the raid. So doesnt quite fit this post but i loved it so much so im sharing it anyways.

CaptSatelliteJack,

Idgaf what anyone says, DSC was dope

unexposedhazard,

Such a tragedy what bungie has become. The game would have so much potential in the right hands.

acosmichippo, do games w If you miss old network multiplayer games, or would like to try them with your friends for the first time, may I suggest setting them up via SoftEtherVPN?

if you run into issues with softether, zerotier might offer a more streamlined experience.

Final boss of Dark Souls

Tap for spoilerI’d argue the entire game is the boss intro. And IIRC, the lore behind Gwyn is pretty deep too. You fight all these big baddies, and when you get to Gwyn, he’s relatively pretty weak. I remember being very fascinated by all the dark souls lore and his was particularly interesting. I vaguely remember that after killing him, you have the choice of keeping the flame alive or leaving and breaking the cycle?

Elden Ring, the Lord of Madness. Intro, and the mid fight phase change gave me goosebumps with the music

Try, github.com/utkarshdalal/GameNative . Unlike steam link gamesnative let’s you download and play steam games natively on android. I dont know how good it works on handhelds though. Haven’t used it much myself.

PKscope, do gaming w A reminder to not take online negativity too seriously

It’s been my experience that dedicated places for fans of certain games or franchises to congregate always devolve into a never-ending cycle of “Everything is wrong and this game is terrible. I have 3000 hours in it.”.

No one hates a game like the most dedicated fans do. For instance, I put a significant amount of time into the Forza franchise over the years. The Forza community (both the subreddit and the official Forza forums) might be one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. No one is ever happy with or about anything.

Basically, if you really like something, avoid the fan communities at all costs. You’ll end up finding out about things that are supposedly “game ruining” that you never even knew or cared about and then you won’t be able to un-see it.

Final Fantasy Tactics

blindsight,

I see FFT, I upvote. I love that game so much. I should play it again… It would be perfect for the Deck, too.

Speaking of negativity, how the hell do people deal with the way reddit looks now? Everytime I see it this way I am shocked.

Avatars, ads, wasted space, weird conversation drop downs… yuck.

This is exactly how Eric Barone felt, despite knowing in his heart that he had made something special to him. This is how he thought Stardew Valley would he received. The general gaming community are such cunts.

biotin7,

The reason is because; the general community aren’t the nerds that made gaming fun

zout,

The reason is, the people who like to leave reviews are cunts. Source: I hardly ever review anything, because I'm not a cunt. When I do review, it's to a small busines (buzzword alert), and it's always because the service was excellent.

As someone who quit his job to create a video game this makes me feel good.

I will probably fail, but that’s a future feeling.
